David, i think when he has sorted all the bugs and added all the features he has planned, he will then get the database up to date
I know hes busy sorting the bugs out, I was just making sure he got the pic because not all my e-mails get there :)
there is a special fight section. what will be on this mr stu? special fights like grudge matches. or mabee washing machines getting smashed up.

And David W- god sake man, herd of email? And yes i got it and like John said i been busy. Just got back from 2 days of fun (cough party/drinking) at Alton Towers Resort staying at hotel (And park of course) - 2 mates bday so had a double bday bash. Ill get back on it tomorrow.

I was looking at your rankings on the site and wouldnt an Elo ranking system be better then ranking by winning precentages. Percentages only work when theres a small amount of fights. Here in Austrlia and over in yankeeville we use Elo because it is more accurate. Compare our win percentages to where they are placed on the table.

Elo is not exactly the most transparent rating system in the world, although I admit it is a very fair system of ranking (we use it in our shooting leagues in Holland).
i think the whole ranking system will be done over a set number of competition fights but for now to get it up and running it does the job. it can stay as it is for now with envy at the top :)
Dont worryr Daniel, we already planned for that. Though for now its fine for the next few events, but yes it will be using a different system. Still working on the SQL Database system to tweak how we do it. But for now its fine, but in a few weeks/months or 2 or 3 events time, it will change.
Phase 2 the robot database pictures and info updates went live, the database looks kewl with pictures in it now. Phase 3 will go live Friday night.

Craig Colliass, I dont think Saint is 150cm high, so the stats in the database are probably wrong. Can you tell me how large Saint really is?

i think on the 5th when we get logins i think we may be able to change our stats on our robot so there all correct (i think from what i have seen on this forum) i might be wrong and if i am im sure mrstu.co.uk will update all the stats when he has time
i think the venom could have been a mistake and missed the 1 off 12mph i have seen a few of these but they will be updated
phase 3 is going to have a very nice feature coming live aswel - im looking forward to it
Leo - thats bound to be my error getting the lenght/width height mixed up. i hate reading from paper. Also alot of roboteers on the paper work didnt read cm and put their sizes down in mm. Was funny seeing some feather weights 500cm.. - err yeah...
And Mike - on Venoms paper work it attualy says 1mph but i put 2mph to be nice to himself for some reason.
If you think there is an error - then email me direct coz its prob not always an error like in your case Mike. Teams have been emailed to check their own stats out as typos do happen and also some roboteers have got their own stats wrong and sending begging emails for info to be changed. haha.
Phase 3 errr yeah... working on it now.
As for the Roboteers login area, still work in progress. Need to chat to Jonno about that when hes finished messing about.

btw, I fully understand that there are bound to be errors in the database, if only because of typos. It was just inconvenient that it was with exactly that robot I wanted the stats from.
Sorry Leo i have only just got the note on the forum, I have been to measure it the height of The Saint it is 200mm the tyre size is 250mm hope that helps, well spotted by the way i didnt see that error:)
venom is about 6mph - peoples stats are quite excadurated :) Ploughbot is fast for a feather and that is 9mph - ill send you ploughbots stats etc after my next event when the upgrades will hopefully have been done

The complete size info for the Saint is 200 high 1000 wide 1500 long hope that clears that up. Sorry never ask a member of Mensa to do any thing difficult!!!

Just a few corrections needed to our entry in the database:-
Team Pillow Torque started in 2004 and not 2005.
We are based in Newhaven (one word).
Geoff should have given you the better pic of Pillow Torque by now - if not then please let me know and I will email it to you I can also probably supply a good pic of PIA instead of the curious one on the website with 3 wheels on one side and only 2 on the other :crazy:.

The Roaming Robots System is now fully active.
It can take new Teams to Sign up to the system. You need to be part of the system to sign up to an upcoming event.
New Teams can now sign up - and new teams and existing teams can now edit and add new robots to their team.
Sorry took so long to be able to allow users to create accounts and only roboteers who were at our last few shows were on the system. Just took a little longer to create secure user accounts. But its all secure using encrypted passwords etc.
Again Teams can now start signing up to future events via the online login. Using their Team Name as their username and their password they have used. If you forget your password, you can use the reset feature which will reset the password and email it to you.
Any problems - email me direct, but all should be fine.
