Heat Semi-Final 15/16:
Ming Die-Nasty v Razer
Ming Die-Nasty gave Mark is first win, can this robot with a useless drill give him his second victory? Mark planned to buy a cloaking device for this fight, but when he went down to the shop they called the police. Mark is currently in hospital listed as unstable.
Razer destroyed Terrorhurtz with ease in the eliminator, and will probably do the same to Ming Die-Nasty here. Ming was once a Razer clone, will the part bird, part reptile, and part machine get revenge here? Or will the two-time world champion decide that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
Booth 1: Mark Elam
Booth 2: Martijn M Benschop
5, 4,3,2,1, SMASH!!
Razer gets the quicker start of the two robots, racing into the centre of the arena aggressively, hungry for Ming! Mark, however, doesn€™t hang around and heads for the pit release button, quickly hitting the tyre with its drill and trying to get away from Razer, who has come in from behind! Mark however turns away just in time and decides to play chicken with the pit like his last opponent did! Martijn comes in cautiously and makes a fake jab so that Mark races away for nothing! Now Razer follows and gets underneath the rear of Ming Die-Nasty and rams Mark into the angle grinder to keep him still before coming down with that dangerous arm and Mark tries to counter the move by raising his srimech, but Razer simply pushes down with far more force and snaps the arm in two! With the srimech out of the way Martijn brings the crusher down again, this time penetrating the body armour of Ming Die-Nasty and lifting Mark high into the air! Martijn reverses away from the angle grinder and toasts Mark on the flame pit, allowing Ming Die-Nasty to feel the heat! Now Ming falls off the crusher and escapes, and Mark makes a break for the perimeter of the pit again, and reaches his destination, only for Razer to come in from behind so as to push Ming away from the pit instead of falling for the desperate ploy. Mark pulls a clever U-turn and heads back off down the arena, but once more Razer pursues and chases Ming into the corner, where it is flipped by the arena spike! Mark is now out for the count, but Martijn is merciless to Ming and comes in with the crusher again, easily crunching into the armour and hoisting Ming€™s corpse into the air for all to see! The crowd roars with delight and Martijn dumps Ming on the floor flipper, where Mark is thrown for the full length of the arena and lands the right way up again, albeit stacked on the wall, from where he cannot move. All the same Razer comes in again and gets the wedge under one side so that Martijn can crush through the other wheels sideways! It€™s a very painful experience for Ming, and now Razer lifts Mark again, this time carrying him over to the pit he himself opened at the beginning of this bout and dumps him into the depths of the abyss!
RAZER GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Another battle of the realies goes Martijn€™s way and the crusher goes through!

Wedginator 6.0 v Wedge Devolution
Heat Semi-Final 16/16:
Wedginator 6.0 v Wedge Devolution
Wedginator 6.0 has been around since 2002 on the RW forums, will these 6 years of experience help the all-around front hinged flipper or will it be lights out?
Wedge Devolution is a very simplistic wedge flipper, but effective! Who will prevail here, the front hinged flipper of Wedginator 6.0 or the rear hinged flipper of Steven McGregor€™s Wedge Devolution?
Booth 1: Kody Kunz
Booth 2: Steven McGregor
5, 4, 3, 2 ,1, SMASH!!
Both wedges get off the mark very quickly and circle each other like hawks, hunting their prey and preparing to strike! It€™s Wedginator that gets the first onslaught, driving in on the attack and using its six wheel drive to shove Wedge Devo into the corner, where Steven is flipped by the arena spike! Kody pushes him again, and he self-rights onto Wedginator€™s flipper, and Kody turns Steven over again! Wedge Devo self-rights, and as he does Wedginator drives in to flip again, but this time Kody is flipped by the spike and Wedge Devo now attacks his flipped adversary, getting underneath just as Kody self-rights, but onto Wedge Devo, who lets it fly!
CRASH!
Kody flies upwards and comes down to earth with a bump onto the angle grinder, and he seems to be beached on there now!
