Fissure vs. Nerix vs. The Crashing Bore 2 vs. The Kill Point
The Kill Point will be my first target. I can€™t see it causing Fissure much trouble. Try and get the lifting arm in one of those four wheel slots, lift it in the air and dump it in the pit or over the fence. The Crashing Bore 2 will be next. I assume the skirts will be off with a spinner in the battle. That leaves a 20mm clearance to get under and perform the same trick as with The Kill Point. Again, I can€™t see the drill or trap causing me many problems. Nerix could be a problem, so I€™ll either avoid that as best I can or offer a team up with AK.

Both Fissure and Kill Saw have side clearences I can exploit, so my aim is to push either of those into Nerix to stall it, then get my own wedge under Nerix. Grapple/lift it, and pit it.
After that Ill aim to do the same to whichever robot got Nerixd.

APOCALYPSE Vs DERVISH: THE 1337 GENERATION Vs TENGU VII Vs UNDER PRESSURE

Grab the kids and run for the bomb shelter - the Apocalypse is nigh! Making its PTT debut, the Phoenix Cup champion is a roly-poly wedge with side-skirts and a huge, rear-hinged flipper. Powered by two 1000psi non-attached rams, the flipper delivers approximately 2500kg of force every time its fired. Get too close to this low-slung launchpad and youll be soaring higher than a nuclear missile! Apocalypse remains as tough as they come, with a 4mm Hardox shell and 5mm titanium skirts. Its also a hell of a pusher, with 2 x B42-500s powering its six vulcanised wheels (slanted for maximum manouverability), while its Mute-style barbs will ensure no robot escapes the wedge unflipped. The flipper will be useless once the gas runs out, however, and its 4mm aluminium base will be vulnerable to powerful cutting weapons. Itll be the end of the world for a lot of robots tonight: will it be the end of Apocalypse?

OMG WTF NEWD ERVISH!!!!111 After disappointing results in previous PTTs, Dervish is hoping for a r8 good run this time round in its latest incarnation, the 1337 Generation. Originally modelled closely on Barberous, the main weapon on this awesome axlebot is a beater - a 22kg spinning rectangle made of solid titanium, designed to bludgeon and batter rather than rip and tear. The beater is powered by a LEM-130 lynch motor and can reach speeds of 1500rpm. NO WAI! Dervish is both steady and manoueverable with top speeds of 10mph and can take as well as it gives, with triangular guards made from 4mm Hardox shielding the wheels. Of course, its invertible frame does mean the wheels are still vulnerable to overhead attacks and axlebots are renowned for their poorer pushing power. Will Dervish win the internets or be LOLed out of the contest?

Now entering its fifth war, Tengu has grazed the peaks of PTT greatness many times, but never quite made a successful landing. This year could be Alexs year, however, as his synthetic swordsman has never looked deadlier! Relatively unchanged since the last tournament, Tengu VII is a lean, green full-body spinner with a variety of interchangeable blades. The spinner is powered by a 4 Magmotor at a gear ratio of 6:1, producing up to 80kJ per hit at maximum power. Theres nothing bird-brained about this avain annihilator, let me tell you! Tengu is also fitted with a unique anti-spinner ring, mounted independently between the whirling blades. Made from toughened polypropylene, it can deflect fellow spinners and allow it to spin up in a crushers grip. Throw in a rubbery circular skirt, a fast self-righting arm and excellent manoueverability and Tengu looks like the full package. However, its four wheels have poor traction and 18mph top speeds will make this tough ol bird hard to tame.

Which is just what youll be if you ever face this monster! Under Pressure is similar in design to fellow Dutch droid and former PTT Semi-Finalist, Tough as Nails - a large pair of horizontal pincers of wheels. In this case, however, there are two pairs of claws, one on top of the other. The bottom pair are wedge-shaped to scoop up opponents, making it easier for the top pair to squeeze their guts out. The claws are powered by an LEM-130 running at 36v and a Vivoil pump at 3000psi, producing 3.5 tonnes of force at each tip. That ought to get your point across nicely, Martijn. Under Pressure is highly manoueverable with top speeds of 14mph and well protected to boot, with 3.5mm Hardox protecting the claws and 5mm titanium for the rear body. The two rear wheels are shieled too, though the invertible frame means that theyre vulnerable to overhead attacks and the more powerful pushers will likely put Martijn under...Well, you see where this is going.

The buzzer has barely sounded and Dervish and Tengu have already started up their horrible spinning weapons! Tengu quickly manouevers away from the crowd to reach full power fast, while Dervish takes a more head-on approach by charging at Under Pressure! The beater strikes the right claw, putting a ding in the Hardox shell! Under Pressure retaliates by scooping up Dervish and activating those monstrous crushing claws! Dan tries to get away, but Dervishs left wheel is now in Under Pressures clutches! The two axlebots wrestle briefly, Dervish struggling to land another blow with the beater! Martijn is just beginning to get the upper hand when Apocalypse comes careering across the warzone, closely followed by Tengu! The Phoenix Cup champion ploughs under the axlebots and away, leaving Under Pressure to feel Tengus wrath instead!
CRRRASH!
The sparks fly as the blow sends Dervish and Under Pressure spinning! Both bots seem to have survived in tact, but Under Pressures grip has been loosened by the attack! Dervish finally wriggles free from the claws grasp and starts up the beater to have a pop at Apocalypse! Under Pressure meanwhile decides to exact revenge on Tengu and follows the PTT3 Finalist to the top of the warzone! Tengus shell is once again revving up to speed, but gets clipped by the huge right pincer of Under Pressure! The blades slowed, Tengu makes to get away for some room, but is under pressure (so to speak) from Martijns machine! Dancing in the glow of the Flame Grills fire, the two robots try to outmanouever each other! Tengu manages to land a couple of glancing blows on Under Pressure, but the newcomer is holding up well to the legendary blades! Tengu soon lands a third blow, but is flung away over the Flame Grill and into the top wall! Quite literally seizing the moment, Under Pressure pounces and scoops Tengu up as it makes its escape! The axlebot tightens its grip on the struggling veteran and rams the former Finalist into the Void Activation Button! Alex tries to wriggle free, but the pincers now have his machine in a tight embrace! Tengu is trapped!
Meanwhile Apocalypse and Dervish have been going at it hammer and tong - well, flipper and beater, to be more specific. Dervish has managed to land a couple of glancing blows on Apocalypse, but the newcomers Hardox armour is relatively unscathed thus far! Dan is finding it hard to land a good blow, Apocalypse being nearly twice as fast as his machine, but the beater is spinning faster than a furious Gordon Ramseys whisk! Dervish narrowly misses a charge from Apocalypse and swings around into its back! Apocalypse hops right off the ground, the rear titanium skirt looking rather crumpled! Apocalypse spins around for some payback, only to receive a wedgeful of Dervish! The veteran hurridly backs off as Liam misfires the flipper and tries to attack Apocalypses side! The beater clips and dents the skirt but only serves to enrage Apocalypse further! The newcomer turns and scrapes underneath Dervish before it can back off! This time, the flipper hits its mark and sends the PTT veteran flying into the air! No sooner does it land than Apocalypse is on its case again! Charging back under, the Phoenix Cup champion rams the axlebot across the arena and towards the western wall! The flipper fires...and the egg whisk of doom goes tumbling over the fence and out of its fourth PTT!
Back at the top of the ring, a fearsome tug-of-war is taking place between Tengu and Under Pressure! Alex is fighting valienty to free himself from Under Pressures grasp, but Martijn is slowly managing to drag him down the arena! The claws angle and grip are also making it hard for Tengu to start spinning again, even with the anti-spinner ring! Luckily (or maybe unluckily) for Alex, Apocalypse comes to join the fun having disposed of Dervish! The roly-poly wedge ploughs under the struggling duo and fires its big red flipper! The locked robots jump, but neither goes over, causing Apocalypse to come in for another charge! The flipper fires again, this time causing Under Pressure to hop! Grinning mischieviously, Liam wants to see if Scream can flip both bots at once and begins pushing them towards the CPZ, giving them another cheeky flip on the way! That last flip seems to have done the trick, though, as Under Pressures grip has finally been weakened enough for Tengu to escape! Wasting no time, Alex drives down to the bottom of the ring in a flash to spin up, leaving Apocalypse and Under Pressure to duel each other! Sticking with its original game plan, Apocalypse powers under Pressure (Ha ha. Tis to laugh) and dumps the axlebot onto Screams enormous wedge! With a shriek, Under Pressure is sent rocketing skyward, only just managing to land inside the arena! Martijn groans - as if things couldnt get any worse, Apocalypse is back and hes brought a friend with him...
CRRRASH!
Tengu barges into Under Pressures right claw and sends the newcomer into a spin! Martijn quickly regains control and tries to scoop Tengu up into its crushing arms, but the veteran swerves away to spin up! Apocalypse takes its place, charging underneath the axlebot and smacking it into the northern wall! Under Pressure makes to grapple the roly-poly wedge but one flip from Apocalypse leaves it propped up against the fence! Martijn flexes the claws, attempting to push his machine off the barrier and back onto the ground! Apocalypse isnt having any of this, however, and one final flip sends Under Pressure tumbling onto the camera track!

FROM BOURNE, IN LINCOLNSHIRE, FISSURE!

Lifting itself out from its rocky hovel, Fissure is ready to crack a few skulls as it makes its combat premiere! A boxy bot with sloped sides and a front wedge, the entire central section of the body is home to an enormous lifting spike made from 4mm Hardox. The arm runs right down the middle of the robot and is powered by a 3000psi hydraulic ram, given a kick start by an S28-150 Magmotor. This gives the arm 16 tonnes of force at the ram and can be used to roll, lift, carry and skewer its opponents. Whether it can make the tea as well is still under debate. Fissure is a nippy newcomer, with its two Aluminium 7075 wheels letting it trundle at 12mph, and its 7mm Titanium/Vanadium alloy monocoque shell can take plenty of punishment. That said, a good flipper could take advantage of the 10mm ground clearance, as well as the slow srimech. Lets see how well Fissure vents its fury...
FROM KILKIVAN, IN AUSTRALIA, NERIX!

Coming from a team full of successful translational vapours, Nerix has a lot to live up to, but one look at its stats shows great promise. This three-wheeled triangle is driven by six S28-400 Magmotors and can reach spinning speeds of 1500rpm in barely three seconds. Did I mention the spinning part weighs 75kg? No? Well, I have now. Bet youre wish I hadnt. Anywho, Nerix is also fitted with a lifting arm on a turret, powered by a linear actuator. The wedge weights a hefty 25kg and is designed to trail behind the bot as it translates around the ring. It is quick and efficient, able to reright the robot in under two seconds, and with up to 5mm Hardox 500 protecting the innards, Aaron has spared no expense in making Nerix as deadly as its predecessors. Unfortunately, the quicker rammers could take advantage of the three second spin-up time and with tops speeds of only 5mph, Nerix could quickly find itself lost in translation!
FROM GAINSBOROUGH, THE CRASHING BORE 2!

Back for a fourth PTT after a recent upgrade, the Crashing Bore 2 is showing no signs of slowing down in spite of its age. The oldest competing vapourbot has changed little in terms of design over the years and this latest incarnation stays true to Franks winning formula. A skirted box with dusty red paint, the Bore is armed with three distinctive weapons; a front lifting wedge powered by a linear actuator, a drill hidden within said wedge and, of course, the jagged, Mousetrap-style guillotine, powered by two LEM-130s. The idea of this weapons synergy is to snap and trap. A robot drives onto the wedge, the trap grapples them, the wedge rises and the drill pokes out to skewer their underbelly. Poetry in motion. The former NSBFL champ is also a competant rammer, with a mixture of Hardox and titanium armour and plenty of push from the two LEMs. Its manoueverability could be improved, however, and if a flipper gets past the skirts to the 20mm ground clearance, the Crashing Bore could go crashing out again.

FROM JERSY, THE KILL POINT!

Named after a short-lived crime drama from Bravo, theres nothing subtle about the Kill Point. Then again, theres nothing subtle about robotic combat, so this newcomer should fit right in! Similar in appearance to Mr Nasty, this boxy bot is armed with a front drill, powered by a Bosch motor. Its main weapon, however, is really brute force. The Kill Point is powered by four 750w electric motors which, combined with its four Vulcanon wheels and top speeds of 12mph, make it an efficient little pusher indeed. This newbie is a slippery customer, measuring barely 10cm in height, and can run just as well upside-down as right way up. Unfortunately, this leaves the wheels open to axes and crushers, and with 3mm titanium armour, one of our more powerful competitors could make the Kill Points career as short-lived as its namesake.

Nerix immediately begins spinning, while Fissure and the Kill Point go head-to-head! Fissure tries to get the huge lifting arm underneath the rammer, but the Kill Point is proving a very slippery eel indeed and makes to skewer Fissures sides with its front drill! The duo spar until the Crashing Bore arrives on the scene, guillotine poised to strike! Unsure which robot to go for, Frank finally settles on the one with the weakest armour - the Kill Point! As Elliots rammer lands a glancing blow on Fissure, the Crashing Bore charges it side-on and snaps the trap! The Kill Points lid takes some very nasty dings, but the wheels remain unscathed, much to Elliots relief! The Kill Point darts away before the Bore can land a second blow and charges at Fissure again! The two are just about to resume their little scuffle when Nerix swoops in like a vampire bat! Fissure narrowly avoids the translational spinner, but the Kill Point isnt so lucky...
CRRRASH!
Elliots machine is thrown aside in a shower of sparks! It looks like everybody wants a piece of the Kill Point today, but Mr Stevens isnt about to bow to public demand! The Kill Point avoids another shunt from Fissure and zips up the arena to release the Void! In the meantime, Fissure and the Crashing Bore are going at it while Nerix starts spinning again! The Bore manages to catch Fissure with the guillotine, but barely dings the tough Hardox shell! Wriggling free, Fissure gives the PTT veteran a shunt, just as Nerix returns...
CRRRASH!
This time, the Bore takes the brunt of the blow! The Hardox armour has held up well to the attack, but one of the titanium side-skirts looks a little mangled! As Nerix begins to spin up again, Fissure goes at the Bore again, managing to scrape its great hydraulic arm under the crumpled skirt! The lifting spike does its stuff and rolls the Bore over onto its back, but not for long! One snap of the trap and the PTT veteran is back on its wheels and ready for revenge! As Fissure and the Bore begin dancing again, Nerix finds itself in a spot of bother! The Kill Point has returned from opening the Void and reversed right into the whirling triangle, stopping it completely! Aaron tries to manouever away to get spinning again, but the Kill Point is just too quick! Nerix is pushed all the way up the arena and straight into the open arms of Michael Pliers! The axe comes crashing down, but Nerix barely feels a thing! Hardox 500 will do that, folks. A shunt from the House Robot puts Nerix back into the warzone, where it immediately begins spinning again! Unfortunately, the Kill Point has been waiting for it and rams the spinner head-on! The hefty triangle has been stopped again, but the Kill Point has been flung away, giving Nerix precious seconds to slink away and rev up once more! The Kill Point charges after the Australian machine, but too late! Nerix is nearing top speed and the two are about to collide again!
CRRRASH!
The Kill Point is sent reeling as something flies across the battlefield! Elliot grimaces - not only is the titanium armour starting to look in pretty bad shape, but the drill has been completely shattered! Not much point left fighting, eh? Wrong! Undeterred, Elliot sends the Kill Point in for another attack, but Nerix deftly dodges and trundles down to rejoin Fissure and the Crashing Bore! Little has happened with the duo thus far aside from the odd barge and both competitors are pleased with a new development! Frank attempts to push Fissure into Nerixs spinning body, when the Kill Point crashes the party by crashing into the Crashing Bore! Suitably annoyed, the Bore changes its target and whacks the Kill Point with its guillotine as it backs off for another charge! The newcomer now has a perferated top to add to its list of woes and its only going to get worse! Here comes Nerix again!
CRRRASH!
The sparks fly as the translation triangles blades rip into the Kill Points side! Elliot barely has time to breathe when the Crashing Bore comes in to dish out another blow from the guillotine! The Kill Point is starting to look a little sluggish now as it tries to evade its attackers! No such luck, though, as the Bores blade comes crashing down again! This time, the blade seems to have caught one the wheels! The Bore juts back and forth, hoping perhaps to rip the tyres open, but only allows the Kill Point to wriggle free! Elliot desperately tries to think of a strategy when he is blindsided by a full-speed Nerix!
CRRRASH!
The 3mm titanium is cut like rice paper by the Australian annihilator! The Kill Point, slower than ever, attempts a getaway, only to be shunted by Fissure and the Bore! Fissure goes for the gusto this time, scraping under the Kill Point and pushing it across the arena into the western wall! The mighty arm rises, but fails to flip the Kill Point all the way over! To Elliots dismay, Nerix and the Bore come to join the fun, with Nerix at the head of the cue! Fissure backs off...
CRRRASH!
The Kill Point is bounced off the wall like a tennis ball! Elliot fights for control, but it seems that last attack was too much for the systems to handle - the robot appears to have stopped altogether! Battered, bruised and torn open, the Kill Point can only sit as the Grim Beeper glides into view...
1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!
As Michael Pliers comes to sweep up the mess, the three survivors move down to the bottom of the warzone! Fissure and the Bore have barely started their dance again when Frank manages to snag Fissure with the guillotine! The blade appears to have fallen into the bodys empty middle section where the arm is housed - prime grappling estate! Fissure attempts to wriggle free, but Frank has other ideas! Activating the front wedge, he lifts Fissure off the ground and into the path of Nerix!
CRRRASH!
The two robots are knocked apart on contact! Fissure still looks OK, despite a few extra scars, and gives the Bore a ram as revenge! This plays into Franks hands, however, as the Bore scoops up Fissure again and grapples it with the guillotine! Noticing the Void is nearby, Frank spins the Bore round and aims straight for the corner zone! Fissure frantically tries to escape, but the lifting wedge appears to have sealed its fate! The Bore brakes, the trap retracts and Fissure falls into the purple-and-yellow abyss!
CEASE!
The Kill Point gets cancelled a second time, while Fissure cracks! :proud:

Nerix will keep the wedge between itself and the opponent until there is an opening for unleashing havoc. A game of cat and mouse around a wedge, with only a nasty spinner to face as a prize :D
Tengus biggest weakness is that it has interchangeable teeth, meaning theyre only bolted on, not welded. One or two box rushes, theyll start coming off, Tengu will Mauler dance forcing Alex to turn off the spinner, and can then be disposed of easily :)

Well, at least I made the second round.
Against Nerix all I can try and do is try and use Nerixs own strategy against it, by driving straight at the wedge and ramming it against the wall to stop the spinner. If I manage to stop the spinner Ill just have to try and somehow get underneath, and when on top it cant spin as itll be stuck on the barbs. If I manage to get it on top then its straight to the pit or the arena wall. Good luck Aaron :)

A lot of generalisation and assumings there Frank. Even though I doubt Alex has even thought of how to attach the teeth, there are heaps of industrial machines that use bolt on blades that have impacts much more serious then combat robots, very rarely do these teeth fly off. There are a few robots now with slotting designs that just use a bolt to keep the tooth in place, and the bolt doesnt take any of the direct impacts.
That kind of generalisation is rash, bit like me saying just because your english, youll whinge about something :lol: Which may or may not be true.

If you do ram into Nerixs wedge, youll either:
A) wedge yourself on it
B) wedge yourself under it, and go straight into 75kg of rotational mass

Well, you learn something new every day. Revised tactics are to try and latch onto the top seeing as that bit doesnt spin.
By the way, question about Nerix. Since its a translational spinner, how do you make sure the wedge always points where you want it? It looks to be on a turret, but I cant imagine it being able to compensate for the spinning main body if you were just using a motor to turn it.
Nerix actually drives around the pivot point of the wedge to keep it in alignment with the opponent.
Even though I doubt Alex has even thought of how to attach the teeth

More to the point as tengu is now so old I cant remember half of what it does do, but Im pretty sure that the upper part does spin anyway.
My tactics are to whack it repeatedly until one of us breaks down. Ahhhh the unparralleled finesse I show in my tactics at 2am... tremble in fear all

A T-shaped thwackbot with a pickaxe head and a spinning blade mounted on the underbelly which can reach speeds of 2500rpm. Fast and manoueverable, but not the best pusher.
FROM BOURNE, IN LINCOLNSHIRE, OVERDRIVE!
(Represented by Andrew Jackson)
A low invertible box with a tapered rear and naked aggression as its weapon. Its the fastest here at 15mph and very tough with steel and aluminium 7075 armour, but the four wheels are open to overhead attacks.

A bright pink box with a front wedge and plenty of push in its four wheels. Its invertible with thick titanium armour, but again, the wheels are vulnerable to axes and crushers.

A tall wedge with sloping sides and a rear-hinged flipping arm powered by actuators. Its very nippy, with a pair of retractable spatulas on the front to scrape under enemies, but could suffer against the rammers.

OverDrive gets off to the quickest start, charging head-on into the Canadian entry, Heretic! Kody quickly manouevers away and begins spinning up as Sith joins the fun! The little wedge heistates a moment before diving in, taking a sharp blow to its low front from the axe and spinning bar! Painful, but at least Heretic has stopped spinning! Sith darts underneath the thwackbot and flicks it over, the spinning blade now on top rather than on the bottom! Heretic is just moving away when a siren echoes over the battlefield! It seems that Pillow Torque has gone and opened the Void, and is now careering across the arena to rejoin the other robots! As it crashes into Heretic, the quartet splits up - OverDrive attacks Sith, while Pillow Torque hounds Heretic! Sith tries to outmanouever OverDrive, but the rammer is simply too swift! Driving into Siths sloped side, OverDrive pours on the gas and begins pushing the junkyard jedi across the arena! Alex quickly turns Sith around and forces Andys rammer up the front wedge! The flipper fires and over goes OverDrive! Andy is unfazed, however, given his machines invertible frame and goes in on the attack again, this time managing to push Sith into the western wall! Sith attempts to get away, but OverDrive is now pounding it like a steak! Alex is concerned - hes not taking much damage, but he is finding it very hard to fight back!
Meanwhile, Heretic and Pillow Torque have been dancing on the other side of the arena! Heretic is trying to bring its spinning blade into play, but now that its upside-down, its barely clipping the top of Pillow Torques wheels! Kody decides on a simpler tactic for the time being and begins spinning on the spot, but Pillow Torque takes the blow with relative ease and plows underneath, smacking Heretic into the eastern wall! The thwackbot bounces off the barrier and begins to make its escape, but gets another shunt from Pillow Torque for its troubles! The rammer quickly backs up and comes in for an especially powerful charge! The flailing Heretic is slammed into the wall, flicked upward and topples right-side up again! Feeling rather more relieved, Kody finally escapes Pillow Torque after his robot takes one last punch and drives to the other side of the ring, blade spinning up to speed!
Over at the western wall, Sith has managed to escape OverDrives punishing assault and is currently engaged in a dancing contest with the rammer! Alex has just managed to catch OverDrive on his wedge and flip it over again when Heretic arrives on the scene, closely followed by Pillow Torque! The four machines collide in a shower of sparks as Heretics blade hits something! Judging from the Karoline and Franks cringing faces, we can guess that something was Pillow Torque! It seems the blade may have clipped a tyre or two as well, as the rammer appears to be a little slower than before! I pity those wheels, I really do! A rather nasty scar on its front indicates that Sith has been hit too! Alex isnt about to take this lying down, however, as he barges into Heretic and attempts to invert it again! This time, Heretic slides off the wedge just before the flipper fires and darts out of harms way! Poor Sith, meanwhile, takes yet another blow from OverDrive, who begins pushing the little wedge down towards the Void! Sith struggles against OverDrive and even manages to get underneath with the flipper again! Unfortunately, OverDrive doesnt go all the way over and immediately begins pushing against Sith once more! As if things werent bad enough, Heretic and Pillow Torque arrive on the scene, with Pillow Torque swooping in for a dig at OverDrive! The sparks fly again as Heretics spinning blade crashes into Sith again! Alex struggles vainly as the quartet reach the Void, but one last nudge from OverDrive sends the junkyard jedi down into the abyss! OverDrive has just begun to back up when Pillow Torque plows under its rear and wipes Andys satisfied smile from his face - its pushed OverDrive into the Void as well!
With two robots remaining, Pillow Torque returns to the centre of the ring, where Heretic is now waiting for it, spinning blade a mere blur! Pillow Torque charges in, taking a wedgeful of blade in the process! The 3mm titanium front seems to have held up, but Karoline and Frank barely have time to react as Heretic comes in for a side assault! The sparks fly as the blade scrapes the bottom of Pillow Torques shell, buckling it slightly! Pillow Torque begins to back up for a charge, but the slightly nippier Heretic manages to clips its side again with the blade! A rather loud clatter indicates the shell has been buckled even more! Finally having enough, Pillow Torque slams into the thwackbot and shunts it aside like a snowplough! Undeterred, Heretic immediately leaps into action again, smacking into Pillow Torques rear! The blow knocks the rammer aside, allowing Heretic to attack the more damaged side once more! Karoline and Frank look worried, as Pillow Torque is starting to look very sluggish about now! Heretic sees its chance and swoops in again! Pillow Torque attempts to fend it off, but takes another hit to the wedge in doing so! Heretic runs around the wounded rammer and swings around into its back! The 2.4mm titanium shell takes another battering from the blade and did I see the blade slip underneath to the wheels there? Whether it did or not, that last blow seems to have done the trick! Pillow Torque is twitching, but doesnt seem able to take another step! The Grim Beeper swoops over to inspect the scene! He gives Pillow Torque a nudge and waits a few seconds! With no sign of coherent movement, the Beeper raises his scythe on high...

Heretic spins for joy as Mr Hyde lumbers over to dispose of the body! Karoline and Frank can only make rude gestures at the House Robot as he cradles Pillow Torque in its arms and batter it with his sledgehammer! Have you ever seen anything more pitiful...or hilarious?

Alex is keen to avenge Achilles agonizingly-close loss to the Bore back in PTT4, and hes off to a good start as Tengu begins spinning almost immediately. The Crashing Bore attempts to box-rush its opponent, but Tengus superior manoueverability is making it hard to hit! All too soon for Frank, Tengu reaches its optimum speed and jerks into reverse, clattering into the Bores side!
CRRRASH!
The Bore is thrown away as the sparks fly from the impact! The 8mm Hardox wedge has barely taken a dint thankfully, although the dusty red paintjob has taken a scuffing! Frank barely has time to recover when Tengu swoops in again for another attack!
CRRRASH!
This time, the blades hit the Bores left-hand side, crumpling the titanium skirt! Tengu isnt going to get off lightly, however, as the Bore barges into it before it can run away and start spinning again! Frank snaps the trap, grappling Tengus titanium top tightly! Tengu attempts an escape, but the Bores superior traction easily pushes it up the arena towards Fawkes CPZ! Thankfully for Alex, Tengu manages to wriggle free shortly before reaching the House Robot and scuttles away to the other end of the ring! The Bore follows in hot pursuit, but Tengu has already started spinning! The former Finalist swerves around and crashes into the Bores side at half-speed, once more scratching the paint and shredding the skirt! The Bore quickly recovers and goes on the attack, clipping Tengus lid with a swing of the guillotine! Tengu easily escapes the Bores grip and begins revolving once again, this time heading towards the top end of the warzone! The Bore is once again hot on its heels and catches up to the spinner! The blades clip the wedge, knocking the two robots away from each other! His lovely new paintjob once again scuffed and scraped, Frank realises how close he is to the Void Activation Button! As Tengu begins to spin up again, he takes a chance and quickly rams the Button! The all-too familiar siren echoes over the battleground as the Bore charges towards Tengu, now almost a blur! Alex narrowly avoids the assault and swerves around into Franks side again!
CRRRASH!
The skirt once again takes the worst of the blow, this time almost snapping clean in half! Frank frowns - the former NSBFL champ may be losing its skirts more often than Carmen Elektra, but the attack has once again slowed Tengu down! As Alex revs up the spinning shell once more, the Bore rushes into the accelerating blades and stops them altogether! In a flash, the trap is fired and Tengu finds itself once again in the Bores grip! Wasting no time, Frank pours on the petrol and begins pushing Tengu down the arena, his eyes clearly fixed on the Void! Tengu struggles and stutters in attempts to break free, dragging the Bore this way and that, but the grandfather of vapourbots still has the upper hand! It is only as they approach the edge of the Voids corner zone that Tengu manages to squirm out of the Bores clutches! Alex breathes a sigh of relief and quickly figures out which way his machine is actually facing as the shell begins to spin threateningly! As Tengu starts off back to the top of the ring, however, the Bore intercepts it, stopping the blades and yet again ruining the classic red paint! Unrelenting, the Bore shunts Tengu and grapples it with the guillotine once more! The former NSBFL champ twirls around, dragging Tengu with it, and charges towards the Void with a burst of speed! Alex fiddles with his controls in panic, even activating the srimech arm to try and push the trap away, but nothing comes of it! Tengu tumbles into the Void and Frank retracts the guillotine, beaming proudly!

Though weary of his opponent, Liam is wasting no time in getting stuck into Nerix, as Apocalypse charges the translational spinner head-on! His own machine barely starting up, Aaron quickly twirls Nerix around, bringing the lifting arm to the front! Wedge meets wedge, but Apocalypse proves the lower! Unfortunately, this means that it hits Nerixs spinning blades instead! Nerix is only just warming up, so Apocalypse has taken very little damage, but has been knocked away in the process, allowing Aarons entry to trundle away and continue spinning up! Apocalypse quickly regains its senses and charges the whirling Nerix backwards!
CRRRASH!
The two robots are flung away from each other in a shower of sparks! Apocalypses rear is looking rather scuffed, as is the rear skirt, while Nerix has bounced straight into the arena wall! The translational triangle is OK, but the blades have been ground to a halt! Aaron has barely started Nerixs spinning again when Apocalypse comes thundering towards it! Once again, wedge meets wedge and Apocalypse proves the lower! This time, however, Nerixs accelerating blades dont bother Apocalypse as the flipper sends the Australian machine onto its back! Aaron activates the lifting arm, only just self-righting in time to avoid another onslaught from Apocalypse! Nerix begins spinning once more, but Apocalypse is already on the attack again! The quicker of the two by over 10mph, it crashes into Nerix before the pivoting wedge can block it and hits the whirling blades! Apocalypse is knocked aside, but the Hardox shell has held up well! As Nerix desperately tries to reach its menacing top speed, Apocalypse charges it down again, successfully flipping it over a second time! Aaron has only just begun to self-right when Apocalypse bumps his machine and begins pushing it towards the arena wall! Nerix lands on its wheels just as Liam fires the flipper! It hops into the air and tumbles onto its back again, thankfully staying on the right side of the fence! Apocalypse flips Nerix again, hoping to repeat its double KO in round one, but no such luck! Nerix is now right-side up and immediately starts to spin up! Apocalypse quickly rams the translational triangle, once more halting the blades and scratching the big red flipper! Nerixs slow speed is proving its downfall here as Apocalypse scrapes underneath the 7mm ground clearance and shunts the Australian entry all the way to the northwest corner of the warzone, where the Void Activation Button lies! The flipper fires...and Nerix soars over the fence and out of the ring as a familiar siren blares - Apocalypse has crashed into the Button!

Apocalypses barbs unfortunately are virtually perfect things for the Bore to snag on to, so I predict an easy win for the great grandfathers mothers room mates uncles sons doctors previous romantic interests passing acquaintance...of vapourbots? here.

I respect TCB2 greatly, its a very good vapour and although Joey thinks Apocalypse will lose easily as per normal I think I have a fighting chance, as the bore is very thin, meaning it has a narrow angle of attack, and hopefully this should allow me to try and dodge the front and try the sides, hopefully getting under the skirts to get in the void or over the fence ASAP.

APOCALYPSE & TENGU VII won their battle after Apocalypse flipped both Dervish: The 1337 Generation and Under Pressure out of the arena!
NERIX & THE CRASHING BORE 2 won their battle after Nerix battered The Kill Point into submission and the Bore grappled and pitted Fissure.

The two competitors are off to a quick start. The Crashing Bore aims to plow into Apocalypse, but the blue wedge swerves to the side, narrowly avoiding a blow from the guillotine! Apocalypse charges into the veterans side, but only succeeds in pushing it to one side! Apocalypse turns to try again, only to be met by the Bore head-on! In the battle of wedge against wedge, Apocalypse proves the lower! The big red flipper fires, effortlessly flicking the Bore onto its back! Liam doesnt get a chance to finish it off however as the veteran flicks itself upright again almost immediately! Apocalypse dives in for another attack, clipping the Bores wedge! Rather keen to end this battle sooner rather than later, Frank sends the original vapourbot to the top of the arena, closely followed by Apocalypse! The Bore puts on a burst of speed and charges at the Void Activation Button! With the all-too familiar klaxon echoing in his ears, Frank turns his machine around as Apocalypse catches up! The trap snaps and snags the spiny blue wedge, though does little harm to its Hardox armour! Apocalypse repays the Bore by firing its flipper, nearly sending the veteran onto its back again! Remaining right way up and requiring some breathing space, the Bore bumps Apocalypse aside and darts back into the freedom of the warzone!
Apocalypse chases down the Bore again and rams its rear as they pass the Flame Grill! Liam notices he has scraped under the back skirt and fires, tossing the Bore onto its back! Apocalypse charges the inverted veteran and begins pushing it towards the eastern wall! Liam is just getting ready to land the killing blow when the guillotine reright the Bore in a flash! Apocalypse screeches to a halt, very nearly slamming into the wall itself! The newcomer twirls around to continue its assault, but the Bore surprises it with a side-on attack! Liam tries to get away, but his machine is pinned between the Bore and the barrier! Even worse, the Bores front wedge has scraped underneath the titanium skirts! Frank snaps the trap and lifts Apocalypse into the air! Liam winces; a loud squealing sound tells us that the Bores drill is feasting merrily on Apocalypses aluminium underbelly! Liam fires the flipper, hoping his machine will buck itself free! Unfortunately, this does not appear to work! The Bore turns, carefully maintaining its grip, and shunts the Phoenix Cup champion into the CPZ of Michael Pliers! The House Robot welcomes Apocalypse with open arms - and an axe to the noggin! Liams machine has become the filling of a hammer sandwich! Apocalypse fires his flipper again, this time managing to free himself from its two opponents! The Bore backs off as its rival trundles out of the corner; but not before giving Michael Pliers a little flick for the bother hes caused! The little scamp!
Reuniting in the arena centre, Apocalypse and the Bore are at it again! The Bore attempts to grapple the newcomer again, but Apocalypse just misses the guillotine with its superior manoueverability! The Bore turns to strike again when Apocalypse bumps into its side! Liam hasnt penetrated the skirting this time though and so a brief sumo match breaks out! Apocalypse slowly pushes the Bore down towards the bottom of the ring, with the veteran valiently resisting! Franks even fired the trap to try and anchor himself to the floor! This doesnt stop Apocalypse however as the Phoenix Cup champion keeps up its dogged assault! At last the Bore manages to turn itself around, bringing the guillotine down on the blue wedge! Liam instantly fires the flipper, catching the trap and flicking the Bore off the ground! Apocalypse takes advantage of its opponents dazed state and plows underneath, throwing the veteran right over with another flip! Frank activates the guillotine and the Bore self-rights...straight onto Apocalypses barbed body! Without missing a beat, Apocalypse rockets down towards Dulcys den! The flipper fires once again...and the Bore goes crashing into the House Robots scaly maw! Landing upside-down, the veteran hurridly self-rights as Dulcy lowers her head and lets loose a firey belch! The Bore dodges the razor-sharp claws and flees the CPZ in a flash of red, slightly singed but barely scratched!
Apocalypse and the Bore reconvene near Killeidascope Corner and now tensions are running high! The two competitors begin circling each other, trying to find the right moments to strike again! That moment comes when Apocalypse manages to clip the Bores wedge! The trap fires, but hits only the floor as Apocalypse butts its side! The newcomer wriggles, attempting to get under the skirting once more, when the Bore swings around and brings the guillotine back into play! Apocalypse has started to back off, but the trap still manages to snag some of the barbs! Liam fires the flipper, pushing the trap away, but gets shunted by the Bore before it can retaliate! The Bore clamps Apocalypse again with the guillotine and shoves the newcomer into the southern wall, just a few feet shy of Killeidascope Corner! Frank grins as his wedge scrapes under Apocalypses skirts - its drilling time! As the familiar squeal hits his ears, Liam fires the flipper once more, batting the trap away and shaking his machine loose! Apocalypse quickly regains its grip and reverses off of the Bores wedge! The newcomer slams into the Bores side in an act of vengeance and pushes hard, nearly sending the veteran into the despicable drum housed in Killeidascope Corner! Breathing a sigh of relief, Frank tries to turn the Bore around and bring the trap back into the play! He succeeds...but misses Apocalypse! Apocalypse however scores a perfect hit as it rams the Bore again and scrapes underneath the side-skirts! The flipper flies open and the Bore flies onto its back! Apocalypse dives underneath and begins shunting the Bore up to the top end of the arena! Unfortunately for Liam, he doesnt get very far before the Bore smoothy rights itself! Thatll score Frank a few lovely Style points and hell need as many as he can gather, because time is ticking down and the Judge is sharpening his quill...

And so the battle ends rather fittingly with our competitors locked together. With both robots still mobile, its up to the Judge to decide who makes it through to the Grand Final. Has Apocalypse brought Franks world to ruin or has the Crashing Bore sunk Liams dreams?

Might not help me much, but I figure that you might be able to use a large spinner. You guard me til the discs spun up then Ill wreak havoc on whatever comes. And if I get knocked out in the process, then you have one less robot to fight off :proud:

Right. Gonna avoid Achilles since attacking it seems kinda futile. Dunno what Alex M&W is gonna do, and since Paul is gonna attack me, I'll attack him straight back. :P With my greater power I should be able to slide his own weapon and toss him. Flank Attack won't really be able to grab onto me or Achilles due to our sloped sides, so I won't be bothered with it until after Nitro-Gene's gone. Then I'll smack it around with Achilles.
And a note to Paul: Seung Mina 'tis a 'she'. Go play Soul Calibur, or at least read up on it, lol
And yes, I e-mailed most of the above to Steve already. XD
As for the other fight, I think Infusion will go through with Back to Rock III.

Hail the conquering hero! Upgraded since its hypothetical domination of PTT5, Achilles is back again to defend its title and prove its victory was no accident. The champ remains a toughened box-wedge with skirts and a rounded rear, only it is now lower and more compact, with the wedge also rounded to help deflect spinners. The weaponry remains unchanged - a rear-hinged flipping arm with two different set-ups, hydraulic or pneumatic. The hydraulic mechanism includes a small crushing claw to grapple opponents and uses a Vivoil pump to tip up to 400kg with ease. The pneumatic mechanism includes a small T-shaped bar as an additional srimech and uses a CO2 canister running at 1000psi for high-powered hurling. Throw in two Eteks running at 48v, a skid-steer system for the four wheels and a mixture of titanium and polyurethane rubber armouring and it appears Alex has got the makings of greatness all over again. The lack of damaging weaponry has cost it dearly before, though, and high top speeds of 18mph could well be Achilles' Achilles' heel.

FROM HOLLAND, FLANK ATTACK: DIVISIONARY TACTICS!

Named after the military term for an attack on an enemy's sides, Flank Attack is hoping to quite literally divide and conquer in its first ever PTT. This wide, invertible cuboid is armed with a static front scoop and a huge pair of horizontal crushing arms. The 'Tough as Nails' look is clearly popular this year. The arms are powered by a single hydraulic ram, giving each pincer nearly three tonnes of crushing power, and are hinged on a single point to create even \i{more} pressure as the jaws close. I know I have the sudden urge to retreat, I don't know about you. Flank Attack is one of the toughest robots out there, with up to 15mm titanium protecting its precious innards, and with top speeds of 21mph, it can outmanouevere even the most terrifying tank. This does make it harder to control, however, and its two wheels are vulnerable to airstrikes. Will Flank Attack sweep the battlefield or be swept \i{off} the battlefield?

Nitrogen is the main component of our atmosphere; Nitro-Gene sends its opponents in\i{to} the atmosphere! This newcomer is a low skirted box with tapered sides and a flat front just right for pushing matches. The main weapon is a rear-hinged flipping arm, one of the few to be powered by full-pressure nitrogen (hence the name). The flipper is made of 4mm Hardox with a thick titanium wedge and operates at 1000psi, geared to produce fifteen flips per fight and 1600kg of force at the tips. That's enough to throw an opponent over 11ft up and away with one shot! Paul's star machine can also run upside-down in case the flipper fails and even become a competant rammer, with 3.25mm monocoque Hardox armour,12HP and top speeds of 20mph. That said, the four Vulkanised wheels are open to overhead attacks and if a fellow flipper gets under those skirts, Nitro-Gene could end up part of the atmosphere itself!

HIIIII-YAA! Having already dominated the world of \i{Soul} and the Easter Bunny Tribute Championship, Seung Mina now has her eyes set on the PTT crown. Modelled closely on Achilles, this newcomer is a rounded box-wedge with sloped sides and a curved rear wedge for deflecting those nasty spinners. The main weapon, as you might have guessed, is a rear-hinged pneumatic flipper, powered by a 5kg CO2 tank. The arm can last for around 20 flips and toss over two tonnes without breaking a sweat! Hey, you don't win the Soul Edge by asking nicely, you know. Like the champ, the four wheels run on a skid-steer system via two LEM-130 Lynch motors and is well protected with a 3.2mm Hardox monocoque shell. Like the champ, however, it lacks any truly damaging weaponry and could prove tricky to control with top speeds of 19mph. Seung Mina has studied the PTT master closely; will that prove its undoing?

Flank Attack leaps straight into battle, scuttling across the arena and going head-to-head with Seung Mina! Kody quickly flips the crusher aside and instead turns his attention to Nitro-Gene! Seung Mina crashes into the side of Paul's machine, but it barely misses a flipping from the Canadian entry! Kody prepares to try again when Flank Attack bumps into Seung Mina's rear and slowly grabs a hold of her rear end! Cheeky thing! A brief tug-of-war breaks out between the two, broken by the wail of the Void Activation Button and the arrival of the champion itself, Achilles! The PTT5 gold medallist plows into the locked machines, closely followed by Nitro-Gene! The ensuing car crash weakens Flank Attack's grip and allows Seung Mina to escape with only a pair of dints in the Hardox monocoque shell! Eager for revenge, Seung Mina charges at Flank Attack and hits it right between the claws! Alex Mac tries to grab hold again, but Seung Mina easily pushes his machine to the top of the ring and over the Flame Grill! The flipper fires...and Flank Attack bounces back onto the barbeque pit before scuttling away to rejoin Achilles and Nitro-Gene! Both machines have been circling each other tentatively until now, save for the odd jab. Flank Attack's arrival however inspires Achilles to break away from Nitro-Gene and charge into the Dutch crusher itself! Alex Mac does his best to fight back, but Alex H. isn't having any of it! The PTT champion flips Flank Attack over and is just about to shunt it towards the nearest wall when Seung Mina swoops in and steals the crusher from under Achilles' nose! Guess that fortnight at ninja camp was worth the money after all, eh, Kody? Seung Mina easily plows under the Dutch entry and pushes it towards the bottom of the arena! As they near the southern wall, Seung Mina fires her flipper and sends Flank Attack sailing clean over the barrier and out of the competition!
Seung Mina delights the crowd with a victory spin before meeting up with the others again! Achilles and Nitro-Gene have gotten a little more aggressive now with both machines enthusiastically barging into each other! Seung Mina happily joins in the fun and quickly manages to scrape under Nitro-Gene's side-skirts! The flipper fires, sending the invertible box over onto its back! As Paul scuttles aside to self-right, Achilles takes a pop at Seung Mina by charging into its own side! One push of a button and now Seung Mina is inverted! Kody hurridly self-rights and ignores the champ to go after Nitro-Gene, also right-side up again! The duo meet head-on, but it's Seung Mina who proves just the lower as it flips Nitro-Gene over once more! Paul manouevers to the side to self-right, just as Achilles rams Seung Mina's rear end and tosses her onto her back! Some robots don't know how to treat a lady, do they? Kody rerights his machine in a flash, only for Nitro-Gene to attack from the side and flip, causing Seung Mina to barrel-roll onto her back! The Canadian entry self-rights once more and attempts to fight back, but it seems that Achilles and Nitro-Gene are teaming up on the mighty Soul warrior! Determined to stay in the game, Kody narrowly dodges an assault from Achilles and manouevers round into Nitro-Gene's side! Seung Mina scrapes under the skirting and begins pushing the fellow newcomer over towards the eastern wall! Kody fires the flipper, Nitro-Gene leaps off the ground...and clatters back down onto Seung Mina's head! Paul self-rights onto the ground as Seung Mina tries to flip it again, but before she can launch another attack, Achilles charges under her rear and flips her over once more! It's a flipper frenzy out there, I tell you! Kody rights his machine but barely has time to dish out some punishment when Achilles hits the Canadian machine's side and begins pushing her down towards the Void! Seung Mina gives out once last desperate flick of the arm as she tumbles down into the purple-and-yellow abyss!

Bull in a China Shop doesn't have the best PTT record, but it has always been a colourful and creative competitor. This latest incarnation is no exception, as BIACS-is of Evolution is absolutely barmy! It might look like a tall, passive pyramid at first glance, but those four walls are actually rear-hinged lifting arms! Powered by a single linear actuator, the arms lift in unison, revealing the real robot underneath - a compact cross with a large spinning disc mounted on top! The disc weighs around 20kg and is powered by an S28-400 Magmotor, geared down to run at nearly 2500rpm and produce 48kJ of power. There's nothing about this bull's weaponry to snort at, that's for sure! BIACS-is of Evolution is well protected with 4mm Hardox arms and a 3mm titanium shell and the arms can re-right the machine from any position. Unfortunately, its two little wheels and pair of castors provide little traction and with top speeds of only 9mph, Matt's ingenious design could be a load of bull'!

Back to rock the PTT for a second time, here comes Back to Rock III! Still a boxy bot with a large flipping arm, Martijn has made some significant changes since the last war. The front is now a scoop rather than a wedge, the sides now bear titanium skirts, the rear is rounded for easier self-righting and the arm is more powerful than ever. Operated by an LEM-130 at 36v, the arm uses an interesting rack-and-pinion mechanism which runs through a gearbox, allowing the veteran to either lift with care or quickly right itself. The scoop of the arm also houses a diamond-edged circular saw, spinning at 4000rpm for added bite. Back to Rock is certainly powerful, with six wheels and two LEM-130s at 48v providing excellent pushing power, and a 7mm titanium shell providing more than adequate protection. Top speeds of 18mph can make it difficult to control, however, and with no skirts protecting the rear, a good flipper could send Back to Rock rolling out of the contest!

After great success in the Crash & Burn Tournament and Vapourbot Vengeance, Infusion aims to live up to its legacy and infuse the PTT with a great big chunk of terror. Based heavily on Warrior S.F.K., this machine has a thick wedge at the front and a spinning ring at the rear. The ring is powered by two D-Pack motors at 24v and reach speeds of 2500rpm in two seconds. The twist here is that the kinetic energy of the spinner can be transferred to the drive train to give the robot a kind of 'turbo boost', doubling torque and speed for up to three seconds. With two S28-400 Magmotors at 24v driving the two wheels, maximum speeds of 25mph and Hardox 500 armour up to 6mm thick (10mm for the ring!), Infusion is part-spinner, part-rammer and all-monster! That said, use of the 'turbo boost' will mean decreased control and although it is invertible, the wedge won't work upside-down. Can Infusion brew up a victory? Let's find out...
FROM KELVEDON, THE DEER!

What's that thundering sound heading this way? Why, it's the mighty hooves of the Deer, back again for a second stab at the PTT title! Relatively unchanged since last time, this green skirted box is armed with a pair of horizontal crushing claws modelled after antlers for extra pain. The antlers are hydraulically powered by a 120mm bore ram at 3000psi, giving three and a half tonnes of crushing force at the tips, six tonnes in the middle and a horrifying \i{eight} tonnes right at the back. Deer-y me, that sounds nasty! The Deer is swift creature with tops speeds of 15mph, and with two S28 Magmotors at 24v and a 3.6mm Hardox coat, it can butt heats with the best of them. It's invertible too, but that only leaves the four wheels open to overhead attacks and if a low flipper can use the antlers to its advantage, the Deer could find itself flying onto somebody's plate. Roast venison, anyone?

And already Infusion is putting its unique 'turbo boost' to good use, revving the spinning ring and shooting across the arena, straight into Back to Rock III! Back to Rock gives the Aussie entry a shunt in payback and turns its attention to the Deer, who has its own eyes set on the bewildering BIACS-is of Evolution! Martijn attempts to block the Deer's path, having forged a little alliance with Matt earlier on, and meets the crusher head-on! Back to Rock tries to bring the lifting arm into play but the Deer has managed to get a good hold on the front wedge! The two robots attempt to outpush each other, with Back to Rock's saw desperately trying to nibble the Deer's horns! While Martijn and Martyn duke it out, Infusion is trying to get underneath BIACS-is of Evolution! Unfortunately for Aaron, BIACS-is' unusual shape is making this more difficult than it should be! Infusion bullies BIACS-is up the arena and is just about to push it over the Flame Grill when BIACS-is' four huge lifting arms are finally brought to life! Slowly the arms unfold to reveal the real machine - that compact cross with the deadly disc! Infusion takes a chance and meets the blade head-first!
CRRRASH!
Infusion is spin away, but the Hardox wedge takes the blow easily! BIACS-is bounces into the northern wall, the disc grinding to a halt! Matt decides to go on the defence again and begins lowering its arms, but Infusion proves too fast as it slams BIACS-is into the wall again and almost gets engulfed by the giant skirts! Oi, let's keep this clean now, lads!
Meanwhile, Back to Rock and the Deer have been going at it tooth and nail! Back to Rock finally managed to wriggle free of the Deer's grip and was able to clip its sides a few times with the circular saw, but aside from that, it's been a tentative battle for these two! His eyes still on BIACS-is, Martyn fakes out his Dutch opponent and narrowly avoids an assault from Back to Rock! The Deer charges up the ring and crashes into BIACS-is, trying to grab one of the massive arms! In the confusion, Infusion slips away and swerves around into the Void Activation Button! BIACS-is tries to lift the Deer up off the ground, but is having a difficult time doing so! I'd say it's to do with weights or balance, but in a melee like this, logic and order take a holiday! The Deer slips off the arm and quickly grabs onto BIACS-is' main body! The disc can't do anything now as Martyn easily drags BIACS-is down the arena! Here, Back to Rock leaps to its friend's defence and smacks into the Deer's ribs! Martijn scrapes under its skirts and begins lifting the fellow veteran, its saw nibbling away at its Hardox coat! Another patented 'turbo boost' allows Infusion to join the pile-up, crashing into Back to Rock and the Deer, and knocking them apart! Back to Rock rams Infusion as revenge and attempts to tip it over, but Aaron speeds off in the nick of time! BIACS-is meanwhile is squirming in the Deer's bonds, but Martyn isn't letting go just yet! The massive arms slowly flap up and down as the Deer continues pushing Matt's machine down towards the Void! Are you trying to distract your opponent, Matty, or fly away? Because neither seems to be working at the moment! As BIACS-is' arms begin to rise again, the Deer reaches the Void and dunks its unusual opponent down into the spiralling hole - with the arms still raised on high!
The Deer speeds back to the middle of the ring, where Back to Rock and Infusion are zipping about like dogs let off their leads! Back to Rock attempts to get under Infusion, but the Aussie entrant is proving too nippy for the PTT veteran! The Deer decides to join in the fun, crashing into Back to Rock and trying to grab hold again! Luckily for Martijn, he is able to escape the antlers' grasp and prepares to shunt it right back! Infusion gets in first however as the newcomer meets the Deer head-on and slides right underneath! Before Martyn's machine can back off, Aaron goes full throttle and, rear rim spinning furiously, activates his 'turbo boost'! Infusion shoots down the arena, shoving the Deer into Mr Hyde's open arms! Martyn quickly tries to escape, but doesn't leave without taking a couple of nasty blows from the House Robot's hammer! As the Deer regains its bearings, Back to Rock catches up! Martyn attempts to grab hold of his Dutch rival as the duo butt heads, but Back to Rock backs off and swiftly pushes the fellow veteran sideways towards the western wall! The Deer swings around as Martijn backs up for another charge, pincers at the ready! Back to Rock and the Deer lock horns again and this time, Back to Rock plows right underneath its opponent! The arms is activated and the Deer is toppled up and over...well, not quite. Back to Rock backs away - the Deer appears to have been propped against the wall, antlers pointing towards the sky! Martyn frantically tries to shake his machine free, waggling the claws and spinning his wheels helplessly but to no avail! As Back to Rock and Infusion have antoher go at each other, the Grim Beeper glides across the warzone and begins the inevitable countdown...

Martyn shrugs as he puts down his controller. At least he's having a better time than Matty. BIACS-is is trying to clamber out of the Void with its great arms, while a bored Mr Hyde is trying to beat it back down like an alligator coming out of the toilet! Say what you will about this bizarre bot, but you can never call it dull!

A bright yellow box-wedge with a wide, rear-hinged flipper. The full-pressure arm packs a punch while the bot itself travels at a comfortable 8mph. I do wonder about that plastic armour, though.

As always, our Featherweights are off to a quick start! Innis already has its vicious spinning disc up to speed, but barely has time to pick a target when it is rammed from the side by Skink! Tracy twirls away and strikes Skink with the flywheel! The plastic armour takes a slice, but Mike and Paul are undeterred! Skink shunts Innis a second time, just as Afterschock and DTK hit the scene! The two little flippers are currently engaged in a little spat of their own, with both robots dancing about each other! Finally Afterschock manages to catch DTK with the flipping arm and flicks it over onto its back! Almost instantaneously DTK self-rights, taking another bump from Afterschock for its troubles! Afterschock attempts to flip the RW7 champ again but is distracted by Innis, who strikes its welded HDPE armour! Afterschock is sent spinning before being shunted by Skink! The Roaming Robots champ gives Skink a taste of its own medicine and tries to weasel undernearth! It doesn't have much success however as DTK slides under the blue wedge and tosses it over! Afterschock immediately self-rights, narrowly avoiding another blow from Innis! Still hungry for vengeance Afterschock charges Innis' side and flips the spinner over! Tracy is unfazed, her machine being invertible, and spins around to strike Afterschock! The HDPE shell takes another gash as all four robots come together! Innis is flipped again, this time by Skink, with DTK doing the same to Afterschock! Martijn fires the flipper and the blue wedge self-rights...back onto DTK's front! The dinky Dantomkia scuttles down the arena, Mike Lambert's sight set clearly on The Taxman's CPZ! Will and Martijn struggle to get Afterschock away, but to no avail...
CRRRASH!
The House Robot's flywheel sends Afterschock flying, the blue wedge tumbling onto its back several feet from the CPZ! Martijn tries to self-right, eventually succeeding, but Will noticies a lack of movement as he tries to get Afterschock back in the game! DTK easily trundles around Afterschock, avoiding the bright red arm, and scrapes back under the sides! One flip sees the blue wedge inverted once more! DTK drives back underneath, this time heading straight for Killeidascope Corner! Afterschock self-rights just as they arrive...
CRRRASH!
Sparks fill the air as the technicolour tenderizer flings Afterschock aside! That bright blue armour is now looking very battered indeed as DTK gives the fellow flipper a nudge! Will tries to get Afterschock away, but finds that his machine is barely responding! DTK decides to be merciful and backs away, leaving the Grim Beeper to swoop in and deliver the last rites...
1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!
In the meantime, Innis and Skink have been going at it tooth and nail. Aside from the odd shunt by Innis and the occasionally well-aimed strike of Skink, both machines are pretty much neck-and-neck at this point. This begins to change when Skink suddenly breaks away from the scrap and darts up the arena into the Void Activation Button! The all-too familiar siren echoes across the warzone, opening the pit and defeaning the drivers! Skink returns to the heart of the warzone, almost driving head-on into the approaching Innis! Skink swerves to the side, receiving a gash from the flywheel for its troubles just as DTK returns from slaying Afterschock! Innis swings around, striking DTK as it charges at the spinner! Skink immediately takes advatange of the disorientated Dantomkia-Lite and plows under its high rear ground clearance! DTK falls victim to its own trick as Skink pushes the RW7 champ down the arena towards the Void, closely followed by Innis! Mike and Martyn are doing all they can to get DTK free, wriggling control sticks and firing the flipper! Skink however simply flicks the fellow flipper onto its back! Before DTK can right itself, Skink gives one last push and dumps the RW7 champ into the swirling Void! Innis puts an abrupt halt to any victory celebrations by slicing into Skink's rear! Sent spinning, Skink quickly recovers and catches Innis as it flees, smacking it into the eastern wall! Tracy attempts to break free, but Mike and Paul have other plans! Flipping the spinner over once more, Skink powers underneath Innis and dumps it into the Void with a final flick of the arm! At last Skink is allowed to celebrate as Michael Pliers nudges a lifeless Afterschock onto the Launchpad!

Hydralic setup, aim to get under it, carry it around, aim for the side of the wedge if possible. In the mean time wait for some kind of complicated Aaron retort on why that won't work.
BtR will lift, and saw, and pit, and control Nitro-Gene as well as possible to look good with judges and chicks and dinosaurs. Watch out for his wrath as well as his flipper, and w00t for skirts and an effective srimech. Try to ram his corners (preferably the rear ones) as they seem the most vulnerable to my attacks.
