Sithis immediately starts spinning up, and Do or Die comes speeding at Danny, sending Sithis flying across he arena at high speed1 That was quick, and before Danny can recover Chezza attacks again, slamming into Sithis and lifting it with the scoop before pinning it against the pit release button! The siren wails and the chasm is lowered, with that added hazard to worry about our drivers are really feeling the pressure now! And Do or Die lifts Sithis again, this time ramming it onto the killsaws! BZZT! Danny is thrown away, but spins up and slams into the back of Do or Die, sending Chezza spinning onto the killsaws! BZZT! Do or Die is ruffled, but comes back on the attack and pushes Chezza into The Easter Bunny, who slams Danny with the hammer!
CRASH!
Sithis took a real battering from that blow, and now theres no movement from Sithis at all! The camera zooms in and we see that the link was knocked out by that hit! What a shame that the house robots ended this match, but now theyre having some more fun- Roger slams into the back of Do or Die and rams Chezza into the pit! The crowd roar with delight and the Easter Bunny clamps Sithis with his jaw before going into a spin and letting go of Sithis when hes at maximum speed!
CRASH!
Sithis hits the opposite arena wall, but the pain isnt over yet as Roger follows and starts shredding the tyres with the blade, then pushes Sithis back up the arena into the Easter Bunny, who splats Danny with the hammer again!
CRASH!
And then in comes Roger to finish the job with a swift pitting!

CEASE!


The house robots win! I mean, Do or Die wins the ETC08 annihilator!!!!!!!!!

Event 3- Challenge Belt

Usual rules, look at the all-stars rules in the archives if you dont know. Any number of people can enter, but only 1 robot each. It must be a vapour unless you actually own a realie, in which case you can enter that. If Martijn will oblige then this will follow on from my previous challenge belt and Flick of the Wrist will start with the belt.

Martijn did a calculation on N-G 5.0, and just with the armour and drivetrain alone, its about 110kg. :proud:

And you cant use Kody always looks for an excuse to call my robots overweight! here, sorry. :P

By the way, Ive re-checked Nitro-Gene, and Im now trying to make sure its in weight. Ive thinned off the armour around the edges by 3mm, so that SHOULD put it in weight now :uhoh:

EDIT: Thinning the armour down from 6mm to 5mm isnt going to help THAT much, probably make it go from 110kg to 95kg, and then you have to including everything else. :proud:

Taking off 2 LEMS and their associated batteries might do it...youre not getting four LEMs, Hardox, and a nitrogen powered weapon in 100kg.

Unless the Hardox is pretty thin. :proud:

But yeah, follow Joeys advice and it should be okay. :)

EDIT: Okay, seriously what the hell is going on here? :S First you thin the armour by a dismal amount, then shorten the dimensions so that its middleweight sized. Then you delete it entirely, AND RE-POST IT WITH THE SAME NAME OF THE VAPOURBOT ABOVE??? :P

I started to get stressed that I wanted to keep most of the parts from Nitro-Gene 4.0, but without putting it over the weight limit, so I deleted it and started again.

And its not THAT small - Baldur Gamma is only 15cm smaller in length and 15cm shorter in width, but 40cm taller. :proud: And it hasnt changed too much, Ive thinned armour off the flipper and put it to use on holding the body-parts together along with the monocoque, to make sure that panels dont break off as easily this time around :proud: and Ive lowered the ground clearance to make it more controllable.

The thing about Baldur is that its height makes up for its very small length and weight. If we halved the height, the length and width would probably double, or least increase by 1.5 times. :proud:

Get some ice for that, youre going to need it. :wink:

Its probably got something to do with the fact that Im redesigning No Objections, mind :P

To be honest with Kody, Im very reluctant to do so, so I deleted everything again, started again, and NOW it should be fine. If it isnt fine, Ill forget toning it up or down, and just settle with Knyfe.

Like I said before, you are not getting four LEMs and Hardox armour in a wheeled robot unless it hasnt got a weapon.

Thtas true Paul. Danny has Crimson Thunder, which I think has 5mm hardox, 4 LEMs at 36v and weighs in at 100kg. Add a full pressure nitrogen flipper and that would be overweight

But Crimson Thunder was MUCH bigger than Nitro ever was.
And Nitro-Gene 4.0 had much of whats in it now, but what Ive done to make sure is its as lightweight as possible, so Ive made it smaller in width and height than any of the previous versions, and so its lighter than before, and there arent massive changes. The shock-proofing is also being used to hold the armour to the chassis as well as shock-proof (an idea used by Kody on his new machine, The Zodiac) and Ive gone back to 6 wheels, and Ive taken off 2kg of Nitrogen, so I now have 4kg on board. The armour is the same, the weapon is improved slightly, and its got 6 wheels, so its in weight.

If its too much trouble I may as well scrap 5.0 and just settle for a 4th version.

The problem is you cant have 4 LEMs AND a flipper of that calibre

Paul, I take the definition of a monocoque as being the bodyshell also serves as the chassis, not too sure what yours is.

I also dont particuarly see how four LEMs, Hardox and a full pressure Nitrogen flipper can ever be in weight, especially since youve now increased the wheels. Four motors driving six wheels equals lots of chains to make sure all six recieve the power, which increases the weight...I dont honestly see the need for four motors here anyway.
Like Ive kept saying, it will be closer to being in weight if you lose two motors and use chains to transmit the power (this is actually better than having four for a coule of reasons, which I wont go into here)

Even though I didnt do a weight check on the current Nitro-Gene 5.0, your post contains no arguments whatsoever to back up this statement. When I weight checked the previous 5.0 I used a calculater and an encyclopedia to do so, and it was clearly overweight.

Wedginator Devilution pitted Nidhogg after a long and hard tussle, and Bigger Brother flipped Pussycat OOTA, but was then pitted by Wedginator.

SOR X v Wedge Devolution v Supreme Glory Omega v Razer

Wedge Devolution was pitted by Supreme Glory Omega, whos link was knocked out by SOR X, who then trashed Razer and ripped out drive motors.

Nitro-Gene 4.0 v Cat with Wheels v Firestorm V v Chaos 2

Chaos 2 ran out of gas to self-right after it was flipped around by Cat with Wheels, and Nitro-Gene 4.0 flipped Firestorm V OOTA. Cat with Wheels then flipped Nitro-Gene into the pit.

Achilles v Liar 2 v Tornado v Dantomkia

Tornado pitted Liar 2, and Achilles flipped Dantomkia OOTA, but was then pitted by Tornado in a major shock.

Semi-Finals:

Wedginator Devilution took damage from SOR X, but came back and pitted it to win through.

Cat with Wheels flipped Tornado into the pit after a hard-fought battle.

Play-off:

SOR X flipped Tornado OOTA with no real problem.

Final:

Wedginator Devilution beat Cat with Wheels on an extremely close judges decision.