There€™s a spark of malice in Steven€™s eye as he heads towards the stacked Wedginator, who is desperately firing its own flipper into thin air in an attempt to get off the wall! Steven carefully slips his flipping plate underneath the rear scoop of Wedginator 6.0, which looked so good in the eliminator, vanquishing the hot favourite The 6isc. But Wedge Devolution looked just as powerful taking on Woodpecker, and the rear hinged flipper is now poised on the brink of a place in the Heat H final to take on Razer! Easy does it....
Wedge Devo is now fully underneath and Wedginator has given up trying to free itself, perhaps to conserve gas if by some miracle its wheels touch the ground again in this close match. Steven readies himself triumphantly and reaches for the button; his fingers get there and...
FLIP!
Wedginator 6.0 sails over the barrier and out of the competition! Wedge Devolution goes through to the Heat H final to meet Razer for that last place in the series finals! No one perhaps expected that turn-around by Steven McGregor, will he get a second robot into the finals of Robot SMASH!!? He€™s beaten Woodpecker and Wedginator 6.0, to get through he€™ll have to beat Razer the rampaging realie!
A SHORT MATCH AND WEDGE DEVO GOES THROUGH!!
Heat H Final:
Razer v Wedge Devolution
Coming Next: The middleweight final!
Life v Solstice 2.0
Ill go for Wedge to get Razer down the pit.
*gets tin can thrown at him*
Ouch. I phailed in the battle of wedges...
But I shall get my revenge...
Hoowaaaay! :proud:
Now for Razer. Bugger. Use my superior speed to get round the sides and flip it over. Charge back under before it can self-right, aim for the walls and flip like theres no tomorrow.
Special Event- Middleweight Final
Life v Solstice 2.0
Lets look back and see how these two manical middleweights got this far!
1) Life threw Hazard onto its back and out of the heats.
2) Solstice 2.0 had a much tougher draw with Killoteeny, but prevailed by shredding Stevens middleweight creation.
3) Life had a hard battle with Doorstop, but won on a JD.
4) Solstice 2.0 never relented with its endless atttacks on T-Minus, which was left going in circles!
Booth 1: Joey McConnell
Booth 2: Kody Kunz
5,4,3,2,1, SMASH!!
Solstice starts spinning up, but Joey tries a box-rush and storms across the arena, slamming Solstice into the grinder! Kody is ruffled, but quickly runs away and spins up before Life can come in on another onslaught. Now Joey looks worried, as the hunter has become the hunted as Solstice chases Life around the arena, trying to get into that rear armour! But Joey keeps the wedge towards Kody and keeps driving away, and he reverses just to behind the arena floor flipper! But Solstice doesnt fall for it and tries to get around the flipper, but now Life reverses away again! Solstice pursues, and chases Life into the corner, where Joey is flipped by the arena spike! He hits the flipper button to self-right, but as Life bounces back to the ground in comes Solstice 2.0 with the weapon spinning at full power!
CRASH!
That 3mm aluminium baseplate is smashed and Life is slammed into the arena wall, and falls back onto its tracks! Solstice has already spun up again and now crashes into the rear 5mm titanium on Life!
CRASH!
The back panel and wheelie bar are torn clean off, and now Life turns around to attack Solstice before Kody can spin up again!
FLIP!
Over goes Solstice, but Lifes flipper was only under the blades, and without the wheelie bar Joeys middleweight goes onto its back again!
CRASH!
Once again Joey tried to self-right, but was slammed by Solstices powerful weaponry and now it seems a motor has been ripped out from the bottom of Life! Joey self-rights and tries to come back on the attack, but can only go in circles now so Kody spins up again and with Lifes limited movement Joey is out-driven and Solstice slams into the side of Life, ripping that panel off too! And now Life is venting gas, it seems that the nitrogen supply was ruptured by that attack, and now Life is weaponless! The crowd want to count Life out of the middleweight final!
5,4,3,2,1, IMMOBILE!
Solstice does a victory spin and wins the Robot SMASH!! middleweight title!

*tosses silver medal into the air in joy* YAY! I won something...I was kind of expecting to get trashed anyway :P
Good job Kody, good to see your robots are beginning to get the wins they deserve, and good job to Liam for doing some good fights, even if you did mention Lifes wheels when it has tracks :proud:
