Is the bw arena likely to be at Maidstone?
No.
Is it just going to robots live events?
Yes, that was the plan :)

looking at being smack on 1.5kg, but it doesn't drive so well. after a few fights I'll see about getting it into better design.
very nice the width will cause driving issues and will make the gyro turning worse but looks great should get onto mine at some point, what drive motors are you using ?
Hi, surely width makes turning with a large rotating mass easier?
I'm using MFA 30:1 motors from technobots :)
My thinking was the same as Harry's?
Too much weight over the front, try bigger wheels and reducing the friction under the weapon.
Make the weapon bigger and faster :)
Shane, don't think I don't want too ;)
PJ, yeah those might help, although some grippyer wheels might help too... anybody got a pair of 73mm 10mm wide banebots they could lend me :P
What I think would be another option would be to change the design a bit and belt drive another set of wheels up the front, underneath the beater.
it might run better on a metal floor rather than wood.
Just a suggestion Harry, how about some tiny magnets at the back? I'll be bringing the things I bought, chances are they'll do jack to stabilize what I'm building, so you're free to try them. :D
haha, you say it like that will work :P Bring the magnetz with you anyway and we can try them
Had quite a few people asking me over the course of the weekend where I got the servo from that powers Flatulence's flipper. It's the biggest one available on Giant Shark:
http://www.giantshark.co.uk/product/...vo-20kg-torque
Not the fastest but reasonably sturdy. It was plugged in directly to the receiver which, in turn, drew power from a 6V external BEC. The flipper arm was connected directly to the servo horn on one side, with a support bolt attached to the servo base for the other side of the arm to connect to.
I just need to combine it with drive motors that can still push when something's partially lifted on the arm.
I have some spare 550s if like Jamie. :D
Cheers Ellis, I could totally fit them inside Flatulence's chassis :p
@Jamie, do you plan on bypassing the BEC and drawing power directly from the Battery? That should help.
You wouldn't have to go as big 550 for major speed in a BW, rc car hobby motors would do (400s?) Although I think it's awesome that Ellis did it and very impressed it worked!
