Pretty much the oldest one on the circuit. Will experience help it out in the warzone?

Melissa: This is Drilla Killa, I presume.
Richard: Yes it is, it's got a wedge at the front and an inverted at the back, and drills inside of them to ram and damage other robots.
Melissa: And this is the oldest robot on the circuit right now?
Richard: I'd like to think so, yes.
Melissa: Then give it all for the golden oldies.
Richard: Definitely will, thank you.
It's 8 years old, this machine, but its motives are the same. 6 wheel drive and Perm 080s propel this beast to 17mph, and it can ram other robots with either the front wedge or the drill that comes out of it. Flip it over, it's pretty much the same, and its Hardox armour looks quite nice too, but the wheels are exposed at the top.

Steve: The rundown is that this robot has two spinning rings, one on top of the other, m'dear. One spins one way, the other spins the other. If that makes sense.
Melissa: I might have to think about it. Err...this robot is inspired by the London Underground?
Steve: Quite possibly.
Melissa: And you're certain it'll do well against Drilla Killa?
Steve: Yes indeedy. Good to be going up against Richie again to be honest.
Melissa: Good luck to you both, then. Should be good.
Steve: 'Twill be.
Like its opponent, Hardox composes the armour. Unlike its opponent, however, Magmotors power the drive and Lynch motors power the weapons...Team Braveheart claims it will be easier to drive with its weapon set-up, but we'll see. It's invertible, but that means that, again, its wheels are exposed to attack from above.

And so the second fight of the tournament begins! It's Drilla Killa 7 on the attack first, shooting out like a bullet towards the newcomer spinner known as Mornington Crescent...only to find that the spinner is no longer at its starting position! Drilla Killa turns around to find Steve's spinner moving around, trying to avoid the wedge of Drilla Killa, but Richard's got the wedge pointed right at Mornington Crescent, and now bears down upon it with shocking speed! Mornington Crescent is unable to get out of the way fully, and is nailed by the wedge on the edge, sent to the side of the rammer and away, still spinning, as Richard turns and moves in to attack again. Steve directs his spinner away, and is able to fully dodge the charge of Drilla Killa this time, and finally manages to slam into the side of the ramming machine! The skirt takes the brunt of the hit from the lower spinning ring and nearly gets shaved off the side! The upper ring can't seem to hit Drilla Killa, however, as the hit skirt is still blocking Mornington Crescent. Drilla Killa sees its chance and turning around it bores into the double ring spinner, scooping it onto the wedge, and slams it into the arena wall!
CRASH!!!
That can't have been good. Mornington Crescent is propelled across the arena from that single hit, its upper ring stopped, as it comes to rest directly on the floor flipper. As no robot has yet been counted it, it does not activate, but Steve is keen not to have any tricks played on him and gets his machine away before they do happen. Drilla Killa sees the spinner recovering and comes flying into the onset; again it seems futile for Mornington Crescent to get away as the wedge thunders into the half-sped-up lower ring and sends Mornington Crescent into the air in a great bounce. As soon as it lands, Drilla Killa reverses into it and starts to it push it around...unforuntately, this is allowing Mornington Crescent's lower spinning ring to get back up to speed, since nothing is impeding it! Realizing his mistake, Richard tries to turn and attack, but Steve is much too quick, and seconds later the previously damaged skirt parts with the side of Drilla Killa, sending it away across the arena! Drilla Killa isn't too happy at this point and gets the wedge back in play now, ready to deliver some whoopin' and hollerin' on Mornington Crescent's case :proud: ...but the upper spinning ring is back at full speed. Richard knows he can't be too reckless and so keeps the wedge facing his enemy, knowing Steve must make the first move. And indeed Mornington Crescent is trying to get around the rammer...and now he seems to be succeeding! Drilla Killa isn't turning fast enough! Steve pours on the pressure and guns Mornington Crescent, its lower spinning ring now at strength, towards the now exposed side of Drilla Killa, who can't get the wedge in the zone fast enough!
CRASH!!!
It's the side of the wedge that gets the blow, hardly taking even a scratch, though. But Mornington Crescent isn't done. The attack's left the side open for another blow, which Steve jumps upon!
CRASH!!!
The upper spinning ring smacks Drilla Killa now, sending the oldbie flying across the arena! There's a noticable dent in the side of Drilla Killa now, but it seems there's not too much damage done, so it comes back on the attack...only to find the spinner very much alive and very much up to speed again! Richard can't believe how tough the fight has become, but steels himself for another bout as Drilla Killa flies into the storm of spinning metal that is Mornington Crescent. Or it would have, if Steve hadn't moved his machine away from the charge yet again! This leaves Drilla Killa's other skirt exposed...which is not good for a certain Mr. Southworth! And it definitely isn't, as the skirt is slashed and gashed open by the hit...but once more, Mornington Crescent can't get the upper ring to hit the side, as the skirt juts out far enough to stop it...and the lower ring has stopped. Opportunity is screaming in Richard's head and he takes it! The wedge finds the ring and sneaks under it, delivering Mornington Crescent to Taki III's CPZ!
CRASH!
Now Taki bears the mark...a very small one, mind you, of Mornington Crescent. Drilla Killa keeps it there, unrelenting, and unwilling to let it roam free, as Renegade slouches over. Taki's wedge raises, sending Mornington Crescent into the air, balanced upon both wedges. Drilla Killa backs off slightly, lest Mornington Crescent fall on top of him, as Renegade finally makes its way over and shunts Drilla Killa aside. Richard gets the message and heads for the pit release button as Taki shoves Mornington Crescent into the claws of Renegade. Steve furiously flips the controls as masterfully as he can but it's no use; the claws grasp hold of his robot, or rather, claw (the other one being unable to grab it), and drag it over to one of the Discs of Death! Drilla Killa nails the pit release button, signalling the lowering of the pit, and heads back over, as the axe of Renegade falls and WHACK! lands right on Mornington Crescent's back! Luckily, no wheels were hit, but that's loosened Renegade's grip on Mornington Crescent! Steve doesn't wear the relieved face for long though...Richard had not been idle, and Drilla Killa greets Mornington Crescent with a massive collision that sends the spinner flying back into an empty CPZ! Drilla Killa follows it and traps it there, and now figures it's safe to use the drill. Indeed it is, as neither ring can spin up! Ping Ping Ping goes the 'drilla' against the underbelly of Mornington Crescent, and Steve's a'sweatin'! :proud: Drilla Killa backs off now, recalling the drill, but before Mornington Crescent can even thinkof escaping, it's rammed again by the oldbie and...sent over top of it! Unfortunately, it's right at Drilla Killa's back and is pushed away towards the middle of the arena. The lower ring begins spinning again, but Drilla Killa is moving so fast Steve can't even try and turn! BZZT! ...or can he?! What a move! Mornington Crescent, side-on, helped steer Drilla Killa towards a arena killsaw, and left the robot stunned! Mornington Crescent makes the most of its chance!
CRASH!!! CRASH!!!
The previously (and slightly) damaged side takes two savage blows for both rings, and, awkwardly enough, sends Drilla Killa in a straight path away from Mornington Crescent, its side looking a bit more dented than before. It's along the wall, too, so it is unable to recover before Mornington Crescent gets back to speed, which it does! Richard decides the pit is his best option now, and goes around back of it, Steve in pursuit. Drilla Killa turns around, making sure the wedge is facing Mornington Crescent, before backing around the pit edge and dodging a charge from - GAH! Renegade has...flung itself down the pit! What a cheeky manoeuvre, planned or not, by Richard...Mornington Crescent swerves around the pit, Steve slightly nonplussed by the scene but generally ignoring it and keeping his eyes on the current scene. Then Drilla Killa charges! Steve, taken unawares by this sudden daring, is caught by the wedge and flung...into the CPZ! Drilla Killa moves in quickly, but Mornington Crescent is just able to sneak away, and then deals another blow to Drilla Killa!
CRASH!!!
Again that same side took a'hammerin', and now Drilla Killa goes a'dancin' across the arena floor! :proud: Thankfully it just manages to stay out of the pit, but can't stop Mornington Crescent's lower ring from getting back to speed, but charges in anyway. Steve is unable to get away in time, and is smashed against the CPZ. Taki is coming back over and Richard backs off to let the house robot get her dues...only to find Mornington Crescent sneak past both of them! In a rage Drilla Killa chases after the spinner, but it's spun up and out in the open, which is just what Steve needs, and this extra room for manoeuvring allows Mornington Crescent to evade the charge of Drilla Killa, slashing the remaining skirt and sending it flying off! The upper ring continues to spin...until it connects with Drilla Killa's right side!
CRASH!!!
And now that side's taken some damage! That, and it's sent Drilla Killa flying once more! Plus his front wedge isn't looking too hot from all those glancing blows on the front! Realizing this, Richard turns his machine around, and wearily comes at Mornington Crescent with the rear inverted wedge...Steve nimbly dodges the charge again and buries both spinning ring blades into the left side in quick succession!
CRASH!!! CRASH!!!
A lot of dentage, but no holeage or gashage, on Drilla Killa, meaning the Hardox is putting up reasonably well with the blows, but the force of the blows continues to send Drilla Killa hurtling across the arena once more! And I do believe we are running low on time, here...

...only to find it was a feint, and that Drilla Killa is coming at it again -

Same tactics as with Drilla Killa; outmanouever Disco and attack the sides, hopefully tearing off a skirt or two. Keep battering it till it stops moving. If I'm feeling particularly brave or desperate, I'll try attacking the flywheel too, preferably from an angle. In the battle of the spinners, horizontal > vertical. :wink:

Andy Jackson's tiny terror has quite the force with a invertible box-wedge shape design, 1.5mm polycarb armour with a mm of titanium on the front wedge, and Servo power. Its rounded edges also help it keep on its wheels. It's nothing fancy, it just hits stuff. Pushy little git, innit? :proud:

This annoying baby has 3mm MDF armour and 1mm polycarb, and has a nasty Servo-powered flipper. Solarbotics gear motors and Lipo battery drive this tyrant, so be very careful, or you'll be lying flat on your back, and hearing those manacing words: VICTORY IS MINE! :proud:

AW Champion of Robot Wars Series 4! It's got a vertical flywheel powered by an 80 watt gearbox motor, and 10mm motors and a Lipo power the drive. Its chassis is a mix of titanium, delrin, and spring steel, so you can be sure this little'un's got some Mortal Kombat to dish out, and take. :proud:

It's Behemoth! Or is it? The miniature creation of Kane Aston's features a bucket scoop like its bigger self, electrically powered, and it has polycarb armour. Servo motors also run this dude's drive, but NiMH cells power the motors. Will Anty B live up to its 2002 reputation? :proud:
Now, because the antweights are so small, the main arena is much too big: they'd be flying around, unable to hit each other for minutes at a time! So the solution we've come up with is to chuck the main arena for them, and use a 2m x 2m arena instead. It has a drop-off zone at one of the sides, and the walls be two layers of 15mm polycarbonate. So, let's get stuck in, shall we?

House robots? What are you, mad? :proud: Of course not.

Oh...dear. :proud: They're off already, and zipping around the little arena like anxious first-graders running after an ice-cream truck! :proud: Anty B seems to be the quickest, and tries to get under Stewie, but misses as the Team Hell robot scoots away to take on MicroForce. CombatANT, blade whizzing maniacally, heads for Anty B, only to find that the micro-Behemoth is now gone! Such disappearing acts, eh? :proud: MicroForce is in Stewie's face immediately, and we get our first meeting of the match, as the flipper and wedge meet. Unfortunately for Andy, it's the flipper that wins out this time and Stewie slides under MicroForce's figure, tossing it! WHOA! I had forgotten the physics of antweights, it seems... :proud: MicroForce just went flying into the air, almost hit the ceiling, and came back down wedge first! Hopefully it didn't get too harmed, but now here's Anty B with the attack on MicroForce, sliding under and slamming it into the wall! MicroForce needs to get away, and does so, bouncing out of CombatANT's reach, the spinner angered by the quick escape, and so attacks the rear of Anty B! It spins around quick enough, but not quick enough to dodge the disc! BANG! Yikes! Anty B and CombatANT have lift-off! :proud: Both robots land back on their wheels, but Anty B looks to be okay after that...only to see CombantANT's weapon spun right back up to speed again! But that's just fine by MicroForce, who catches the spinner off-guard and slams into the rear...sending it towards Anty B! Anty B tries to move away, but he doesn't need to: Stewie's barged in and, trying to attack CombatANT, hits Anty B instead! BANG! The flywheel hits Stewie's side armour and sends both Stewie and Anty B flying into the air, and also knocked CombantANT off of MicroForce! Andy tries to go after CombantANT again, but Team Termite have put a really accelerative weapon on their winning AW, and it shows in this battle as it's back up to speed again! MicroForce backs off, but as it does so, CombatANT advances. Anty B, having righted itself, flies in between the two randomly, Stewie following it and suddenly smacks into MicroForce's side. Dave fires the flipper and MicroForce gets another taste of air, indeed a huge taste as it's again nearly touched the ceiling and comes straight down onto its wheels. But Stewie isn't out of the woods, as Anty B and CombatANT close in on it...but CombatANT completely misses its attack! :proud: Anty B suddenly rushes forward and by fate, skill, or just god-given luck, he smacks into CombatANT's side, and pushes him towards the drop-off area! MicroForce seems what is happening and goes in to take advantage...as does Stewie! The RW4 AW champ struggles to no avail, and a second later, Anty B has dropped him down the hole! But before it can even celebrate its accomplishment, MicroForce rams into the mini-Behemoth, and sends it down as well! :proud: Just for sheer annoyance, Stewie pushes into MicroForce from behind and sends them both down as well. :proud:
CEASE!
CombatANT and Anty B are eliminated!
MicroForce 3.0 and Stewie advance to the Semis!

Steve: Well, old bean, I'm not sure you can beat both of them, considering I have quite the big advantages.

Now that is quite the speedy start, as both robots have taken off from their positions at lightspeed! :proud: Disco 5 is immediately chasing down Mornington Crescent with the flipper, but before the champ can strike, Mornington Crescent nips around the flipper, its manoeuvrability superior to the champion's! Realizing his mistake, Martyn reverses his machine quickly before Steve can make good on the threat, and it leaves Mornington Crescent wide open! This time, Mornington Crescent can't get out of the way in time and is collected onto the flipper...while still spinning! Martyn, not too keen on letting his opponent ride further up onto the wedge and hit the vertical, fires Disco 5's flipper, sending Mornington Crescent across the floor, and Steve's bot lands on its back several feet away. As it tries to get a sense of direction, Disco 5 crashes into it again and repeats the process; Mornington Crescent is right-side-up again, but seeing its opponent attacking again, it instantly moves forwards...which is straight into Disco 5! However, it's a lucky break for Steve, as Disco 5 is unable to fire the flipper in time as Mornington Crescent goes up the wedge thrice, and the lower spinning ring hits Disco 5's flywheel!
CRASH!!!
Stars and glory! Or, rather, sparks and unglory, as Disco 5 sends up a mess of both, the force shunting Mornington Crescent right in front of the champ, and ripe for picking! And despite the shock, the champ moves in again! Collected onto the wedge a fourth time, Steve's spinner can't do much of anything at the moment, except wait until Disco 5 is done taking it to...an empty CPZ. There goes the Crescent roll :proud: and both house robots slowly exit their own CPZs to attack Mornington Crescent...but Disco 5 won't leave the spinner alone! Up it goes again, the flipper, as it pushes Mornington Crescent onto the wall...is this it? Mornington Crescent is stacked on the wall, but wait! The upper...errr...whichever ring is now upper, is spinning! So Steve's bot still has some movement, but only in its weapon...and it isn't looking like it's helping any! The centrifical force is not enough to get Mornington Crescent off the wall, and sensing the exit of another robot, The Watcher is in da house, shunting the now-first Series Semi-Finalist aside as it begins the countdown to what should have been a much longer and exciting fight...

This mobile gene pool's back for a second shot! Will it go all the way or is it full of gas? :proud:
Melissa: So, what improvements have you made since last series?
Paul: None. It was bad luck that I ran into Achilles, that's all, and that was a close fight in itself.
Melissa: So it's still the same flipping arm from C&B3?
Paul: Indeed it is. I'm gonna flip that Darkestar into subconsciousness.
Melissa: Subconsciousness...?
Paul: Sorry, unconsciousness.
Melissa: Riiight...do good for the audience, okay?
Paul: You got it.
The bronze medallist returns rather unchanged. It can toss over a tonne with its Nitrogen-powered flipper, but it has very limited flips. Good Hardox monocoque armour, side and rear titanium skirts, and strong MagMotor drive power tally up some strong points about why this bot has its current ranking. The stats say it is invertible, but the low height of this robot sings a different tune. Not like it matters exceedingly much; it CAN self-right. :proud: As said, though, flips are few, so it must be careful about passing gas. :proud:
C&B1: Didn't compete.

C&B3: Went all the way to the Grand Final, where Achilles outlasted it and after a long tussle shoved it into Triple Big Mac's CPZ, where the house robot destroyed its flipper and main power. It was also bested in the play-off by an annoyingly aggressive Envy, who pitted N-G within the first half of the battle.

Alex: Indeed. It's also got prongs at the front which surrounded a vertical triangular disc.
Melissa: Sounds positively dreadful. Speaking of which, how do you feel about going up against the 3rd -
Alex: Seed? I couldn't really care. Now if it was the champion then I'd be a bit nervous, but 3rd seeds, well...
Melissa: Now now, he did brilliantly to get that far, so don't underestimate your opponent. So get out there and prove you're stronger?
Alex: Will do, will do.
With an extended Hardox chassis and stainless steel tracks, you'd be very hard put to damage this thing. Its flywheel housing and prongs are also Hardox, so try damaging that too. :proud: It's very powerful with its Lynch-drive system and tracks, and the 13kg vertical disc spells doom for those to come into contact with it. It can even keep the disc pointed at its opponent while being flipped, and is very hard to stack on the wall due to independent track modules. That said, it'll have a hard time manoeuvring around.

A blindly fast start follows the call of ACTIVATE as Nitro-Gene, obviously set on proving its seeding, charges headlong into the prongs of Darkestar...a thoughtless manoeuvre, as the prongs easily defeat the flipper and the flywheel chews into it! Quite the spark show, but it's not done much to the flipper, other than nastily scratching up the red paint, but Darkestar's power is deemed the greater factor here as it overpowers Nitro-Gene's drive and, pushing the flipper up and exposing the ram (slightly), begins to shunt the 3rd seed across the arena...over the arena saws! BZZT! Both robots take a tumble, hardly sustaining damage, but Nitro-Gene's been freed of Darkestar's lacklustre grip and is skimming the arena, seeking some positioning. Darkestar isn't letting up with the aggression, however! It blows onto the scene but barely misses Nitro-Gene who speeds away in a blur of blue! Darkestar pours on the power and chases Nitro-Gene around the arena, but with its questionable manoeuvrability it better be careful. Ultimately noticing that he can't sneak past Darkestar, Nitro-Gene is forced to grit himself and smash into Darkestar's front end again! Unfortunately, it seems Darkestar is invulnerable to assault at the front, as again the prongs sneak under the flipper and push it into the flywheel!
CRASH!
A few sparks, but now the flipper has taken some damage! A nice gash down the middle is seen, and I doubt it'll do much now. And Darkestar is again pushing Nitro-Gene back. Further and further down the arena until Count Bleck's CPZ is reached! The Lord Blumiere shows just how heartless he can be by smacking Nitro-Gene's rear skirt!
CRASH!!!
Now that...was a big hit. Although the skirt is still there, it's barely clinging on to the rear end of the 3rd seed! Such power! But it doesn't end there, as Darkestar has somehow managed to keep control of the flipperbot and keep it against the wall of the CPZ! Bleck now spews flames at the trapped Nitro-Gene, as both The Watcher and Renegade poke their noses in as well. Darkestar, not one to welcome an incoming attack on himself, backs off and gives Renegade admission to the Nitro-Gene beating fest, but it is suddenly thwarted as Nitro-Gene bursts right out, and back into Darkestar! ...or is it thwarted? No, no no no, again those prongs are just too low for Paul to get his bot to slide under, and Darkestar pushes Nitro-Gene back into the CPZ...with Bleck spinning madly again!
CRASH!!!
An unstable Count Bleck sends the rear skirt of Nitro-Gene flying across the arena, and Renegade has the flipperbot smacked against his front, as he clamps onto the 3rd seed and begins to smack him with the axe! Not that it's doing too much damage to Nitro-Gene, but it is scoring several judges points for Darkestar, who's going after the pit release button now! The Watcher now bursts in, and not only shunts Renegade, but rams him into the wall! Why is the ref attacking his own teammate? As Renegade lets go of Nitro-Gene and shifts angrily to confront his fellow DarkZlayer, Paul guns the engines and launches his robot across the arena, right at the rear end of Darkestar, who's oblivious to the situation behind him! He turns, but too late, as Nitro-Gene slides under and takes him directly to the wall! It's a flip! It's a toss! It's over, as Darkestar sails straight over the wall, and out! The upset has been avoided in a lucky shot!

The force isn't strong in this one! Darkestar drifts back into the black hole from whence it came! :proud:

Old is new again...or rather, the veteran is new to the tournament! A Barberous-inspired design, extremely powerful with the 30mm Duralumin drum...shaped like Pussycat€™s blade. Very unusual, but effective! It€™s not going to push worth a damn here, but it does spin-up very fast and has a decent drive speed though, so hide under the covers, children! :proud:

The revertosaur returns after its previous tries! Good speed, 8mm titanium armour and 4 wheel drive, all good points. A sort of wide, low wedge here, and ah yes, the roller itself is powered by a Bosch motor, so it won€™t be too difficult to get away in time. Don€™t like the look of that ground clearance besides the front, though, and like all flippers, it won€™t flip forever.

And it€™s a blindingly fast start by the former Finalist as Chris guns the motors and goes for the gold, slamming straight into Ringwraith right at the get-go! Unfortunately, Ringwraith had already gotten up to speed in that short of a time-frame, so this can€™t be good!

Just as predicted! Richard€™s bot flies into the air, out of the reach of Die-Reverta-Tops€™ flipper, which has a nasty scar in it already, and the revertosaur itself is knocked for a loop, amid the countless sparks littering the floor! Ringwraith€™s back on its wheels, though, and spins up that nasty drummish blade again...you can hear it whirring! Almost as if the life-force of the robot is positively brimming with energy! And it is, as Ringwraith trundles towards an incoming Die-Reverta-Tops again! Will we be amazed a second time?
CRASH!!!
The answer is a resounding YES, as the sparks erupt again and both bots are knocked away twice, Ringwraith into the air, Die-Reverta-Tops backwards, and Die-Reverta-Tops€™ flipper€™s front is not looking too good at the moment! A little more confidently, Ringwraith charges a split-second after it lands, but Die-Reverta-Tops€™ plans don€™t quite coincide with that! Like a blaring freight train it charges back-first into the pit release button and releases the pit floor...which descends into the pit! :proud: Ringwraith tries to catch up with Die-Reverta-Tops, but Chris has made his bot a bit too fast for Richard to catch, as Die-Reverta-Tops zooms away, past one of Ringwraith€™s wheels, and does an about face as Ringwraith keeps up the advance, but it€™s Chris who does the advancing now as now thrice the revertosaur barrels into the spinning blades!

Ouch, you can almost feel the waves of energy in each hit! This time, however, Die-Reverta-Tops is knocked into the air, while Ringwraith doesn€™t move at all...which is good news for Richard, who doesn€™t bother to try and hit the former Finalist, and instead drives under the falling flipper and catches the bottom of it on the now stationary drum. With all of Die-Reverta-Tops€™ wheels off the ground, it€™s party-time for Richard as he slowly moves the Die-Ceratops incarnation into Hexadecimal€™s CPZ...which ain€™t good, as Hex has lifted her upper blades, exposing the spinning lower one! With another heave, Ringwraith completes its journey towards the CPZ and Die-Reverta-Tops feels the pain!
CRASH!!!
And if Die-Reverta-Tops had a mouth, he€™d be screaming by now as the entire rear panel is taken out!!! The panel itself is barely dented, but the sheer force of that huge hit knocked the whole thing straight off! Thankfully, Die-Reverta-Tops is off the drum now and can move away...can he? ...after a pause, Die-Reverta-Tops sputters, then slowly moves out. That hit must have done more damage than we thought, and should this go to a judges decision, it€™ll earn Ringwraith some serious points -

Oh no it won€™t go to a decision! Not with hits like that! Ringwraith has smacked Die-Reverta-Tops€™ front end again, and the front of that flipper is just brutalized, brutalized, from just four hits! Ah...Die-Reverta-Tops has stopped...Chris is frantic with the controls...Ringwraith moves in again...no, wait, it goes for the rear! Is there anything Chris can do to stop it?
CRASH!!!
Not at all! The rear of the right side panel is bent up a bit, now and it€™s sent the big flipper onto its back now! Ahh...yes, the flipper is working, as Die-Reverta-Tops self-rights...but that€™s as far as you€™ll go, mate, if only your flipper is working! Now The Watcher moves in...but no, Ringwraith has cut him off!
CRASH!!!
And Die-Reverta-Tops finds himself on his back again, but again the flipper sends it back onto its wheels, but it€™s oh-so-near the pit now...Ringwraith throws itself into Die-Reverta-Tops, as The Watcher finally gets near enough to start the countdown.

And that€™s that, as Ringwraith...can€™t really push Die-Reverta-Tops like that...or can he? The roller is...helping it...slowly...and down it goes! AHA! Ringwraith followed it, and the house robots are robbed of delight! Better luck next time, fellows! :proud:

I think this'll be where it ends for Ringwraith. That Duralumin shell won't survive the hazards or the house bots that Nitro-Gene can push it into. Nitro-Gene to be in the semis again, methinks.

Wow, so hard to decide... two very good machines here, and I think it will go either way. However, just because Ringwraith is more experienced, Nitro-Gene is not seeded for nothing, so I will go for the seed to zoom through to the semi's.

Ouch, painful draw. Target Bulldozer first and rip off that sacrificial armour. With any luck I'll put a few tears in the proper armour as well. Batter till dead, then attack whoever happens to be nearest. Stick to the sides to avoid being pushed about by OverDrive or beaten flat by Little Hitter.
As for the Heat Final, I'll go with Nitro-Gene to soar to the Semis. 8)

One of the scariest FWs ever! A axe that can easily dent 3mm steel, a opposite corner 2WD, titanium and polypropylene armour, powerful drive and new front forks ensure this little hitter ain't your common garden variety axebot. :proud:

This rambot will put you under its wheels, with its MW-pushing 4W-drivetrain, thick 7075 aluminium alloy armour, and high speed. It can't really be stranded and is quite compact; it'll be aggressive as hell, making it a force to be reckoned with. :proud:

Looking to clear the competition away with its overvolted drill motors and 4WD. The static scoop can push bots easily and it has a decorative moving 'tail'. Strange. It mostly has sacrficial armour; possibly the shrapnel from other matches. :proud:

And the quickest start? All of them? Well, not Little Hitter anyway, the slowest in the heat. Rolling Pin FTW has made a beeling for Bulldozer, who's come right at it! OverDrive is in overdrive as it makes contact with the bot nearest...Bulldozer! And it's shoved out of the way as Rolling Pin FTW blows by, hitting nothing but air! Little Hitter makes its way from its spot suddenly, proving its aceleration is not to be underestimated. It heads in the direction of Bulldozer as well, but OverDrive is pushing it so fast Mark Lumb has no time to catch up with Andy, who plows Bulldozer into the wall! His tactic of trying to damage Bulldozer delayed, Steve turns to attack one of the other two...but before he can, Little Hitter attacks him, directly at the side! Not will to sacrifice the axe yet, he tries to push Rolling Pin FTW, but the axlebot turns swiftly and Little Hitter plows right into the drum!
CRASH!!
The titanium holds up well, however, and soon the drum is ground to a complete halt! Steve struggles to move away, but he can't turn back before Little Hitter drives Rolling Pin FTW straight into the arena wall! And that, unfortunately, sends Steven's FW over top of Little Hitter! Lumb looks worried as he turns his machine around to try and face Rolling Pin FTW, but by the time he has, Steve has his own machine spinning up to speed and in the middle of the arena! As Steven tries to attack, however, he is plowed aside, literally, by The Watcher, who takes a blow to the plow aside as he goes to separate OverDrive and Bulldozer. That he does with a brutal ram, well, brutal to featherweights at least, seeing as he weighs ten times more than they do. :proud: The result is that OverDrive and Bulldozer are both flung into the arena wall; luckily neither become inverted, but it leaves OverDrive in a bad position to be rammed as BullDozer is facing him! In a roar the scoop is upon OverDrive and under the 7.5mm ground clearance as BullDozer exacts some revenge and smashes OverDrive into a CPZ, where Xianghua III, acting as a guest house robot, inhabits. With a huge spurt, the Peking-born flipper explodes with force as OverDrive is, literally, launched into the air, 11kg of robot sent flying across the arena...that must have been at least 10 feet...not a good distance to land from, as OverDrive crashes down to earth with a thunderous clatter, but Bulldozer is right there with the scoop, shoving OverDrive across the arena again before it can even move...I don't think OverDrive can move after that massive collision, with the floor...and OverDrive is left on top of the arena saws, Bulldozer backs off...and BZZT! The only movement seen from OverDrive is the distance he's thrown off of the killsaws! And it's quite a distance, too! And other than that...nothing. Chris is absurdly delighted with this and goes to attack the other two robots as The Watcher barges in and begins to count out OverDrive!

And obviously that means we've missed out! What's happened? Why, Rolling Pin FTW has schmacked Little Hitter, of course! It's flipped Little Hitter, of course, but not done too much damage! However, Bulldozer, coming off his...er, Xianghua's victory over OverDrive, crashes the party and rams into...Rolling Pin FTW! Steve can't get away again and Bulldozer pushes him towards the pit release button...but misses it by a mile! :proud: He does however keep Rolling Pin FTW against the wall and keeps him there...while Little Hitter recovers, rights itself, and comes back on the attack...on Bulldozer?! What?! It's crashed into the rear of Bulldozer and giving it huge, HUGE shots! There goes the 'paper bag'! :proud: And much more! That 4mm aluminium is completely toast! Look at that, great punches in that top armour! And now, Little Hitter's got his axe stuck inside of Bulldozer! Oh dear. He tries to pull Bulldozer away...and does so! Apparently Bulldozer's two rear wheels aren't in contact with anything with air, which is just fine by Mark Lumb! It drags Bulldozer away from Rolling Pin FTW, lest The Watcher slam into them again with a warning, and Steven's eyes flash angrily; he won't put up with that pin from Chris! Before Chris can try to pull away from Little Hitter, the drum of Rolling Pin FTW has spun-up, and with a brutal smash, smacks into the front scoop of Bulldozer!
CRASH!!!
The scoop takes the hit, but Bulldozer AND Little Hitter are both flipped by the attack! This has also freed Little Hitter's axe from Bulldozer! Little Hittler self-rights, and Bulldozer's tail wags...feebly. There's no self-righting from it, so Chris' hope is misplaced, and he watches sadly as Little Hitter rams it and puts it on top of the pit! Rolling Pin FTW gets the plan and drives towards the pit release button and connects with it, sending the inverted Bulldozer into black hell!

OverDrive's overblown, while Bulldozer has become deconstructed! :proud:

A second Heat Final? Who would've thought I'd get this far? Certainly not you folks, though that's partially my fault. :P The 3rd seed's come through with flying colours, only to face the terror that is Ringwraith. The winner? It's coming to you now!

Paul: Well...yes...er...4th is still high, isn't it?
Melissa: Um, quite. Good luck to you. And...let's go over to...the Velociraptor table! Ah Richard, how's the repairing going?
Richard: We dislodged the killswitch a bit during last battle, so it's getting secured back on.
Melissa: All right, and are you scared about facing the 3rd seed?
Richard: Not especially. He's just another robot, which still is tough, but we'll give it a go and see what happens.
Melissa: Good! To the arena!

Activate indeed; both competitors have done just that as Nitro-Gene blasts out of his spot towards Ringwraith, who's getting its spinning body up to maximum killing potential. Unfortunately for him, it's not fast enough for Nitro-Gene, who comes straight in on the attack, and manages to avoid the drum by nailing one of the wheels with the flipper! Unfortunately for HIM, that turns the Duralumin drum right into the front of Paul's flipperbot, resulting in...
CRASH!!!
...a massive collision! And it's thrown Nitro-Gene right over onto his back amid them pretty sparks! :proud: The 3rd seed tries to move away to self-right quicker, but he's having a hard time doing that! Obviously the inverted ground clearance isn't agreeing with his wheels! Revelling in this newfound discovery, Ringwraith sits nearby, waiting for Nitro-Gene to right itself, Richard having spun up the drum again and seemingly concocting up a plan. Paul tries to get Nitro-Gene away, but try as he might, he's not going anywhere! So, with no other alternative, Paul has to activate the flipper, which sends Nitro-Gene into the air in a 540...but directly on top of Ringwraith! ...HA! Would you look at that! Nitro-Gene is stuck on Ringwraith's tire! And it can't get off! Ringwraith tries to move, but it can only turn in an arc; the pressure Nitro-Gene is exerting on that tire is a bit too much and Ringwraith can't move it! Ringwraith now tries to move in an arc to swing the drum in and attack the underbelly...but no such luck! The two robots are stuck and any moment now...bump. The Watcher moves in and nudges Nitro-Gene...sadly, that's hardly done anything as he went into the rear of Nitro-Gene, which was still on the ground. It has, however, given Ringwraith the opportunity he needs to bring the drum in closer, and...it's smacking the left side skirt repeatedly! And there it goes! A few successive hits on the skirt and it's 25 feet removed from its owner, near an angle grinder at the other end of the arena...Asterix jumps upon it! :proud: Now, now, even then you shouldn't leave your CPZ. :proud: Meanwhile, The Watcher is still trying to separate the two, as Ringwraith can't bring the drum further into play and the referee decides, finally, to move to the right side of Nitro-Gene and begin pushing...and thanks to the absence of the left skirt, Nitro-Gene's now stuck on BOTH wheels...seems the 'Gene's maximum length is larger than Ringwraith's wheelbase. The Watcher continues pushing...and unwittingly sticks his arm underneath Nitro-Gene and lifts him up overtop of Ringwraith. That's not a wise move, seeing as the drum on Ringwraith hasn't stopped!
CRASH!!!
A second later and the Watcher finds himself with a bent lifting arm! It's your fault, you bloody fool, you stuck it where the sun don't shine! :proud: But now the competitors are separated at last. Nitro-Gene, not turning to get the flipper in play, uses the rear end to push Ringwraith, who's trying to spin up his drum, across the arena. The rear skirt is hit, and is quite bent, but it stops the drum and Nitro-Gene continues pushing the axlebot into an empty CPZ. He then turns to try and flip Ringwraith OOTA but Ringwraith drives straight into him and tries to go all-terrain on his arse! :proud: Note to Ringwraith; you can't ride onto a bot using a flat side. ;) ...well, bugger what I just said, he's just done it. Ringwraith drives right overtop of Nitro-Gene and spins around, spinning the drum towards its lethal RPM value. Nitro-Gene again rams, using its rear end, but Ringwraith backs off this time; a pursuit ensues, abruptly ended when Ringwraith stops and Nitro-Gene smashes into him!
CRASH!
And there goes the rear skirt! More sacrificial than anything, however, as Nitro-Gene takes the hit easily and pushes Ringwraith back towards...Rorschach's CPZ! The Watchman actually backs away in an arc to let Nitro-Gene smack Ringwraith into the wall and drive to the edge of the CPZ, then Rorschach forces Ringwraith against the corner and brings the beak down...well, it's not doing much to the Duralumin, really, but Nitro-Gene's gone off and hit the pit release button; the house robot, however, ignores the opened pit and tries hard to crush the drum but he's not making much headway into the task and soon after is forced to let go and let Ringwraith get away...but Nitro-Gene is right there! And with an almighty SLAM he smacks into Ringwraith, the force itself vaulting Ringwraith into the air...but thankfully the drumbot is still in the arena. Nitro-Gene has him pinned though, and...there's the flip! WHAT?! NO! Ringwraith is rocketed into the air, but OVER Nitro-Gene and landing right behind him, and getting the drum spinning again! Oh dear! What a stroke of black magic that was! And now the wraith backs off, allowing the thunderstuck Nitro-Gene to turn around and simply face him, unaware that Rorschach is trying to eject him from the CPZ. Then he charges. The flipping arm is the first thing to come into contact with Ringwraith's drum.
CRASH!!!
And thankfully it isn't too damaged, but Nitro-Gene's sent up a bit and that's allowed Ringwraith to spin up a bit more! The 3rd seed is in trouble here, but isn't out of the fight by a long shot and rams Ringwraith again...or tries to, but Ringwraith moves to the right and spins, effectively bypassing the charge and giving the flipperbot a hefty whack on the explosed left side!
CRASH!!!
Amazingly, it flips Nitro-Gene right onto his back! The side in question also has a nasty scar down the center, but Nitro-Gene activates the arm, unable to move on its back, and lands...upside-down again! The full 360 isn't quite what Paul wanted here and that leaves his poor robot exposed to another shot from Ringwraith, which Richard takes with obvious glee.
CRASH!!!
The rear takes a shot this time, Richard taking careful aim so as not to re-right Nitro-Gene, and the angled rear, deprives of its skirted protection, finds itself mangled directly on the edge! Paul doesn't want to self-right directly next to Ringwraith but he has no choice, and so flips himself off the ground again...once again landing himself into a 360, more graceful than before but still in a rotten position, and Ringwraith keeps bringing the punishment! He moves around Nitro-Gene and attacks the flipper, just as Nitro-Gene decides to flip itself again!
CRASH!
Oh...my. The self-right + hit sends Nitro-Gene, again, into a 360, from which it lands again onto its back. Ringwraith's drum hasn't stopped much during the hit and he brings it in again before the 3rd seed can even think of self-righting again!
CRASH!!!
That was a very powerful blow...so powerful, unfortunately, that it righted Nitro-Gene! And the said Nitro-Gene uses its mangled rear to back into Ringwraith and shove towards one of the Discs of Death! Oh my! Oh...no. Ringwraith's huge tires are proving very helpful here, as it is able to break the push and send Nitro-Gene flying almost into the Disc of Death itself. Paul, realizing his mistake, tries to make up for it by aggressively shooting across the arena to where Ringwraith is spinning, and just manages to catch Ringwraith before it can turn in another direction. The problem? It hit Ringwraith's tire again, which turns Ringwraith into Nitro-Gene's right side!
CRASH!!
The right side skirt, the remaining one, gets bent up, and doesn't fold back down like it should, but once again it's stalled Ringwraith's greatly feared spinning drum and Nitro-Gene is able to face and push into him before the axlebot can react. And this time, Ringwraith can't break the charge! They're heading for the wall! It's a...flop. A very disappointing performance here as Nitro-Gene flicks Ringwraith not over the fence, but straight into the wall; the latter bounces off and starts spinning again. Nitro-Gene desperately turns and moves in to ram Ringwraith, but Ringwraith's able to turn a bit to smack Nitro-Gene's right corner on an angle.
CRASH!!!
The resulting hit, once again, upends Nitro-Gene, who self-rights immediately, the 360 long forgotten as the flipper has lost enough power to right its host properly. Not that Nitro-Gene is complaning, as he rams into Ringwraith once more, and this time he stops the drum without taking any damage; quickly, he tries to turn to push Ringwraith towards the pit, but Richard isn't having any of it and as Nitro-Gene turns, Ringwraith whirls the opposite direction, leaving him at the side of Nitro-Gene. Of course, that doesn't help much since the drum isn't spinning, but it's saved him from the pit...and Paul's frustration is mounting as he tries to get some kind of attack going here. He again manages to stop the drum before it gets up to a high speed and pushes Ringwraith, but the slippery axlebot again pulls out of the charge and begins spinning again. Richard is smirking now, playing a very clever game, while Paul seems to be on the verge of erupting, as the box attempts to assault the drumbot, but can't as the drumbot pulls away. It seems monotonous, as Nitro-Gene charges, but Ringwraith, despite having his weaponry stopped, parries the thrust (en garde! :proud:) and moves away to try and spin up again. However, this is earning Nitro-Gene big aggression points, but will it be enough? The clock is ticking down and Ringwraith sees the time for a bit more action...

The drum fully spun, now, Ringwraith moves in, but Nitro-Gene is right there and throws himself into it...
CRASH!!!
Both robots are thrown skyward as Nitro-Gene activates the flipper on contact; Ringwraith soars into an empty CPZ but exits it quickly' Nitro-Gene lands on its back.

Ringwraith drives straight towards Nitro-Gene, who tries to self-right, and just manages to do so, revealing a very bent-up flipping arm!

Nitro-Gene throws caution to the wind and slams into the oncoming Ringwraith, who's unable to get out of the way this time, and takes it to the wall for one hefty slam and flip...

AND OH NO! Ringwraith's out of the arena, too little too late though! Or maybe not! Let's see the decision, judges!

Attack as much as possible, dent/bust/generally damage that armour as much as I posibly can. When able, proceed to be a total jerk and cause more damage with hazards.
When able and tired of being a jerk, try to pit.

STAT's a powerful fellow, but I think I can exploit that large ground clearance. Plow underneath, preferably from the sides, and whack away with the axe. Either try to screw up those wheels or grapple 'n' pit the bugger ASAP.
2) Mobile Failure VS Y5
Tricky, tricky. If Mobile Failure can get a grip on Y5, I sense a win for Tracy.

Steven: He's gotten pretty far up the rankings the way he is, so nope.

Largely unchanged since the first series, the axebot returns again with its Hardox armouring, skirts and front spatula, rounded rear, side semi-spheres, powerful Lynch drive, and successful CO2 axe design. A seemingly thin ram size may hinder its power, but that allows it to strike many, many times without failing. It does have only average manoeuvrability though...is the 5th seed headed for the gallows?
C&B1: Made the Heat H Final only to lose a tight judges' decision to the soon-to-be champ Salamander III
C&B2: Entered the 2nd round of the Series Semi-Finals, scrapped by Grand Finalist S.U.N.C.U.S.T. by a 45-30 JD
C&B3: Again made the Semi-Final 2nd round, this time spending the whole match being flipped all over the place by eventual silver-medallist Achilles until going over the fence.

A large box on wheels with very powerful petrol drive, able to produce massive amounts of torque at the proper geardown, and 6WD gives it ample traction to do so. The weapon is a tool steel spike which is supposed to spear opponents, driving all the force it has behind it. The armouring is mostly titanium, with polycarbonate on 'ears' at the sides and rear, and on top. It has horrendous ground clearance, though...

Now that's the start we like to see; both robots have WHOA! What a collision that was! Both robots came at each other, and STAT flew up over Killotine's wedge, right over top of it, as Killotine brought the axe down seconds too late, and STAT nearly hit the wall as he landed! Zoinks! STAT wheels about, to face Killotine, to find that Killotine's recovered and straight back in his face already! The axe strikes down and hits the top layered armouring of STAT, but does absolutely nothing! Whether it's the small ram size of the axe, or STAT's heavy top armouring, or both, that smack didn't affect STAT at all! STAT pushes back, and forces the axe backward as he drives up onto Killotine, but the angle is not straight and he drives straight onto the side of Killotine. Steve backs off and drags STAT with him, until STAT falls off the axebot, and then attacks again. This time, Joey is too quick. STAT backs off and Killotine flies right by him, providing STAT ample opportunity to stick its tool steel spike straight into the right side of Killotine! Ouch! Not much momentum gathered, however, and the spike simply poinks the Hardox armouring. It does, however, allow STAT to push the 5th seed around, and straight into...one of the Discs of Death! Brace yourselves, folks!
CRASH!!!
The spike made STAT push Killotine at an angle, but that was straight into the Disc, without much distance in the resultant impact! And that's left a nasty dent in the side armour there! However, again to the angle of the hit, it hasn't changed STAT's positioning much, and so without further ado, Joey shoves Steve right back into the Disc! Rather useless as the Disc of Death is temporarily stopped, but STAT's wheels keep going, as though Joey is determined to pass the spike through the armour! 'Fraid that's not going to happen, Mr. McConnell. You so do a nice job of making the arena smell like burning rubber, however. :proud: Eventually this ridiculous debacle is ended by the arrival of The Watcher, who barges in and rear-ends STAT, the spike driven down into the side skirt of Killotine. It hasn't stopped STAT pushing, his front wheels are still on the ground, so The Watcher goes the whole hog and removes STAT from the ground completely, pushing into straight on top of Killotine, the spike helping in this. Or STAT would have landed on Killotine, had the Scottish robot not fled the scene as soon as STAT's front tires were removed from the ground. :proud: STAT wards The Watcher away as he backs off towards the pit release button, but Killotine gets to him first! And absolutely plows him into the button! STAT goes flying off the wall and lands with a clatter to Killotine's side. Killotine moves away before the beleaguered rammer can take advantage, and faces him again. STAT tries to move to the side again, but Killotine again displays the manoeuvrability advantage it has, finding STAT's own side and bringing the axe down. Again, a null effect, so null in fact that Killotine cannot even get a grip on STAT with it! STAT starts pushing back again, but Killotine advances again, its axe forced back into the ready position as it dumps STAT into the empty CPZ nearby. The spike is forced against the wall and Killotine is able to hold him there until King Leer enters the CPZ...Killobite backs the hell off, and King Leer immediately cuts STAT off...or does he? Ha! STAT rode up upon the front of the house robot and away! Joey doesn't intend on being outdone in this match yet.
Realizing he's actually got a tough competitor on his hands, Steve guns the motors and charges towards STAT again, who's going too fast to try and stop and move aside, and OUCH! A lucky shot, or was Joey planning it? Either way, the spike's stuck at the axle of the, well, axe! :proud: It's also removed STAT's front and middle wheels from the ground, leaving 2 wheels for STAT to try and overcome Killotine's 4. Amazingly, Killotine is being forced back, and Steve tries to turn, but with the spike stuck in the axe shaft there, STAT is dragged in the direction Killotine turns! STAT keeps pushing, each turn from Killotine helping him push the axebot further, and eventually they reach an arena spike! Pop goes the axebot, as Killotine is punched in the belly, but the Hardox withstands, and with a 100kg rammer stuck to him, there'll be no flipping here! It pops him again, and again, until finally, the spike comes loose and Killotine backs the hell off, too relieved to be separated that he accidentally backs into King Leer's CPZ! The blades come down, but do little than annoy Steve as he shoots away from Leer and towards STAT, who drives in again, and...and...collects him onto the wedge, slamming STAT into the wall behind! A mighty slam it is too, but it does little than put greater ambition into Joey, whose bot screams towards Killotine again. Killotine guns at him, but STAT turns aside, turning straight into Killotine's side and spiking it. Again, no real damage is caused from the spike, but it allows STAT to push Killotine at an angle, and that he does. Killotine turns as well, and the two are locked in a deadly tango of sorts.
Breaking the tango is STAT, Killotine mistakingly turning about and exposing the rear end! Joey guns with all his might the engines on STAT, and Killotine is unable to turn in time as 100kg of nearly 100% metal slam into the 5th seed, sending it across the arena and OHO! Well, that's a surprise! Killotine got flipped as it was pushed over the arena spike again! ...and you know what?! This looks like it's the end of the match! Killotine appears unable to right himself! Oh, that's just terrible! It seems that we were right in assuming that the axe got damaged when STAT stuck the spike into the shaft...and now Killotine's at the mercy of...everything! STAT begins pushing Killotine, however, and it's become clear that Joey doesn't want a worthy combatant to suffer at the hands of the house robots. Killotine teeters on the edge of the pit as they come dangerously close to it, and a final shove sends the axebot down into the abyss. What an upsetting turn of events, at least for Steve!

Killotine: EVO gets the chopping block, and has to settle for a Round 1 clipping! :proud:

Similar to the vanquished Killotine: EVO in the last fight; boxy, angly, LEM130 and 4WD, skirts, has powerful axe that can self-right, and reasonably tough armour. Also similar is the fact that it'll run out of axe power, but that won't hinder its pushing ability one bit. Failure? We'll have to see. :P

Chris: Nope, it's gone up quite a bit; Y5. No flipper, but some nice spinning blades in front to mash stuff up.
Melissa: And why did you make that change?
Chris: I have other flippers on my squad and the Y-series needed something different. Pussycat blades have done damage to moderately strong armour, so let's hope they'll do good here.

Chris: What about them? Just tear them a new arse. :P

Boxy in shape, with dangerous vertical twin cutting blades in front, spinning quite fast so look out for those. Steel and titanium armour will help it survive and MagMotor power helps it run around in the arena. Wheels are a bit exposed though. Why 5? You'd have to ask Mr. Mason. :P

And finally the second fight is underway. A quick start however from Mobile Failure as it gangways towards Y5, who decides to just sit there and let the blades hit Tracy's axebot. Well, they're not fully spun up yet, so unless youve got some other pla - oh. Y5 backs off at the last second, and NOW its blades are at full speed. Mobile Failure's coming in too fast to avoid them!

A huge hit sends the Failure flying upwards, but the force is too little to send it completely over; it lands on top of the box spinner, its titanium wedge scratched up. Chris decides this would be a great time to show Mobile Failure around to the arena hazards, and implements his plan, dragging Mobile Failure over to the arena saws. Mobile Failure slams its axe down but can't get it to hit Y5 underneath, nor is unable to shake itself off of Y5, and soon it's on top of the saws. SCREECH. Ooh...I dont like the sound of that plastic being cut into...Y5 lets Mobile Failure down but this causes the arena saws to pop up again and send Mobile Failure away...Y5 sees his chance and buries the blades into the Failure's sides!

More scratching, but hardly any denting as the Failure really is flipped over this time. Y5 closes the gap, aiming to slice the axe off as Mobile Failure self-rights, but Tracy doesn't go for the srimech button yet, even she can see Chris' plan here. The Watcher comes over and looks...and begins to count Mobile Failure out!

But no! Tracy can't stand it any longer and gives in; the axe shoots out and flings Mobile Failure up; Y5 charges straight in and smacks the axe shaft! There's quite a bit of sparks, but Chris is dismayed greatly when he finds he's hardly damaged the axe at all! But things are about to get even worse for him! Mobile Failure, enraged by the early defecit given to it, slams its wedge under Y5's front-side corner, and heaves it up onto the wedge, giving the robot a hefty smack from the axe and proving beyond all doubt that the axe is still functional and still deadly as hell! The steel of Y5 however deflected that axe blow, so Chris isn't totally doomed yet. Another axe blow is given, and Tracy keeps it down, and slides Chris' bot under the saws for a taste of its own medicine! OOH...that got one of the tires...but Mobile Failure keeps Y5 there, and the tire gets a thorough slicing until our friendly neighbourhood Watcher crashes the party with a nudge to Mobile Failure's hindquarters. Mobile Failure backs off with the axe raised, but already Y5's driving ability seems to have been botched quite a bit...look at that slice, right through the tire! Such a clean cut...that'll show you not to mess with our arena saws, eh? Don't think the roboteers can see it but Chris knows that Y5 isn't driving straight...and Tracy barges in again, with a massive slam of Y5 into the wall! Y5 plops down inverted but that's okay, he's invertible and still in the game...though with the tire in that condition, dunno how much longer it'll last. And Mobile Failure is in the face of Y5 again, but now Chris has the robot facing its enemy!

And OUCH! Only the most godly among combat warriors would call that a scratch! The blades have dug, DUG right into the titanium wedge of Mobile Failure and are stuck! Tracy wiggles her bot around a bit, but all for naught; those blades are stuck in there tighter than several squirrels in a peanut butter jar! :proud: Chris tries to push Tracy's axebot back, and succeeds at first, but only for Tracy to put away her sense of disbelief that she still has a working robot, and now Mobile Failure proceeds to smash the crap out of Y5's top-bottom-whatever armour, all the while moving it back towards the saws. Not easily though, as Y5 can still turn this way and that, and Mobile Failure accidentally drives over the saws itself, but thankfully they don't pop up in time. By now Y5's armour up top is looking very beaten, having taken 6 multiple axe blows in a row and finally The Watcher moves in and separates them...almost. One of the blades is still slightly stuck, and Y5 gets another smack from the axe, before finally the blade is removed from the wedge...and...I think that's it. Y5 is not moving! Tracy, gleeful, moves in again, and continues to smash the crap out of a very tenderized Y5 despite Chris' angered shouts from across the arena. Thankfully, Y5 spared from too much abuse as The Watcher moves in to make an actual full count out.

Straight from the slaughterhouse to boot...rather, smash things up. :proud: It's got a nasty crusher with *gasp* a tonne of force! Also has some side srimechs on its crusher, ala Razer. Despite good front armour, it's got weak base armour, but if it can keep on its wheels with its decent drivetrain, it'll be A-OK.
From the United States...Backlash!
One of the most feared lightweights you can come across. Its vertical disc spells doom for any bot to come across it, and its shape is anything but simple; clawed and invertible, it'll amaze many roboteers. It does have exposed wheels though, and it has mediocre armour.
From the United States...Ziggo!
This robot has beaten the above robot in a one-on-one, and has won two LW championships, but it's not done too well in rumbles...it's a conical full-body spinner with a flag atop to tell builder Jonathan Ridder where it's going. It's also one of the most manoeuvrable full-body spinners in the world, but it does have huge stability issues.

Chuck Pitzer's creation, entered by Tony Politzi, has much going for it here, mainly its huge speed, invertibility, and tough claw lifter. It does tend to turn a bit too much at times, but its power is almost unmatchable. The wheels are still exposed from the back, however...

And once again an otherweight melee commences! :proud: And already there is evidence of a team-up, as Sergeant Slaughter goes for Gamma Raptor, who tries to get out of the way but gets blocked by an incoming Ziggo! Just when we thought the situation couldn't get any more tense, we're dead wrong as Backlash makes a deadly entrance, smacking into Sergeant Slaughter from the side!
CRASH!!
And what a hit it was! It's sent the Slaughterer chassis over teakettle across the arena floor with a nice dent in its side for all its worth! As Sergeant Slaughter gets its bearings back and starts to self-right, Backlash moves in again, forgetting that its disc isn't spun fully up yet! As it pauses to do so, Ziggo reminds Backlash that it's still there by smacking into IT from the side! And...that appears to it for Backlash already! The wheel's gone! What an anti-climactic result! Backlash now looks rather sad in the middle of the arena, and tries to get its disc spinning again, but there's really not much you can do now; with half your mobility gone, you're out! As to signify the worst, The Watcher makes an entrance and starts to count Backlash out, as Gamma Raptor comes to its senses and charges Ziggo.

Liam, however, crashes Tony's party; Gamma Raptor has hardly gotten the lifter under Ziggo's unspinning frame when Sergeant Slaughter comes flying in and grapples Gamma Raptor from the side; Tony, horrified, tries to get away but the claw has already come down, much too fast for any counter-action by Tony, and the said claw is already doing heavy damage as it's penetrated the top armour of Gamma Raptor, making a huge hole in it! Ziggo's recovered now, and Liam seeing this decides to pay Joey a visit. Sergeant Slaughter does a 180 and moves the captive lifter towards Ziggo's waiting cyclone of death, and there's no getting away!

Such was the blow that both Gamma Raptor and Sergeant Slaughter were sent flying, as was Ziggo! And the spinner is looking mighty unstable now, as it now resembles a coin being spun on end! And...derrr...we have no movement from either Gamma Raptor OR Sergeant Slaughter! What's happened here?! Ziggo isn't spinning now, and looks quite stable in said unspinning state. It goes after the pit release button and hits it, but The Watcher is already shunting the other two, trying to free them. The attempt is clearly not working, as Sergeant Slaughter's claw is still quite fixed inside the chassis of Gamma Raptor. And still, neither robot is moving. Ziggo returns to the scene and tries to push them towards the pit...nothing doing! There's only one way to settle this, then!

It's robot fightin' time! And a fight we do have here! Two veterans have been eliminated by these two, and now we'll see what they can really do! STAT moves out, straight towards the Failure who, ironically, fails to get the axe going quick enough as STAT's spike hits the wedge of Mobile Failure and sends it flying up, and right above the axed machine, crashing down behind it! Tracy however expected this, but instead turns Mobile Failure around a bit too far, so it passes its front end by STAT as Joey turns STAT around to face Mobile Failure. Luckily Tracy rectifies her mistake just in time for STAT to crash into the front again, but this time it hasn't gathered enough speed and merely lands itself on top of the wedge. Now Tracy has her opponent at her mercy, and with a press of a button the axe on Mobile Failure darts downward to greet STAT's honeycombed carbon fibre/polypropylene top armour, but goes through that and pokes into the 6mm polycarb underneath. The ground clearance of STAT helps STAT get its rear wheels back on the ground and it drives away, but Mobile Failure is after it and just as STAT gets enough distance to try and turn away, Tracy bull-rushes into it and pulverizes it against the arena wall, the axe coming down again and this time hooks onto the honeycomb top armouring...at least for a second, before a shuddering movement from STAT dislodges the weakly attached axehead. The Failure keeps it there and rains down axe blows, 6 more solid blows before The Watcher interrupts Tracy's fun time by sharply nudging Mobile Failure from the rear. Grudgingly, Tracy lets go and Joey drives away, relieved but ever more determined to get back into the game. As Mobile Failure moves forward again, STAT veers off to the side, successfully this time, and Mobile Failure nearly drives into the wall. Before it can get back, STAT rams it from the side. Immediately, Mobile Failure is upended by the high spike against its flat sides, and falls flat on its back. STAT now finds itself on top of Mobile Failure, but drives off quickly. Not quickly enough, however, to take advantage of Tracy's peril, as she rights herself. Joey moves forward anyway with the hope of repeating the flip, but Mobile Failure backs off and STAT goes flying past. Mobile Failure capitalizes on this err and wedges STAT from the rear, driving it spike-first into the wall, bouncing it off, but chasing it down again almost immediately and ramming its side and axeing it before it can drive off the wedge, trapping it! Gleeful in its second capture, Mobile Failure takes it to the wall again and starts hammering it into oblivion again! The previously dented area on the top armour now has a sister, as Mobile Failure gets in another 6 powerful blows before forced to back off by the resident Watcher. STAT is looking very battered now on the top, suffering no wheel damage however.
Joey isn't looking quite as happy as he was at the start of the match, and decides to go for another tack. Before Mobile Failure can stop it, STAT reverses direction and goes for the pit release button, slamming into it with its rear end. Followed by Tracy, Joey suddenly guns the drivetrain and drives at Mobile Failure, and achieves such air as the first ram in the match had not! He literally flies above the axed machine and lands in the middle of the arena, as Mobile Failure hits the button by accident. STAT turns quickly as Mobile Failure backs away from the button, and drives with all its might. Can Tracy turn fast enough? ...NO! STAT plows into the side with the spike, and immediately flips it again! Tracy self-rights quickly, but is quickly rammed in the back by STAT and driven into Renegade's CPZ! The house robot's axe finds Mobile Failure's own, and pins it, while the claws come in and clamp Tracy's machine tightly! Tracy frantically attempts an escape, but when you're caught by a house robot, there's slim-to-none chances for your escape, m'dear! :proud: Renegade takes Mobile Failure over to the arena saws...BZZT! Oooooh, dear...that doesn't sound too good...BZZT! More saw abuse. Mobile Failure gets near half a minute of the saws before Renegade lets go of it, but STAT rams it from the side and flips it over again! Such force! And she's right near the pit! Tracy, scared now, self-rights, but that's what Joey was expecting! STAT flies in, rams Mobile Failure - NO! What rotten luck! Only got Mobile Failure's rear side, and merely knocked it aside, leaving it in a huge, huge disadvantage! And Tracy wastes no time after seeing this turnaround; the Failure spins right around, clamps hold of STAT before it can get away or even move, and shoves STAT straight down into the pit it itself opened! Joey, after having seen this unpleasant and sudden defeay, smirks and shakes his head, while Tracy dances around like a maniac. Hey, such a win will do that to you. :proud:

Nasty weaponry, the 19kg drum achieving a maximum of 5000RPM...not much else to say about it, however. 4mm Hardox armour on a low box chassis shape (with new side spikes! Shocker!), LEM130s which propel it to 15mph and a relatively low ground clearance, but the drum won't work as well inverted, and as with all invertible robots its mobility is exposed from the top.

C&B3: Made the 2nd round of the Semi-Finals, but that's as far as it got: 3rd-seed Nitro-Gene 5.0 flung it over the fence after only 24 seconds had gone by.

Leo: *nods* The main body's made of T6-aluminium, and the top plating is made of special 5mm bisalloy chrome steel.
Melissa: And the weapon?
Leo: That's my little secret. It'll do some good damage I hope.
Melissa: And how do you feel about fighting a seeded machine?
Leo: Like I do about fighting any other robot, just go out there and do what we can.
Melissa: Mm-hmm, well give 'em hell.
Steel and aluminium spell out the armourment, the weapon of secret material, or so says team captain Leo van Miert, gives out nearly 15kJ so that's not too bad. Magmotors power the 2WD and help it achieve top speeds of around 20mph, but the ground clearance is a bit comfortable for flippers to get under, and the srimech seems unreliable.

So Samuel is looking to justify his 7th seed spot...we'll see! Paralyzation 2 turns to the side and moves about; Samuel is looking to avoid the front of Leo's machine, but Leo's tactic? Keep the front of Sideswipe pointed at the 7th seed! Whose tactic will work? So far it seems to be Leo's tactic; the wide stance, top speed, and torque are helping Sideswipe turn efficiently and quickly, even with the weapon in between. Paralyzation can't keep running around in circles and so backs off...Sideswipe pursues immediately. But the seeded machine backs all the way across the arena, turns and just misses Sideswipe, but again can't seem to turn and attack faster than Sideswipe can! Even so, Samuel fears that weapon of Sideswipe's and keeps at his tactic, not that it's doing much good, for as vigilant as Samuel is being about avoiding Sideswipe's spinner, Sideswipe isn't letting Paralyzation by at all! Finally, Sideswipe moves forwards, seeing Paralyzation pause for a second, and the drumbot can't move away quick enough, meaning we get our first big hit of the heat!
CRASH!!!
And what a hit it is, ladies and gentlemen! For 15kJ, that sure had a lot of force behind it; it's sent the 7th seed spinning back into the wall! Lucky for Samuel, Paralyzation didn't hit the wall drum-first; that would very well have been catastrophic! But Sideswipe's coming in again for another blow, so Samuel better get outta there! And so he does, but Sideswipe's after it! Knowing full well that Sideswipe by now is faster than his machine, Samuel sees no other option but to turn around and meet his opponent head-on...but even that brave attempt is thwarted! Why, you ask?
CRASH!!!
Because Sideswipe was coming in too fast for Samuel to turn his machine about properly, and so again Sideswipe's hit the side of Paralyzation, sending it into -

- the wall, drum-first! Oh dear! And such a hit has sent Paralyzation into the air under its own force, splatting down inverted with a THUNK! But hey, lookie here! Paralyzation, with a nifty little spin, shows that all is well in Team Coldstorm-land. So...a wall hit is not quite as catastrophic as we had thought: Samuel should be thankful that he shock-mounted all his components or else he would have likely knocked himself out on the wall! But the drum isn't going to be as useful upside-down, and to make matters worse, in comes a bloodthirsty Sideswipe again to deal another blow! Samuel tries to turn his machine about again, but...
CRASH!!!
Crikey! A rapid series of blows indeed, all of them having smashed Paralyzation into an arena wall! Not that the blows from Sideswipe's spinner have really done much external damage by themselves; Paralyzation's Hardox armour is holding up really well against these assaults, and just as well as the innards, too...but how long will it be until it all finally caves in? And strong though its armour and chassis are, Paralyzation's lack of aggression is certainly not helping Samuel in terms of points: he's losing them at jet speed! That won't do you well in if the judges' decision happens, Mr. Park! Eager to start controlling the match a little more, Samuel gets his robot off the wall and away from it in a hurry as Sideswipe spins its weapon up, but as Leo turns and attacks again, Paralyzation has its drum spun back up, and decides to confront Sideswipe head on! That's just fine with Leo!

OUCH!!! Massive collision alert!!! Both robots go for a tumble! Sideswipe cuts through the air a bit, thankfully landing on its wheels but uh oh...the spinner appears to be bent a bit...but strangely enough, it is still spinning! Even so, Leo's a bit worried. Paralyzation's spun away again, but no damage seems to be given to the drum; the weight advantage in the weapon seems to have given Samuel the better of the blow! There's little waste of time now on Samuel's part as Paralyzation moves back in; not waiting for either his or his opponent's weapons to spin up Samuel rams his machine into Leo's with almost unparalleled force! Instead of a great CRASH, we get a rather noisy WHAM from immobile weapons thudding together, and Paralyzation's greater drive kicks in: he pushes Sideswipe across the arena! Leo tries to push back but no go! And right into the wall goes Sideswipe, the rear of the newcomer forced into it, and the 7th seed simply holds him there. Right, uh...neither of you are scoring any points by just sitting there like ducks in a row, lads. :proud: Eventually Paralyzation releases his opponent...then drives into him again a second later as Sideswipe was about to go around him! The result is that Paralyzation pushes Sideswipe over one of the arena spikes, which pops out as Sideswipe goes over it, and inverts him instantly! Now that is a shocker...Sideswipe's 'srimech' barely helps him right himself when it's spinning. How will it help him self-right when it's NOT spinning? I think we already know the answer to that; it doesn't look as though Leo can right his machine at all and that...would classify as being knocked out! Samuel, after getting over the shock of having quite successfully used an arena hazard to win the match, leaves his fallen opponent lying inverted near the spike and heads his robot to the middle of the arena to spin about in a victory dance, as The Watcher moves in to count out another brave but defeated soul. Terrible luck, Leo!

Basically vague stats, this invertible wedge, with reverse wedge in back, has Hardox armour, 4WD powered by 4 S28 Mags, and many, many spikes around the main body. The wedges are split into V shapes to possibly get under opposition easier and halt the oncoming approach of spinning weapons, but...an unknown ground clearance and batteries? And it seems very underweight...

C&B2: (as Novastorm 2) After taking a ride through with The Disc 5 after Mass Disctruction Revolution got taken out, was OOTA'd after an attack from Liar 2 sent him into a CPZ and the house robots took it from there.

A lifter, similar to its brother Nitro-Gene 5.0 that fell earlier in the tournament. It's got thicker Hardox armour than its opponent but a less powerful 2 PERM 4WD. It does however have titanium skirts to ward off assaults, and it's invertible, but it doesn't have the same kind of effectiveness inverted. It is fast, however, so watch out for this speed demon.

And so another C&B4 battle begins! Novastorm and Harraz both come flying into each other! The resulting WHAM! echoes across the arena and into the stands, and the crowd cheer with genuine enthusiasm! Unfortunately for Tony, it's Paul who prevails here; the lifter defeats Novastorm's V-wedge and slides under it, but before Harraz can even begin to lift, Novastorm ricochets off of the lifter and away like a paddle-toy! :proud: Harraz closes in on the bouncy double wedge, but in an instant Novastorm's turned aside and flung itself across the arena, but unable to stop in time it runs straight over the arena saws; thankfully they don't pop up, only doing so when Novastorm backs the hell away from them. However, a more pressing matter introduces itself in the form of an incoming Harraz, and Novastorm is unable to turn in time as Harraz barrels into the spiked side, not bouncing anyone away this time, and starts to lift. Novastorm's traction is completely removed and at an angle he is rammed, hard, against the arena wall, with an impact to make said wall tremble! And Harraz keeps him there, lifting some more, until Novastorm is almost flush with the wall...but as Harraz backs away, Novastorm comes back down with a rather noisy clatter. Paul doesn't want the match to get away so easily and so moves in again to punish Novastorm some more, but the rammer escapes the wall and jets in reverse before Paul can reach him. This leaves Harraz in a disadvantageous situation, one such opportunity that Novastorm accepts gratefully. The wedge rammer bores into the side of Harraz and is able to defeat the side skirt, but can't get underneath the main body of Harraz and ends up pushing him rather slowly. Harraz' own motors kick in and he drives backwards, spinning both of them in an arc, lest Tony's assault lead him into the nearby Disc of Death. In said way they go over the arena spike instead...and Harraz is inverted! And now so is Novastorm! Oh dear, both robots got a taste of that arena spike! Tony, happily, designed Novastorm to work the same either way up, but Harraz isn't so lucky, his lifting arm is now useless for attacks! Harraz desperately scoots across the arena to find some space to self-right properly, but Novastorm's having none of that! With a burst of speed Tony's bot is right on Harraz' tail! Hexadecimal watches as Harraz suddenly crashes right into the wall near her CPZ in a blind panic, and Novastorm crashes into him a second later, getting under the rear skirt, and then pushing Harraz into the CPZ. Hex moves away from the wall a bit and raises her lifting blades...Paul knows what's coming and tries to use the lifter to get off of Novastorm, but that only removes his traction fully, tipping him onto his side, and Tony pushes Paul into the chaos that awaits!
CRASH!!!
Oh me, oh my! That's certainly a brutal, brutal scarring! It's no gash, but a huge dent has been made in Harraz' underbelly! Because Novastorm was in the way, Harraz didn't move much from the collision, but Novastorm certainly got sent back a few inches. Hexadecimal lowers her lifting blades again, but Harraz has fallen right side up again and gets away before Hex can use them or Novastorm can shove him back in. Novastorm, twisting about, goes for Harraz immediately, but Paul's not playing around anymore! Harraz spins and meets the charge from Novastorm, but gets under the V-wedges anyway and immediately lifts Novastorm from the front, Novastorm not bouncing off this time. And now Harraz takes Novastorm, still lifting him, right into the arena wall again! And with an arena-rattling slam, Harraz 'high-sticks' Novastorm flat into the wall with enough speed and power to make a Smart Fortwo cry! :proud: The crowd is absurdly pleased and holler louder...and whoa! Up goes Novastorm...OH! Well. Because of Novastorm's extremely compact dimensions, he just barely was able to stay in the arena! Paul tries to lower the lifter but Novastorm is in the way of it coming down...Harraz backs up and Novastorm falls to earth, but not quite! Harraz is between him and the earth! Harraz finally gets the lifter down and gets under the rear of Novastorm...who promptly falls directly on top of Harraz! :proud: Before Paul can react to such a surprising development, Novastorm drives off of Harraz and in the general direction of the pit release button. Harraz whips around quickly, but Novastorm's already hit the button, lowering the pit. Now Novastorm whips about, and both robots suddenly repeat their first battle tactic; slam straight into each other! Another great WHAM! resonates into the stands, and Novastorm bounces away again, and scoots off in reverse back towards the button before Harraz can react. But react, Harraz does; and again they slam into each other! This time Tony is too near the button and is thrown into it; Paul pushes forward, Harraz getting under the front of Novastorm again and lifting, lifting, lifting...and Novastorm's stuck again, with Harraz unable to lower the lifting arm completely. He backs away again, but this time Novastorm falls at an angle, and landing on Harraz' side slides off and jets out towards the middle of the arena to conjure up another attack. Harraz again spins around but Novastorm is already coming back towards him! Harraz comes forward, but Paul, thinking to catch Novastorm before it can bounce away, activates the lifter too early and Novastorm ends up getting completely under Harraz! Collecting the lifter on his wedge, Tony turns towards the pit and drives straight at it. Harraz tries to get some sort of movement going to save its arse, but you're SOL, dear Paul. Novastorm completes its journey to the abyss and Harraz ends up eating a face full of pit bottom.

Paul, you'd better 'harraz' up and design us up a Mark II version, I'd say. :wink:
