+1 for non heat-pressing. I did some like that yesterday and it came out so much better. Not bearingboys wheels, but nylon wheels/hubs still.

That was the 3/8" UNF brass nut connector things from eBay (I'd bored them out to 10mm because I needed that) shoved into a 14mm bore. The nuts are about 15mm or so.
-
the steel ones tend to be about 15mm edge to edge and 13 on the flat ive even found some with a tapered
-
What's the grip on the nut like Harry? better than heat pressing? It certainly looks neater from the pictures.
-
Probably not noticeably stronger/weaker. Just much easier to get straight which is very much a good thing.
-
ive gotta manage it with some 1/2 unf nuts on some bearingboy wheels for the new Night fury
-
What drills have a 1/2" UNF output. I ask as I found a box of 1/2" UNF taps today and less messing about with nuts and hubs would be a cool thing.
-
there makita 2 speed drills, i was gonna use them for the dog style bot but after the damage caused to NF i realised it would never survive so their going into the new hdpe NF2 so 15mph and twice the nm torque that the old bot had
-
thanks for the links and the info folks saved me a tone of head scratching indecently will those brass inserts fit on these motors ?

little of topic i know but figured i might aswell ask
-
Yes they will as the Gimsons have the same 3/8 unf thread output shaft as a normal drill motor
-
Rory, not a bad find
The shore value is a little high. The preferred orange or blue ones from banebots are either 40 or 50 shore
Maybe their nylon wheels and bike tread http://www.bilcastors.co.uk/solid-wh...s-c-54_56.html
