Scott that is minging
Suit yourself, dunno why or how I would do that to his achilles anyway...
Yet another heat final battle between the seeds - SOR 4.0 and Achilles!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
There was another crash in the centre of the arena seconds after the buzzer - SOR 4.0 had turned around to whack Achilles in the front with its flywheel, deflecting it, then reversed to hit it in the side! It followed Achilles again, but only glanced it as Achilles moved! Outrunning SOR 4.0, Achilles got ahead, then turned and ran back towards it, trying to turn into its side, but the disc grazed its side as it did so and it was knocked off course again! SOR 4.0 came reversing towards it again, but Achilles just dodged and now brought its arm under the side and hoisted the ninth seed aloft, though not trapping it on the hook! Slowly, it moved SOR 4.0 into the wall and pinned it there, before lowering its arm to try and get the hook under SOR and snag it! SOR 4.0 fired its flipping arm, but didnt quite free itself from Achilless grasp! Once it had its victim caught, the 25th seed quickly moved it into the arena disc, which missed the wheels and didnt do much to the Hardox armour! So Achilles brought SOR 4.0 to the wall again, knocked it a little to get it off the hook, and tried propping it there! But a fire of the arm sent SOR 4.0 away from the wall and back onto the arena floor - it aimed to attack Achilless side, but Achilles turned and they met head on instead!
A pushing match ensued, which resulted in Achilles pushing SOR 4.0 backwards! It began lifting, but it wasnt under the wedge enough, and SOR 4.0 quickly dropped off and swerved in reverse, slashing Achilless side with its disc! Knocked around, Achilles charged the ninth seed, only to get a faceful of disc! SOR 4.0 then tried to get under the slightly battered Achilles, but again Achilles outran it, and as both robots tried turning into each other, they ended up parallel! They turned around together, until Achilless plate slipped under the side of SOR 4.0, and the arm lifted SORs wheels off the ground! SOR 4.0 could only go where Achilles wanted to take it - and that was to the pit release! However, it was close enough to the wall to fire its arm, which pushed Achilles back and SOR 4.0 further up Achilless body, but sadly, not enough to escape! Within seconds, the former champion was resting in the open pit, and Achilles had improved its VFT record again!
CEASE!
ACHILLES GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time on VFT6, eleventh seed Flipping Mad TU will try to send Stinger, Tsunami 2 and Wedga Revo into the unknown!
And 27th seed Wedge Devolution will try to de-evolve Blizzard, Glasgow Kiss and Happy Birthday Party Pooper!
Who was right? I was right! :proud:
HEAT F
ROUND 1
1) Flipping Mad TU (11) VS Stinger VS Tsunami VS Wedga Revo
Ill pick Stinger to be dumped doon the Pit and Tsunami to lose gas before the other two flippers and end up topsey-turvey
2) Blizzard VS Glasgow Kiss VS Happy Birthday, Party Pooper! VS WEDGE DEVOLUTION (27)
Ive been wondering when Id make my glorious return :proud:
Simple tictacs here: flip whoever gets in the way before eventually shoving them down the Pit! Fancy an All-Scot team-up, Mr Anderson?
Supoib stuff as per usual, Richie :)
Ouch, another heat loss. I hope SOR wont be seeded next time now...
Flipping Mad TU vs Stinger vs Tsunami 2 vs Wedga Revo
First of all, I think Im teaming up with Dave in this battle... correct?
Ill first concentrate on pushing Stinger around with my scoop and Ill try to bash it down the pit. Then onto Tsunami, I believe it uses high pressure has, so I should have more flips, and if I team up with Flipping Mad hopefully we can make it run out of gas and Ill dump it in the pit too. What do you say Mr Sheppard?
Im up for an All-Scot Attack, Stevie-Boy!
Ill take out Alex, while you take out Marty :proud:
Ill get some axe blows to try and jam up the weird moving system, while Stevey flips Marty around :proud:
*gives dirty looks to steven*
i shall spin up and attack anyone who gets in my way
You can no more jamm it than you can jamm a heavily armoured axlebot. Go for the lighest armour and outpush them.
Andy, this could possibly be the last VFT, as Im hopefully going to uni next year and I may have limited access to computers. But if there is a VFT7, SOR probably will be seeded, as the heat final is a decent place to get to and its one of VFTs golden oldies.
Welcome to VFT6 - were now well underway with the heats, so lets keep it up, and begin Heat F!
Eleventh seed Flipping Mad TU has a good record in VFT, reaching the top 16 twice! In its last time, VFT5, its predecessor beat Hell Fire and Code 14 with its flipper, to make it past the heat, but lost a close 32-28 decision against Tempest Evil-oution in the semis! Once a walker, Flipping Mad TU is now a wheeler, and a box wedge. Its weapon is a flipping arm split in two - the front half flips, and the rear half selfrights, aided with a fixed ski! Flipping Mad TU uses skid steering for manouverability, has thick armour and excellent acceleration, but it also has a high ground clearance, so it will try to make a flipping unknown with vacuums that hold it to the floor!
27th seed Wedge Devolution is a golden oldie of VFT - it made its debut in VFT5, replacing veteran Wedge 1, but only made it to Round 2 where the speed and power of Hypertension left it in the pit! This Spawn Again-like wedge robot has a rear hinged flipper, with the blade bent at the end to help getting under lower opponents, and the blade can be replaced with a triangular plate for full body spinners! The flipper can comfortably lift a tonne, and Wedge Devolution has skirts to stop itself falling foul of flippers, but there is the age-old problem of limited CO2!
Blizzard is one of VFTs most original robots - Alex Holt clearly isnt frozen to new ideas! Its basically two screws lying parallel to each other, and move by turning - Blizzard can move forwards, backwards and sideways, at a decent 15mph! For weaponry, it has spinning weapons to twist into opponentss armour, but it mainly uses the huge traction that the screws generate! However, one thing this design cant do is turn easily - Blizzard has a turning circle of 3m, just short of Elevens small-swimming-pool turning circle!
Glasgow Kiss, described as a spiritual replacement to VFT5 Round 1 loser Axe Murderer, is shaped like an unevenly squashed oval (from above) and attacks with a double headed axe that wont be as nice as getting a snog when it hits you! The axe can also selfright the robot, and it has tough 7mm titanium armour, but it also has no skirts, although the tie-dye colouring on the armour may confuse robots enough for Glasgow Kiss to kill them before they kill it!
Happy Birthday Party Pooper was a wheeled ring spinner in VFT5, where it reached Round 2 to find itself being whacked around and immobilised by Dervish Quatro! Now its become MDU-esque - a 150kg invertable walker, with a 65kg 1500rpm spinning shell, with 12 teeth divided around it, which has frightening damage potential! HBPP isnt too fast at 10mph, and its easy to push if the weapon stops, but if the weapon doesnt, other robots may still be repairing themselves on their birthdays!
Stinger has entered VFT for the first time after a good record in RW - it came 3rd in Series 4 and has reached two heat finals since then, beating robots like Bulldog Breed, Panic Attack and Fluffy! The problem for opponents is its axlebot design - two wheels, with the components inside them, and a long spiked stick weapon that comes down painfully when Stinger stops! Its impossible for flippers to overturn (although not to OOTA, but you cant do that in VFT), and difficult to attack in other ways, or keep a hold of! Of course, Stingers design also means control can be a problem!
Tsunami 2 didnt get far at all when it entered VFT5, pitted by Killotine Evo in Round 1, but this German robot does have a good record in RW, making the heat final after a series of OOTAs, before X Terminator smashed it! Tsunami 2 is a simple, compact robot with a powerful flipper that also acts as a srimech - will that flipper wash opponents away this time?
And Wedga Revo is another robot returning after VFT5 - in Round 2, it was stopped by eventual champ The Disc 2, who disabled its flipper and then overturned it and left it to die! Wedga Revo is now a cut off wedge like Steg 2, with a scoop that the titanium lifting arm rests inside for protection - the arm produces 540kg of force when it flips, which wont be any fun for the robot its underneath! Wedga Revo is also a good pusher, producing 18hp on six wheels, is skirted, and turns well with skid steering, although not as well as a two wheeled robot!
The first melee is almost an all flipper affair - Flipping Mad TU, Tsunami 2 and Wedga Revo, along with axlebot Stinger!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Flipping Mad TU and Wedga Revo both aimed at Stinger, who began spinning on the spot as Tsunami 2 went for Flipping Mad TU. Flipping Mad TU turned away into Tsunami 2, managing to slip its extension plate underneath then run the arm underneath and get in the first flip of the match! Tsunami 2 landed on its wheels and retreated from Flipping Mad TU, while Wedga Revo was knocked by the spinning Stinger, who then ran into its side and brought the spike down! But Wedga Revo was easily able to move itself, bring Stinger into the scoop and try shoving it into the wall! Stinger began to escape, so Wedga Revo fired its arm, glancing Stinger and sending it tumbling to one side! The axlebot spun again as Wedga Revo advanced again, but Wedga flipped it again, towards the pit area! Meanwhile, Tsunami 2 had managed to reach the side of Flipping Mad TU, who turned on its vacuums, so it was sent up in the air by Tsunamis flip, then straight back down! Tsunami tried flipping again but almost overturned itself! So it just tried to slowly shove Flipping Mad TU towards the pit, straining! Wedga Revo saw this and came to the rescue, attacking Tsunami 2 from behind, flipping and making it bounce off Flipping Mad, onto its back! As the 11th seed started moving again, Stinger went for Tsunami 2 as it selfrighted, hammering it, forcing Tsunami 2 to turn and retaliate, but Stinger was already away!
Unfortunately for Tsunami 2, Flipping Mad TU and Wedga Revo were both approaching from behind! Tsunami 2 was quickly captured by Wedga Revo and flipped, and it rolled towards the pit! Wedga Revo immediately went for the pit release as Tsunami 2 selfrighted, only for Flipping Mad TU to try and shove it in, while Stinger was following and hammering it! Tsunami 2 moved away then tried to pit Flipping Mad, who just got its plate underneath again, shoved Tsunami 2 against the wall and began trying to turn it towards the pit. But Tsunami 2 got off and ran into Flipping Mads side and flipped it upwards! Flipping Mad turned on its vacuums again, but ended up attaching itself to Tsunami 2, tilting the other robot off the ground! With both robots stuck, Stinger could gleefully try to pit them both, but failed, so just got in a bash - then suddenly had to defend itself as Wedga Revo aimed to pit it! As it rolled off the scoop, Wedga Revo tried flipping it towards the pit! Landing on the edge, Stinger started running, but Wedga Revo quickly gave it a shove! Stinger dangled precariously over the edge - and the pit closed before it could fall in! Wedga Revo flipped it against the wall in frustration!
With the pit closed, Flipping Mad TU turned off its vacuums for fear of being counted out, causing Tsunami 2 to touch the ground and begin running it towards the release! Flipping Mad fired its arm to try and nudge itself off Tsunami 2, only for Tsunami to give it a flip onto its back! Flipping Mad quickly selfrighted, moved a little to show its mobility, then turned the vacuums on, causing Tsunami to misflip and overturn itself! Originally going for the release to pit Stinger, Wedga Revo rushed in to try and attack, throwing Tsunami 2 over Flipping Mad TU so it could move again, pinning Tsunami 2 against the wall after it selfrighted! Stinger came in on Flipping Mad TUs side, attacking but not causing much damage, but Wedga Revo hit the release and rushed in to shove it! Stinger rolled off again and whacked Wedga Revo in the side after it mistimed a flip - meanwhile, Flipping Mad TU manouvered the helpless Tsunami 2 to the pit and finally eliminated it! Wedga Revo and Stinger were both turning around together, so Flipping Mad TU came in to help, aiming for Stinger! Stinger reversed but was caught on the 11th seeds arm and flipped away! Wedga Revo chased Stinger, got the arm under and flipped it, but the pit was already closed, and as Wedga Revo went for it again, Stinger spun on one wheel to escape - and went right into Flipping Mad TU, who also tossed it! This allowed Wedga Revo to slam Stinger against the wall again, then flip it as it tried to escape! Flipping Mad TU pursued Stinger, who retreated, then rolled off Wedga Revos charge and ran into Flipping Mads side to give it a whacking! As Wedga Revo came in again, Stinger dodged so it hit Flipping Mad TU instead and almost propelled it into the wall, allowing Stinger to give it a sting in the rear! Wedga Revo reversed and knocked Stinger aside - the axlebot went for Flipping Mad TU but was caught by Wedga Revo and given another glancing flip, which took it onto Flipping Mad TUs rear! Rolling off, it hit Flipping Mad TU in the side as time ran out!
CEASE!
Aggression: FMTU - 3, Stinger - 3, Wedga - 4 (Wedga was the most aggressive, while Stinger had moments of retreating and FMTU played defensive with its vacuums)
Damage: FMTU - 1, Stinger - 8, Wedga - 1 (not much damage in this fight - Stingers weapon caused the most, while FMTU and Wedga get marks for scuffs caused by the flipping)
Strategy: FMTU - 5, Stinger - 2, Wedga - 3 (FMTU had the most strategy, using its vacuums and the pit - Wedga also used the pit, while Stinger just attacked with little strategy)
Control: FMTU - 4, Stinger - 2, Wedga - 4 (FMTU and Wedga had good control, while Stingers was a little iffy)
Style: FMTU - 3, Stinger - 3, Wedga - 4 (FMTU and Wedgas flips were stylish, but Wedga got in more, and Stingers spinning and whacking also had some style)
Dominance: FMTU - 3, Stinger - 3, Wedga - 4 (Wedga did the most attacking and flipping, while Stinger attacked but was knocked about a bit, and FMTU was just using its vacuums and not attacking at some moments)
Final Score: Flipping Mad TU - 19, Stinger - 21, Wedga Revo - 20
Flipping Mad TU and Tsunami 2 are eliminated!
STINGER AND WEDGA REVO GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
More varied in Melee 2 - flipper Wedge Devolution, screwbot Blizzard (I invented a new word!), axer Glasgow Kiss and spinner Happy Birthday Party Pooper!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Wedge Devolution went rushing towards Happy Birthday Party Pooper, who scuttled away to get its shell spinning, while Blizzard screwed towards Wedge Devolution but was intercepted by Glasgow Kiss! Glasgow Kiss began axing the screw, as Blizzard turned to sideways movement and shoved it back! Meanwhile, Wedge Devolution had brought its blade under HBPP and flipped, being spun away but tilting HBPP and sending it bouncing into the arena disc, slowing the disc down as HBPP continued to bounce! It began stabilising, but Wedge Devolution came straight under and threw it into the wall, making it bounce off as the arena vibrated, so the 27th seed could just flip again! Its shell slowed, HBPP rolled on its side for a moment before coming down on its legs, and Wedge Devolution thrust it into the wall! HBPP scuttled off the wedge but tilted on the side, its legs going in midair! Meanwhile, Blizzard had taken Glasgow Kiss right into the wall, before trying to turn and use its weapons, but Glasgow Kiss easily dodged and came in at the rear to try axing between the screws - it failed to jam them, and Blizzard just carried on pushing! It suddenly moved forward towards the pit release, causing Glasgow Kiss to follow and go for its sides! Wedge Devolution took advantage of the now open pit, taking Happy Birthday Party Pooper round in a curved path and with a spectacular flip, bouncing it into the pit!
Now the 27th seed could turn its attention to Blizzard, who was shoving fellow Scot Glasgow Kiss around towards the pit as well! Wedge Devolution moved towards Blizzards other side, only for Blizzard to come forward and glance the Hardox with its spinners! Surviving with scratches, Wedge Devolution got to the other side and overturned Blizzard onto Glasgow Kiss! Glasgow Kiss began running Blizzard towards the pit, but the pit closed and Blizzard quickly screwed its way off, then tried to bring the spinners into Glasgow Kiss as well, who dodged! Wedge Devolution opened the pit again, but Blizzard was already on its way out of the zone! Both Scottish Vapours chased it, Wedge Devolution managing to catch up and throw it against the wall, then start flipping it towards the pit, but again the pit closed! The problem was quickly solved when Glasgow Kiss pressed the release - Wedge Devolution intercepted Blizzards attempt to escape, throwing it against the north wall, then back towards the pit! On the edge, Blizzard started coming away, only for Wedge Devolution to give it a flip straight up, and then straight down, onto HBPP and out of the battle!
CEASE!
Blizzard and Happy Birthday Party Pooper are eliminated!
WEDGE DEVOLUTION AND GLASGOW KISS GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
