Team Sabretooth

Lol my brain can't process all of it being on one stick. Mind you...I'm a simple soul that can't build active weapons so I'll probably be alright.

I'm at a loss, using one stick is easier than two sticks.
For one, the machine will go in the direction you move the stick towards relative to it's front (the machine)
Secondly it leaves the other hand free to operate different sticks and buttons on the controls and to scratch your nose if need be.

I'm with you Niels with one stick you can control the movements with your thumb

I mean it makes robot driving like forza lol.

Whilst Legion is away, having her custom bits machined, connector between QEV and buffer to allow for a dump outlet. The lifting arm plate and a few other nice bits. she is also going to loose some weight in various places.

So with nothing to do and then inspired by Jaime I decided to visit my box of bits and put together another robot. here are some teaser photos.

Some sort of grabber?
The big question is if it is electric why does it have paintball bottles? Maybe a combined system?

It's going to be a bit of a grabber, no gas in any form what so ever will be present! Think of the bottles as panniers. The weapon will be housed inside one of them.

Drum spinner?

So today has been busy busy. Ive been working on Sabretooth, whilst Legion has been having its custom bits made. So Sabretooth first.

Not a drum spinner john, thanks Jaime I'm really pleased so far. Sabretooth always uses yellow gas pipe so it's taken me along time to collect more bits. That being said all the gas pipe bits so far have been salvaged from the heavy version. You'll have to guess again on the weapon

Today, Monday mornings have become Robot building time slots. I have been wiring up Legion and shaping Sabretooth's Armour

The gas pipe looks strong, is it easy to get hold of?

Two very stylish robots, especially like Sabretooth! That tail on the back gives it a very scorpion-like look about it and it's extremely cool - looking forward to seeing them both in action!

The gas pipe is very strong, the curves deflect opponents nicely and look sexy. It's HDPE. The reason I originally chose gas pipe was I saw a digger squash a pipe flat and then it sprang back with very little damage. As for getting hold of, unless you have a depot near you (skip) I go and ask the road workers for it. So I happened to stumble on these bits the other day making Sabretooth possible.

Thank you Matt, I'm really pleased with Sabretooth, Its restored my confidence in robot design. I love Legion but they're a copy so i drew those plans up from Chaos2. Sabretooth is my creation from scratch. Its the design that was meant to be my last heavy. Its weapon is the part I'm most excited about.
