Seeing threads elsewhere on chargers made me think about something....

... what steps are being taken to ensure that the power supply at the event is clean enough to run Switched Mode power supplies. I know there are a number of documented instances where the white Technobots PSUs have gone bang when connected to a generator which is I believe what is being used to provide power at Wicksteed Park.

Just wouldnt want to think it hadnt been thought of and see PSUs going up left right and center :)

Any details on the camp site yet, when will it be open, passes, etc.

also, do i get a prize for winning lol? :)
(if Ploughbot has as many problems as it did today i wont get anything :sad: )

Actually the mans got a point - where are the details of prizes etc documented, just searched through the site looking for the answer to post, but there doesnt seem to be one anywhere !

I agree with Karoline, I dont really care for prizes just the satisfaction and recognition for winning.

The competition will last over the 3 days, leading us to one Champion. With some serious prize money up for grabs, a chance for the Heavy weight spinners to show them why they have in the past have been not allowed to run. Who will take over from where Typhoon left off ?????

5 miniute fights will be interesting for other robots, but I dont see how ours could last that long now.

Our batteries have been in the robot for several years, and arent as good as they used to be. A replacement set will be around £500, but I dont even see how we can get one in the robot in time.

The way I see it is we have 2 options, pull out of the event (1st time for anything), or risk loosing our last set of batteries going up in smoke inside the robot. Will have to see what the other team members think.

Do we have an update yet, not had any emails with final details yet?

I have just had to order new batteries, and my pockets running bone dry now :sad:
I dont know whether mine will last a full 5 mins either, and thats why i plan on getting as many people out as soon as i can to make sure i get through the melees. If it was 1 on 1 for feathers it wouldnt have been so bad on the batteries, especially when the fights dont usually last the full length with two robots in the arena. 4 way final will be the worst to keep going in though - as you need to last untill the end.
Although, we cant really moan - thats been the UK limit all along, just can drag on for live events!
