Re: Laser 2
Rather than starting a new thread I would rather use this one.
I finally got round to starting work on my new antweight, twister.
I'm going to keep the weapon a secret at the moment, but I assure you it will be good!
I got a bit bored today, so I decide to go into the workshop and see what needs doing.
I got a Baby-Orangutan, as inspired by Jim, as I was in need of a compact and light ESC capable of running 4 motors
I saw the baby-Orangutan, so I wired it up and programmed it, and just now a few tests.
here are the pics and results of the test...

Re: Laser 2
right,
havent done much in ages with laser as i have been so busy and not had access to the workshop for a while. I hadnt really touched Laser since the champs, but the scorpian xxl had broken in it so we have decided to go to hacked brushless esc's. Instead of buying the esc's ready ahcked I decided to hack them myself:
esc opened up

programming pins soldered on
http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...s/DSC00220.jpg
esc's hacked

total money spent =£100 and i saved about £100 doing it myself.
The next thing to do on laser was to change the hdpe base to a 3mm ali base, which was done quite easily.
The other thing I have dont is swapped the lifter motor for a DeWalt drill, this now means it ias about 3x more powerfull and i have an option of 2 speeds.

Re: Laser 2
Those are some really good upgrades! Simple but they could be very effective!
Do you have a link to a 'How To' on hacking those brushless ESC's and where you can get those from as I was going to replace my Electronize with those 85A ESC's.

Really good upgrades man! The ESCs should make a big difference, as they did to ours. And liking the dewalt. :)

Re: Laser 2
You know... I think I will get them pre-hacked, that looks a little beyond me. Or more accurately mu bank balance wouldn't cover any screw ups!
