The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
^300th post that ^
Matt has sent me his tactics via IM and due to the nature of the rules for interchangable weapons at the moment, his set-up remains a secret, so you will have to plan for the set-up in your tactics Martyn.
Fights up later tonight, I have just finished the semi finals for AI 2, go and have a look :)
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
can we at least see the rest of his tactics cause its only fair that we have something to go against anyway i am sure i allready posted tactics but will think about a weapon set up and tactics in a minuet
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament

The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
I even got Natural Selection stats for the rest of you :p
Name: Natural Selection
Paint scheme: Green
Wheels: Four, inside
Shape: Boxlike. Scoop on the front, skirts around the sides, the back is rounded to help with self righting.
Dimensions (cm): 80/40/20 (L/W/H)
Weight: 100
Armour: 4mm ti
Weapon: A hydraulic lifting arm with vertical pincers. These are made of titanium and powered by a linear actuator, giving 400 KGs of grip. The arm is 70 CMs long.
Motors: Two Bosch motors.
Batteries: Natural Selection is powered with Hawker Genises batteries, which are placed in the rear to act as a counter-weight
Top speed: 15 mph
Turning circle: Zero
Ground clearance: 7mm
SRIMECH: The arm.
Strengths: Crushing power
Weaknesses: Slow to self right.
Name: Going Crunch (Cluster bot)
Weight: 100kg (55 KG spinner 45 KG flipper)
Dimensions (LxWxH):120 x 30 x 12 joined.
Shape: The flipper is triangular and designed not to flip itself ala Gemini. There is also a lump of metal at the back guarding against that as well. The flipping device is at the point of the triangle and there is a slight scoop. The spinner is same shape only the triangle is cut off with the spinner.
Weapons: A flipper that has the ability to toss opponents far rather than high and a spinner that delivers about 20 KJ energy.
Srimech: The flipper is its own srimech and the spinner has a lifting arm type srimech.
Armour: 4mm Titanium
Top Speed: 14 MPH when joined. Flipper 18 MPH separate. Spinner 14 MPH separate
Main Tactics: At first the robots can be joined with a spinner at one end and a flipper at the other. Then they separate and use a pincer type attack.
Colour: Red with black writing.
Strengths: Ability to use a pincer attack.
Weaknesses: The flipper is quite light and can be pushed around from the back. That€™s where the spinner would need to help.

But in real life, People knew what weapon Tornado was using.
Take Razer, after seeing that Tornado was wearing the cage, they put the extra claw on it.

It€™s been a long time, coming but it€™s time for heat E, which now should be called heat F, but still is heat E.
Heat E, Round 1
Fight the First
From Essex, Call out Hook. Entered by the Scottish Martyn, this robot looks good with an interchangeable weapon to suit the mood. Martyn has taken lead from Supreme Glory Beta Gamma or whatever it was called with a fully rotating axe head, with either an axe or a lifter. However the skirts look open to be ripped off by Mr evil spinner and the weapon is on way.
In Far 8: Didn€™t enter
From England, and 31st seed, Tornado. Entered by Matt M, this world famous interchangeable weapon box is powerful, has good weapons and properly the best control in the world. Matt has selected the weapons of the scoop €˜n€™ flail, electric lifting plate and the drum. However once flipped, Tornado€™s weapons are useless. It can push a lot, but in vapourbot world, 10 mph and only two Bosch 750s are not going to push back Aaron€™s mass ramming machines.
In Far 8: Beat Windy Killer Mk 2 in round 1, but got flipped out of the arena by Flipping Hell in round 2.
From Australia, Megabite Rev 1.0. Entered by team Aussie, this American spinning machine has enough power to move the world. Powered by an ETEK and with decent armour, could the all-American spinner win it for the Aussies? However the pushing power is not the best and I don€™t think it has a self-righter. The weapon could prove to be it€™s winning point for Team Aussie.
In Far 8: Didn€™t enter
Tornado€™s weapon of choice - Wedge with flail
Call out Hook€™s weapon - Lifting arm

ACTIVE
A tad slower start today from last heat, as all the robots start away slowly, but look at the sudden burst of speed from the series 6 and European champions, as Tornado comes out and slams into the side of Call out Hook. Aaron, who today I assume is driving Megabite Rev 1.0 with Tom on the weapons is putting on the speed onto the spinning ring, as Call out Hook turns it€™s weapon around, but Tornado slams it into the arena wall.
Megabite Rev 1.0 starts to move forward, as Martyn gets away from Tornado, as Call out Hook is aiming towards Megabite Rev 1.0, as Tornado is looking for another slam onto Call out Hook. Megabite Rev 1.0 is hit by Call out Hook, but the weapon does sod-all to the spinning shell, as Tornado slams Call out Hook, straight into the arena hammer. The hammer comes down, once, twice, and Megabite Rev 1.0 hits into the rear end of Call out Hook.
The rear skirt stood no chance, and lands in the middle of the arena, as Tornado slams into the rear of Call out Hook, as it€™s weapon comes swinging around to attack Megabite Rev 1.0, as Tornado slams it into the wall once more. Megabite Rev 1.0 has spun it€™s weapon up to speed, and Matt runs away, as Martyn turns and puts on the power, straight into the spinning Megabite Rev 1.0, as the side skirt is ripped clean away. Tornado comes in quickly and slams into Call out Hook, and pushes it into Megabite Rev 1.0. Aaron comes away, as Call out Hook is spun into the wall.
Things are not looking good for Call out Hook, which once more is hit by the spinner of Megabite Rev 1.0, and the side panel is ripped away, the main panel is in one piece, but the bolts have been ripped away with ease, as Tornado slams into Call out Hook and takes it onto a tour of the arena, after pressing the pit release. Megabite Rev 1.0 is spinning away in the background, playing with the Hardox panel. The pit has opened, as Tornado pushes Call out Hook down, 6 feet under.
Cease
Call out Hook is disconnected, Tornado and the impressive Megabite Rev 1.0 moves into round 2.
Fight the Second
From Scotland, Glasgow Kiss. Entered by Scottie Doo :proud:, this really well know vapourbot comes away with an axe. The shape is strange, but due to it, no skirts were available to be fitted onto the main body, exposing the 1 cm ground clearance. However Scottish control and power puts Glasgow Kiss in a league of it€™s own.
In FAR 8: Didn€™t Enter
From England, and 2nd seed, Son of Ripper Mk 4. Entered by Andy, this very unknown vapourbot has the unusual flipper and disc. Now with wheels inside the body, can last year€™s runner up do one better? Andy has changed the flipper back around to the flip-up position, and an x-axle disc. Could the duo prove the part?
In Far 8: Runner up, after beating Raging Knightmare, X-Terminator, Disco 5, Typhoon 2, SD IV, and Tempest Eviloution. Before being pitted by Clawdius Decimus Murderous.
From Nowhere, a Bye. Entered by no-one, this 3 letter word has several meanings, but it€™s the word everybody wants to see in their draw.
Result: Son of Ripper 4 and Glasgow Kiss gets the bye into round 2.
Round 2 Draw
Tornado (31) vs. Glasgow Kiss
Son of Ripper (2) vs. Megabite Rev 1.0
Tactics, Predictions, did you like round 1?
Note: Set-ups for interchangeable from now on, must be posted in here from now one. Failure to do so, will result in last battle€™s setup being used.

Same set-up as before, please.
