Laser 2 - A 4wd ram bot with an electric lifter capable of lifting 50+kg
James can you change Flow to Cobalt please
Johnny 2x4- A 2wd wooden wedge bot. More details can be seen here viewtopic.php?f=240&t=4922
Speaking of wood, are there any other wooden robots? Not even my spiritual timber homeboy Block of Wood is there. So that 12 page thread in General Chat was for nought. :P
Tormenta (means Thunder in Spanish) (name may change...)
100mm wheels, 4x 12v drills at 18v, chopping board everything (varying from 5mm up to 20-25mm), electric 4-bar lifter.
Don't be fooled, it is made with really strong sellotape and really good rubber bands.
Doorstop: 2wd, 4 speed 900 replicas, 22.2v, 6-20mm HDPE invertible wedge
Why are we doing this?
Kaizer: Invertible 4 wheel drive robot with screw thread powered lifting forks. Based on former Welsh Robot Wars champion Panic Attack, this machine represents Wales for the competition.

may be rebuilding the chassis yet which will totally change the robot but will have to see
Metalbeak: 2x Drill Motor drive, 12v, 8-10mm HDPE armour, FP Pneumatic Flipper.
Highly untested and needs to be redesigned
Chuck.....I dare not describe it as it will hunt me down and kill me.
Not that I'm complaining, but how the hell did Drumroll manage to get 10th seed? It was utter cack last year!
Anyway, Drumroll: 2WD drum spinner, 15mm Nylon chassis and 4-6mm steel armour. Weapon weighs 2.3kg and is powered by a Scorpion brushless motor.
Carcinus: Unconventional (and possibly epic fail) three-wheel drive crab-bot, running 12V drills on 19.2V. Steel claws are only static, but will flash by in a blur as the robot heads straight for the pit
Double post
Omen-
A 2wd single toothed disc spinner, runs 2 speed 700 drive motors on 130mm wheels and has a speed 900 driving the 2.6kg 330mm disc.
Invictus- speed 900 powered drum running on 24v, 20mm hdpe armour, drill motor drive, aluminium lid and base
Centrifuge- horizontal bar spinner powered by replica speed 900 motor off 12v. Drill motor drive, 20mm hdpe armour and 3mm steel base and lid. Not built yet by should be fairly simple.

Portsmouth 2011 Champion
Barnsley 2012 Champion
2nd Place Kidderminster 2011
Forever Top 10 Robot (2008 to the present)
:D
This is much more fun if you imagine the guy with the EPIC deep voice from Robot Wars saying your intro and then Jonathon Pearce saying you details.
Guy with big onions: From Suffolk in East Anglia.... Bitza Mk2!
Jonathon: Made entirely from scrap and 2nd hand parts hence the name. Weapon is powered by a car fan motor and the wheels are from a lawn mower!
Oh and looks like we're qualifying the same day as LS4, here's hoping we don't get drawn against each other, not going to be that lucky twice in a row!
LF3 2wd Full pressure flipper titanium armour.
LS4 4wd Full body spinner 6.8kg titanium disc/bar powered by a screwdriver motor.
Beauty2 enough said :)
540; 5mm titanium chassis, 3.2mm hardox armour, 6wd from 2 speed 900s
Interchangeable weapons, either full Hardox shell with Powerful magnetic drive or a 2kg 8000rpm beater weapon also powered by a screwdriver motor :)
Notes; often found on fire, in bits or both :)
If only i'd entered, I could have been joint 10th seed!!! :lol:Quote:

Dont worry there are plenty of spinners this year! :)
360's retired now john :P ...for now
Get it going Dave. Its criminal not to!
I want to see it action. you threatened to get it running last year.
Dont forget today at midday onfacebook, live draw :)
You going to post the results on here?
I will do afterwards
The draw has been completed! You can check it out on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/robochallenge I will also transfer it to here later today.
As some of you know I work in audio and was thinking would people be interested in Audio intros much like those on Robot Wars?
From whatha ma call it in so and so ........ Thing a ma jig
Obviously this is my time pending, and whether RoboChallenge have the ability to play them back.
Thought it might add a bit of theatre, let me know.
My quaulifiers gradually get worse, flipper and a wooden bot, then good rammer and a spinner, but then spinner and hydraulic crusher
Might not see ReAvenger again, may run my old shell and save the re-build till after the champs
So I have Beauty 3 and 540 to contend with. I don't actually know much about v3 but Beauty 2, obviously, was very successful. Just my luck, the team that won the title two years in a row! Brilliant! Fantastic! Splendid! Oh God.
540; massively powerful, lethal weapon, indestructible, very fast and very good driver.
Oh well, we'll take plenty of bin bags. I guess our luck could have been worse, then again it could have been significantly better.
See you there! (If we don't run away :uhoh:)

That's the qualifying draw complete! We wish all the team the very best of luck and look forward to the Championships. Now... Who do you think will be in the top 10 shoot out on Sunday? Whats your predictions?
Note to self: Buy bin bags.
Round one you should be fine, wave bye bye in round two though, wood and LS4 are a great mic for damage
whats centrifuge?
Chuck and Tiny Toon? Don't think my chances are entirely non-existent, lol. :uhoh:
Also, our robot is called Tormenta. It seems to have gained an i at some point in the drawing process.
Edit: just noticed; Inertia and NST?!
Block of Wood vs LS4 last year was surprisingly disappointing. Hardly any splinters or sawdust :(Quote:

It's a horizontal bar spinner which is currently still on bits!Quote:
