Does this hardox make my bum look big? :P
EDIT: I guess its not the best time to mention that the big hardox arse probably won't feature on the new chassis? :|
Good news though is that it will be replaced with a titanium arse instead - one that will have 12mm of polypro underneath that for good measure :)
Nice!! more space and weight in there :)
Throw that hardox wedge on bullseye then to give it more of a fighting chance
Whens the new spinner coming out to play Gary?
Don't think Bullseye's gonna go any further. Too light and small for any development. I'll probably put the chassis back in the form of Mini-Rover (footy guides etc). The robot my dad can drive will be Incisor/Cuddles but that'll be after the tag champs, by which point I'll hopefully have Snakebite running for George to drive.
The hardox wedge will still be used on Drumroll Mk.1 as I want to keep that as a back-up/whiteboard machine. Once I've got cash to spare I'll probably get Kenny to conjure up another drum so I've got one per machine.
:)
as soon as I can find around a grand for new parts and the time to put it together properly. I'm hoping next years FW champs but I make no promises. This one will make hornet look cuddly Tom :)
im still on the hunt for a team mate for this event :?: :?: :?:
partner for crumple zone the crusher
im also planning a dragster which i believe might mean my partner doesn't need to build one BUT IM NOT SURE :?: :?:
So anyone????
alex
Aftershock & Whirlpool will be needing partners for this event so Crumple Zone can go with one of them if you like.
cool i would be happy to pair up with aftershock seems like a good rbot from how many fights it has won and the third place at the champs
right for the sign up does each person do a sign up? and build their own dragster?
cheers Will
yes please if both partners could sign up separately but specify who their partner is that would be great please. yes both partners to build a dragster, there is space to say which one catagory your building one for.
some more info to come very soon!
James please clarify that it is one dragster per team.
ALL competitors that wish to enter the Tag Team Championships MUST enter at least one catagory of the Power Tool Drag racing event.
event rules here - http://home.btconnect.com/priorycastor/signup.htm
so 1 team needs 2 dragsters?
yeah, 1 robot = 1 dragster
yes one 'tag team' made of 2 robots requires 2 dragsters. 1 dragster per competitor.
So, if we were to enter 2 robots in different tag teams would we have to build 2 dragsters??
I misunderstood the entry conditions, i thought that it was 1 dragster per team, plus £10.00 per robot to enter.Under the current financial climate i cannot run to the expense of £30.00 plus 3 dragsters plus travel food and accomadation. We have discussed long and hard about this and have come to the decision that Wendy and myself will have to let our tag team partners down as we will no longer be entering our robots for this event.Subject to confirmation from Alex's partner we will still attend with Tiny Toon.
We would have quite happily entered all 3 robots but are unhappy at having to build 3 dragsters to enter when we primarily want to fight robots. One per team would have been a bit of fun, but keeping three robots running, whilst also building three dragsters is just to much, financially and time wise.
I think this is where the confusion sets in. That's quoting Grant from 1st May.Quote:
1 dragster per team is perfectly fine
I too misunderstood the entry conditions it seems, as I thought since the £10 and dragster entry covered the requirements for the whole team, I could enter two robots without the need for an additional dragster.
Glad i made a dragster ages ago at college for a project, otherwise i wouldnt of bothered.
Jamie- it doesnt bother me if a flipper wins aslong as its not john lears. Id hate even more for a 13.6kg block on wheels to win...Zzzz
well johnno was not going to make a dragster so was going to try make 2 but 3 ahhhh
why dont u want us to win ? mr turb lol ;)
we have to defend the championship its just which beauty has the new goodies on ;)
I Think This is going a bit far .............
My understanding was that each Team entering the compertition had to build a powertool dragster .... ( Fair enough ) This will increase the number of enteries which i think was a condition of silverline giving you the venue for the tag team champs....
Entery fee £10 ok so this is ok too ....
But now it appears that its £10 per robot + a dragster this a bit un fair i think
we and a lot of other teams have more than 1 robot which means you are getting more than 1 robot turn up for a team but the cost far out ways the reason for entering .
I Think that £10 per team and 1 dragster per team is fair and what i and other thought, you will still be getting more dragsters turn up ie extra's from teams compeating in the tag team champs . .. But if its £10 per robot + a dragster i Know i will not be in a position at this time to enter after all there is a credit crunch going on amongst other things ....
Not only this but it seems our partners are pulling out too .....
ahhh ok
well as john L was building a drag, and i didnt have to as im his tag team partner, i was up for the event again,
But now, wanting to enter Rip Evo, and Stripper 2, and having to pay £20, and having to build two drag racers for an event to get my robot trashed with no prize money and no audience isn;t appealing anymore!!
Have fun guys !
Hello all,
The rules are meant exactly how they are written.
ALL competitors that wish to enter the Tag Team Championships MUST enter at least one catagory of the Power Tool Drag racing event.
This is not all 'Tag teams'. this is all 'competitors'.
However as grant has said earlier and has been qouted (1 dragster per team is perfectly fine)
, we decided to allow 1 dragster to cover your 'team' (for those who build more than one robot this is for you) it does not cover the 'tag team'.
@ Will have you signed me yet?
I have signed up
?????
Sorry for the confusion, things have seemed to have gotten mixed up so i will clarify for you.
We wont require you to build more than 1 dragster per FRA membership. So, take Clive as an example, he will only need to build 1 dragster for team toon even with the entry of 3 robots, but it does require his tag team, partner to build atleast one aswell. This goes for the entry fee also.
I hope that clears things up.... We have been trying to make things easier as time goes on with the rules we have been given, Ideally we would not want to make it a requirement of entry for each team to build a dragster but this is not our decision.
@ Alex- I have just signed up.
Also if it gets built in time and its ok with Alex, I might swap Aftershock for Whirlwind- its another FP flipper but with a lot more power (up to 1400kgs from 400kgs on Aftershock) should be enough to send those spinny things out of the arena :proud:
Whirlpool is still looking for a partner, anyone interested??
Better start building the Toonimator then,It should please Mr Moulds.
Above post was me..... didnt realise it was logged into james's account :proud:
Whats that going to be clive? And is it going to have that spinner bar on it that u was on about?
alas just an HDPE box with attachments, but it will disintegrate nicely.
Ok So Lets get this straight now once and for all in plain english .....
Am I right now in saying it's 1 dragster + £10 per (FRA) team regardless of how many robots they bring (enter) so long as each robot in the tagteam has a dragster present forming 2 robots (tag team) and 2 dragsters ...
So one team with say 3 robots + 1 dragster the 3 robots share the dragster ???
That's my understanding of it now Pete, but James or Grant will no doubt double confirm, just to be sure
Thats how i understand it as well
Seems that way guys reading all the posts. Now get building! :)
Correct
hoorayy! :D
get building guys theres some serious cash to be won!
looking for a strong tag partner for my 6wd rambot with elec lifter fw, if you want a robot to take out the spinners for you, mine will be it :proud: full bore and flat out.
would like to be paired up with a strong flipper or spinner really.
out of interest a serious question if i cant find a tag partner can i just go in on my own?
i dont mind
I might bring a spare robot along for sumbody to use if the numbers arnt even on the day.
cool, ok tom
