Re: 2012 FRA UK Featherweight Championships by RoboChallenge
Ten robots go through from the qualifiers.
They fight in five 1-v-1 battles, leaving five winners.
The five losers go into a big mele with one winner, who rejoins the others, leaving six robots.
The six fight 1-v-1s again, with three winners.
The three losers go into a mele again, with the one winner joining the remaining three contenders.
Then it's just 1-v-1s for the semis, 3rd place play-off and grand final.

Spot on Jamie thanks.
Leonardo yes thats all no problem
If you wish to unload equipment at hall 9 door 9.1 you will first need to get a loading pass from car park 12. Head to Gate 3 on arrival and say you are unloading for the Gadget Show and they will direct you to car park 12. Please arrive early as it can be busy to get passes.
Any other questions just fire them thisa way. I will be at the NEC during the days but will endeavour to answer questions as soon as possible.
Best of Luck guys!

Unlike Jamie, I'm not prepared at all, I still need to wire my whole robot up and will just hope it works
Re: 2012 FRA UK Featherweight Championships by RoboChallenge
Is it possible at all to lathe hardox? We trashed two lathe heads and a milling cutter yesterday trying to lighten the disc!
Yes lighten, Conker is about 600g over weight and the only real place that we can take weight from is the disc, well maybe 300g, and then 300 in holes through out the bodywork :uhoh:
Re: 2012 FRA UK Featherweight Championships by RoboChallenge
Blunted 3 and snapped 2 Cobalt drill bits yesterday trying to lighted Bitza so know how you feel...
Cheers Jamie! So there's a play off for 10th in the qualifiers, then a play off for 6th, and then another for 3rd......
Re: 2012 FRA UK Featherweight Championships by RoboChallenge
2 of ours are ready to go- the other 2 still need wiring up and a couple of other little bits to finish them off.
Shockwave is as near as we can measure it 13.6kg and Inertia XL with the new batteries should be at least half a kg UNDER weight :)
Going to have a last rush today to get Lambda and Aftershock done to give us some time for testing tomorrow before we leave on Friday
Re: 2012 FRA UK Featherweight Championships by RoboChallenge
Not done anything to Explosion, apart from the light repairs around September it's exactly the same as last year :)
We did have a look at the transmitter though, and found that the aerial had been twisted near the end of it's holder, can't believe I've been driving it with such a low signal for two years (since the case snapped off)!
So, that means that it should be flipping perfectly. Over the past few events we increased the flipper's sensitivity due to stray flipping in both the feather and the heavy, but it did mean that sometimes pressing the button wouldn't cause the robot to flip. Not got that problem anymore .

When you find out, let me know. Drumroll is about 11.5kg and Carcinus is lighter still
Re: 2012 FRA UK Featherweight Championships by RoboChallenge
Today we'll stop by David's to get our new batteries and charger (that came to £111!), and to get new plastic/armour. 6mm HDPE will keep NST out, right?
Right!?!?
Also going to pop by the Coopers' workshop to get our forks back into... erm... shape. Or a better shape, at least. The dented buckled broken look isn't quite to our taste.
Tormenta weighs 13.2kg (ish) according to our bathroom scales. Don't know what we'll do if we find it weighs 15kg. Wish us luck, were going to need it to get it battle-ready in time (and to survive said battles).
