Feather Weights

Just say your a feather... thats a little over weight. will you be going to chester with it? I want to do a MW but i want to make it purposefully for fighting heavys because i have no way of transporting a heavy about as i go by train or Gainzys punto. will be middle of next year before i can start tho. i want to get my feather fleet finished first. my first event i had 1 feather, second event 2 feathers hopefully ill have 3 for the 3rd. well ill have 4 but one is going there just to get smashed. its an old robot i got from some guy and its realy broken and all crappy now, axles are bent, wheels wobble all over, wheels are poorly welded on i think if it even makes it into the arena it would take 1 hit from Anxious or a similar sized robot and fall to pieces. in the new year i hope to have 4 feathers that i will stick with. then ill join the MW Crew later in the year.

not a good pic- theres a LQ one on my profile of it so far- ill get some decent pictures when its finished

looking good, I think im falling in love with a robot.:p ohh and my little anxious looks kinda like a 2 wheeled scaled down version of maxus now. had to add supporting bars to the sides as it was getting bent and touching the wheels.
my new one will be out at chester.

got a pic? Build a middle Tom :) theres a few out there now.. grants told me they might run middleweights on the side at robochallenge events.. aslong as no one makes a massive one i spose lol

A middle is on my to do list. I have somthing i have to do in the featherweight class first. Next year ill have middle.

The first post in the thread asks who your favourite featherweights are; Im assuming thats what Alex has listed.

360 and Flow would make a lethal tag team - I look forward to taking them out :)

Where is this tag team thing happening?
If i can make it, who wants to team up with a 3mm aluminium full-body hammer?

The last tag-team event was hosted by Robochallenge last December at Thinktank in Birmingham. There was one initially lined up for this year but then I think Thinktank withdrew their support or something and the event got put on hold.
There will probably be an upcoming tag event soon though - theyre good fun :)

always good events cos the spinners come out to play at robochallenges events

Slightly off the topic, but...3mm ali? You sure thats going to be thick enough for chassis construction considering you intend it to be a rammer?

Well, seeing as its survived the hands of my dad already, should do!
I would get some hardox to put at the front, but we dont have a spec of hardox, and im afraid about the weight.
Its really hard metal, but if needed just get a hammer and bend it back into shape! :rofl:

From what Ive heard Pillow Torque, Invasion et al. have quite a bit more power than the average dad. :proud:
Good luck with it though, hope to be up against you in the arena myself one day.

i got it off some guy for free when i bought a robot about a year ago. im bringing it back from the dead to have 1 last fight. it had a Roaming Robots pit pass stuck to it so it must have been seen before.

Yeah. strange wheels eh? it was just a plastic box with 2 motors in when i got it.no top or back on it. what was storm vortex? cos how the base is smashed up and shredded it looks like a vertical spinner attack. what was it called? cheers tony nice to see what it looked like.

It was one of the first robots in Teamdragon it belonged to a team member who has now left the team.

it will be there for u all to smash up at chester. if its not smashed up by the end of the weekend ill try sneak it into a HW Whiteboard.

Please make sure that you get a video then!

Next year when i sort out a MW bot ill be just having the MW and 1 FW for me and 1 FW for my mate to use and i would have 3 spare feathers doing nothing so might aswell let some die in battle. if they dont die ill just take them to events for other people to have a play. I cant wait for next year.

If we do make a MW, buy a granny scooter off of Ebay and convert that into a pusher.
If we got enough MWs, then we could maybe have a rumble for fun!
