What kind of size ram is that and what motors are you using for the drive?
the ram is 50mm bore 100mm stroke fp, the motors are speed 900s
Id just like to add folks that i have given permission to Harry to make a bot i designed as an AW
Dr Thwack will be performing surgery, DEATH SURGERY very soon
pick anything up today jonny?
oh yes he did, i was called in with the promise of a visit to pounland to get the bloody thing out of the car and stick it in the shed. boy is that thing rusty  someone has also welded the flipper shut so its angle grinding time
i think i may have tetanus now :uhoh:
any pics?
overall condition is good, most of the frame is rusty but the armour panels are actually quite rust free. most of the bolts need replacing aswell. for some reason the flipper is welded shut at 1 point (about an inch of weld) so will need to grind it off. hinge could do with replacing aswell. most of the armour is covered with a layer of 4mm polycarb which is nice. it currently weighs approximately 65kg. all in all it's a nicely designed machine in need of some tlc and a large amount of time with a wire brush :)
pictures will happen soon
funny, i got told my shell is 25kg
mine will probably be in much the smae way :)
when are you collecting yours matt? i assume 25kg is a typo/miscalculation, i don't see how a heavy shell of that size armoured in 3mm mild steel could weigh just 25kg! forgot to mention before, my one has bosch 750 mounts aswell :) really love how it looks, it's alot more compact than metanoia aswell, we managed to get it in the boot without folding down the seats!
Mine is arriving Monday but il not sure how the insides if mine are, I'll have to see when it gets here really :)

and the small one:

edit: the side and top pannels aren't screwed on, merely laid in place as i had already removed them and couldn't be bothered screwing them back on at this hour.
also looking for name suggestions :)
Undead penguin
The Pengiun reaper / The Grim Penguin
I think simply Combat Penguin would work well
Death & the penguin.
It's a surreal Russian novel from 1996.
Mr. Popper's ultimate penguin.
P-P-Pick up a pick up a Penguin.
Or my personal favourite, Pingu :)
the small ones mine any name suggestions ?
mini grim?
thanks for all the name suggestions guys! i have decided that it will run a low pressure high flow system, 120mm bore, 120-180mm stroke. will get the grinder out next weekend and remove most of the rust. it will probably be repainted white and black (penguin colourscheme :)) and a picture of a pug slapped on there for good measure
2 different approches to them jonny, mines a high pressure system with a 70mm bore 200mm stroke ram and will be kept original colours appart from name change. and with a 4.5kg main tank and 2kg buffer, a lot of flips :)
have you got yours yet mat?
slight problem with delivery but so its arriving thursday in 2 packages
here is my feather atm, just got the pannels cut.

what do you think then, any criticisms?
nice
thanks :)
Do other bots sit on the front ok? Seems like there is a lot of space that they can get in behind/beside the flipper/ Maybe a Ripper style wedge would be good on the front?
plan is to be driving while lifting so they kind of go up and over or just be tipped
How about Raging Penguin?Quote:

looks nice, how much lifting power has it got?
well, started work on the dove from above today, making the led powerlight is proving very fun! :D
what do you think of it?

ingnoring my own ideas already, will set aside some money for getting a disc made for me, hopefully around £120
http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/a...inner2cad4.jpg
Looking good, but if I'm not mistaken, you would get better hits with less teeth. With just 2, or even 1, all of the weight of the disc gets rammed into one blow. If you have 4, say, you would probably lock onto a robot comfortably but the blows would be spread out over 4 teeth. I mean, you get more energy into one impact with less teeth than you do with more, which is why more teeth are used on cutting weapons, as you get a slicing action as against to a SMASH HUGE EXPLOSION type action with few teeth.
Of course, maybe you want to slice and not demolish, in which case you want more than 4 teeth.
the disc needs a bit more work, it was just stuck on so i could see what it looked like
ditch the 4wd and use a bigger disk
decided on the name 'Altus' for grim reaper :)

How many spinners are there that exist with only 1 tooth? I know Professor Chaos has only one tooth
savage evo ( a robot of similar design). grinded off a bit of rust today from grim reaper feather thing and altus, didn't do much as tired and the novelty off sparks soon wore off
