MeCannibal 3.0 vs Sheer Heart Attack 2
In the Red Square we have MeCannibal 3.0, the third generation in a series of powerful shuffling ring spinners. This robot puts out an astonishing 155Kj per hit, higher than any other robot in the competition and has 10mm thick armour all over, titanium and hardox in various areas. However the shuffling pads are exposed to overhead attacks.
In the Blue Square we have Sheer Heart Attack 2, which is essentially a tracked version of Barberous. Unlike Barberous though it has powerful lynch motors in the drive and magmotors spinning the weapon, plus rear wedges to allow it to push other robots around the arena. However, the tracks are exposed to overhead attacks.

Sheer Heart Attack 2 immediately starts spinning up the drum and moves across the arena towards MeCannibal, who spins up the ring and attempts to shuffle across the arena to attack, but for some reason the feet don€™t seem to be working properly... MeCannibal is simply too small to accommodate all that foam, which is having to be squeezed in so tightly it€™s getting caught up in the shuffling feet and making MeCannibal€™s movement across the arena restricted and difficult. The ring is so powerful as well that MeCannibal is almost turning around with it and so all Sheer Heart Attack 2 does is move in with the drum calmly and slowly, colliding with MeCannibal€™s spinning ring. CRASH! There is immediately a large tear in Sheer Heart Attack 2€™s drum, but it doesn€™t matter because MeCannibal€™s magmotors in the drive are dying from the attempt to motivate such an obviously overweight robot across the floor and Paul is down and out. The speed of MeCannibal€™s ring plus the massive weight equals in MeCannibal doing a stylish (but pointless) Mauler type dance across the arena before coming to rest on the wall.

The Zodiac vs Spin Dash Unleashed
(Message edited by Supersporty on October 23, 2008)
...Lewis, you deserve massive amounts of kudos. Great battle again. :proud:
Incidentally...Paul, does this prove to you what weve been trying to explain to you for the past few months? :P
Yes :lame: I shouldnt have made the changes that I made.
Not that, but the extensive shockproofing that was in the original MC 3.0 stats. :P

Spin Dash Unleashed vs The Zodiac
In the Red Square we have Spin Dash Unleashed, a six wheel drive lynch motor-driven beast with a front saw blade mounted on the base of the machine and spun by a magmotor. The aim is to ram opponents around the arena and chew on tyres with the saw, and the hardox armour will protect from most attacks. However, the saw won€™t damage most armour.
In the Blue Square we have The Zodiac, a powerful body spinner that doesn€™t quite match MeCannibal 3.0 in the energy that it puts out, although that€™s only by 6Kj and the fact that it has a full body spinning shell as opposed to a spinning ring means it has a larger area of attack. However there are more powerful drives in the competition.

Both robots begin spinning up their weapons as the match begins, and Steven at the controls of Spin Dash Unleashed is the first to make his move, really putting his foot down and sending Spin Dash Unleashed across the arena at The Zodiac, who is almost at full speed, but is pushed backwards into the arena wall with minimal effort from Spin Dash and that halts the spinning shell! Taking advantage of this Steven drives in underneath the Zodiac€™s 6mm ground clearance and pushes it up against the spike strip, the saw really not having too much effect on the base armour of The Zodiac, only scratching it, but the point is The Zodiac€™s nightmarish weaponry hasn€™t had a chance to be used yet and the rammer is on top! Eventually though Steven has to reverse away and allow The Zodiac back onto the arena floor, where it immediately starts spinning up that shell again and dodges Spin Dash, who attempts to box-rush it a second time, but is evaded with expert driving from Kody at the controls of The Zodiac. This gives time for the full body spinner to have its shell at top speed and Kody drives on the attack of Spin Dash Unleashed, hitting the side skirt and ripping it clean off! Steven however is undeterred and tries to attack the Zodiac again, once again breaching the ground clearance but this time the Zodiac drives off the side of Spin Dash and with the shell still going around at maximum rpm Kody reverses into the back of Spin Dash. CRASH! The famous saw-bot/rammer is sent spinning away across the arena and hits the arena floor spinner, which catches onto him and launches the Scottish machine across the arena and into the spike strip! Spin Dash is left reeling from the hit, but the 4mm hardox seems to be OK and Steven turns to attack The Zodiac again, but he has given Kody too much time to ready himself for another onslaught of his own and The Zodiac now comes tearing across the arena at top speed, slamming into the front of Spin Dash Unleashed and sending it spinning away across the arena and onto the killsaws with the saw-blade hanging loose and buckled as Spin Dash hits the saws and is flipped over in a cascade of sparks, landing upside down with a broken weapon. There€™s nothing much Steven can do now as Spin Dash€™s remaining skirts hang limply upside down, so he just tries to stop Kody€™s full body spinner from beginning to revolve again by ramming in on the attack and pinning it against the spike strip again, but the wheels work too hard and Spin Dash drives up the sloped side of The Zodiac before getting flipped away by the srimech. And by this time The Zodiac is at speed again and heading towards Spin Dash Unleashed in a particularly menacing manner, slamming into the other side skirt and shattering it before moving around to the rear and tearing off the rear one as well! Spin Dash is in a bad way now, but continues to attack after The Zodiac has done its own damage and relentlessly pushes Kody into the spike strips, just trying to buy itself more time. However The Zodiac is ruthless and spins up again now, driving away from Spin Dash Unleashed and carefully avoiding the dogged box-rushes while the shell spins up in order to slam full force into the side of Spin Dash Unleashed, sending the blue box spinning across the arena and into the opposite spike strip! And now thirty seconds of the battle remain as the arena pits open, giving our drivers another thing to think about, and certainly the pits seem to be Steven€™s top priority now as he drives full force towards The Zodiac, all six wheels going their best to scoop up under the 6mm ground clearance of Kody€™s machine and despite the damage The Zodiac causes to the front panel of Spin Dash the older, more experienced machine just ploughs on into the black cylindrical machine and delivers it to the blue pit, reversing like an exhausted runner as the tables are turned and the promising FBS slides into the pit and out of Mechanical Maelstrom.

Wha... :S
Actually, I do have some complaints about the battle. How did Spin Dash get underneath The Zodiac again? As I did point out, the saw generally needs at least 5mm of ground clearance to work properly, and I did hear from Steve that the saw was 2.5mm-3mm thick...and if Spin Dash rammed itself onto The Zodiac, surely all six wheels would be lifted from the ground? :proud:
But whatever! :proud: It was still a very well written battle and I wont ask for a rewrite because I dont think its merited. :proud: Well done Steve. :proud:
Id disagree on the saws ground clearance, depending on how well its designed, it only needs to be something like 3mm from the ground, ideally more but 3mm is workable.
What I dont really get is that from memory Spin Dash has a flat front, and it somehow gets right in underneath Zodiac?
Meh, still an extremely good fight, looking forward to the rest of the tourney.

I get what you mean, Im probably wrong but I thought SD had a 0mm front ground clearance...but its flat  Sorry, it wont happen again
Well, SDU does have a flat front, but IIRC the saw also gives it a 0mm front ground clearance. I realise now that might be too low, but shut up, Im on a roll here.
Regardless, Im quite shocked I wasnt turned into spare parts. Most excellent fight there, Lewis.
Kody, you was robbed!
