Scar Towers is always open to you if you need a garage to work in Jamie, if the need becomes great enough to lug everything you'd need up here. Dont mind too much if you see this HW a day or two early  . Wouldnt want you blowing yourself up welding out in the rain, not just before a competition anyway.

Thanks for the offer Tony, although events are conspiring against me to take you up on it (aka my dad's currently got the car at work and then we're out tonight for my mum's birthday meal).
It's mainly to make bits for the claw mechanism, but since the claws are so slow and likely not to see much use in what will probably be about three fights on Sunday, I'm just going to mount them on the front in a fixed position, so there will be no movement from them for this event. Mostly because there's quite a bit of work involved in making the linkages and there's not a whole heap of time left, plus I don't know what it is but I'm in quite a canny-be-arsed build mood today

Daiske II is a bit of an embarrassment as I have run out of materials and just whacked on some spare HDPE, there is a bit gap in the armour too, ahh well, it will do for now. Also, it doesn't work, XL is doing something funny.
Also, annoyingly, I am 1 bullet connector short of making it all complete but if anyone has one there that I can steal they are welcome to a drive, I am using Cicatrix anyway, just brining this along to make up the numbers

Back from a great event. Shame SF had the same gas leak :( I think from now I'm just going to use it as a display robot until Swanny and Jason get the time to take it for upgrades and Pug is in need of a rebuild after all the battering, I think the Big Nipper team have rapidly become my arch enemies as their 2 FWs were the reasons for Pug losing both its fights.
Anyway, was good to meet Tony Smith for the first time with Scar and Eric and also Peter Bennett from the Typhoon team. Also well done to Team Mad and the rest of the Robots Live crew for putting on a good show, but not forgetting Toxic 2 taking the Team Bud trophy off Kronic, about time someone beat them ;).
Re: 19th June -Robots Live@National Museum of Flight, Scotla
Great event today, many thanks to the Robots Live! crew for organising and running it :)
It was a nice, laid back event and pretty stress-free which is always good. Audience turnout was brilliant and they were really getting into it. Got chatting to a family afterwards whose son is really interested so hopefully we'll get another Scottish roboteer out of it.
Was cool to see another RW veteran robot, Eric, in the flesh as well, even if it was peeing all over the floor
Robots did alright (will update in my build thread) but there is room for a few improvements here and there, not to mention repairing the damage sustained by BattleAxe.
Hopefully the museum folk will have the robots back next year.
Photos and battle footage (only about seven videos this time) to be uploaded soon.
Re: 19th June -Robots Live@National Museum of Flight, Scotla
Great fun event, nice and relaxed too, especially compared to the only other event i've attended but then that was probably because the robots actually worked. I am, however, going to destroy every bullet connector in the robot after the broke in the pits after every fight.
The audience turnout was great, must have been 6-8 deep with people all the way around the arena and also people on the plane balcony next to the arena. Also managing to win a fight from the cheers of the audience, which was a good bonus even if it was just because all the other bots drove into the pit leaving me and Carcinus to try to gain enough control to carry on the battle.
Was great to see the interest in Eric and Scar from both the roboteers and the audience, noticed quite a few people coming up to take photos. I think that made poor Eric a bit nervous after all those years hidden away and he wet himself, but we'll get his confidence built back up for the next event. Also, of course, many thanks to the other roboteers for helping this poor cripple carry all the gear in from the car :) .
Also, very impressed by that kids knowledge that was talking to Jamie and I, absolute legend.
Hope to see Robots Live! be back there next year as a Scottish event was great fun!
Re: 19th June -Robots Live@National Museum of Flight, Scotla
glad eric enjoyed himself, now we need to see either him or scar in the arena next year :)
