If Ghost Raptor was well designed and built it wouldn't have broken on the first hit. Its primary weapon had several design flaws and they just got lucky with the lifter.

I agree, ghost raptors design was shocking. If the bar was strong enough it would have been bad. A large bar that high and at an angle is about the worst possible way to do it, and that's before making the bar from two ultra thin sheets with only 10mm around the edge of the pivot.
They should have stuck with the original design and used Predaraptor
Their weapon motor was underpowered as well - given the lightweight bar, it spun up quite slowly. Predaraptor would have indeed been the better choice - maybe next year?
I suspect they weren't able to use PredaRaptor as-was as I'm fairly sure it made other TV appearances. I forget what show(s) or in what form, but perhaps that was why it had to be changed for BB.
It was in the Budweiser advert that Battlebots sued and I'm fairly sure it was banned from Battlebots after for legal reasons... At least, I recall that being the story at least
Edit: actually no that was Tripulta Raptor... Think the robots were somewhat related though so could still be a factor
Either way the bloke behind it is massively unpleasant.
Thanks for the spoiler - NOT!
what spoiler? Or didn't you know they could grow a mullet magicly and shave of a few years?
Picture 1 was shot at least a decade ago.
Picture 2 you might have recognized as it was shot during the last champs
Picture 3 was shot at BB and is taken out of one of the episodes.
OK, you fooled me pretty well - I was busy trying to un-see that first photo.
It's somewhat confusing that he didn't add some text to explain why he put up the photo's in the first place.
It's my guess he wanted to show how they changed over the past years.
Or it's just a kind of german humour I don't get.
:D It is so better...

well that was a sea of big hits and upsets still a little gutted for icewave and part of me is impressed by ghost raptor part of me feels like if you dont declare an addon you shouldn't be allowed to put it on but at the same time it was brilliantly designed
I never thought that I would cheer so loud for witch doctor.
i think that has to be the best a person has ever done against tombstone though he is very condescending of the competition and the people he fights if only witch doctor had not been flipped he would have had tombstone as his blade was ruined

I expect we will see the rules and entry documents within a week or so.
This text for more than 3 months is on this page!
Sooo.... Whos applying for the next series of battlebots?
Please tell us you are taking supernova? That machine would still hold it's own in terms of power
We've got featherweights hitting harder than supernova did back in the days.
Still, with current advances in tech, supernova could be easily upgraded to the new standards.
Has anyone been contacted by Battle Bots regarding their decision on the series 2 applicants I'm getting worried now! :(
Nope. Seems to be getting delayed and delayed, not sure if the recent RW announcement has had any bearing on their plans. But as with RW, they could do with letting people know sooner rather than later!
For those who haven't followed the Team Saint thread on FB, we have not been selected for this years Battle Bots, The reason given is they have fixed amount of money for transporting the robots to the show, so only a small number is going from the UK. this seems reasonable to me and after all it is an American Show and they don't have to have anyone from the UK.
I'm still looking forward to the show as a spectator this year,
I am wondering who will be successful who ever it is lets do a little better than last time. :)
