I would like to go but I know St Hammer would not do too well with only 3mm of armor and a Pickaxe.

Only 7 heavies... Im surprised there arent more, plus how is Diesector a heavyweight?
Atkins diet?
there will be more attending will just be late signing up like warhead is meant to be going
the americans r just all being fussy
I would love to take St Hammer to the US but funds would not stretch to that far.
Is Carmen Electra going to present it again?
john. . . How much does it cost to take a heavy weight?
They now have a robots must have an active weapon rule for Battlebots, so would Saint Hammer qualify under that? Its a bit of a grey area isnt it.
Some idea of costs:
Shipping the robot (maybe out by air, back by sea, we walk it through customs): £500-700.
Hire of an SUV for 10 days: £340
Hotel room: £80 per night - they quite often have two double beds.
Return flight: £450
Is Carmen Electra going to present it again?
After she insulted Ian Lewis and starred in the [banned] movie ever made, Disaster Movie?
I doubt it. :lame:

jonno, beast and ripper to battle bots????? :)
Can anyone say whether robots like Saint Hammer, Stinger et al fall under the active weapon rule?
email Greg at register @ battlebots.com send a photo and im sure will contact you back - hes not slow at emailing back either
with 9 heavys signed up though i cant see them turning you down
Its not my robot John, I just wondered.
i cant believe how few robots are on their.
John many thanks for the cost breakdown; it shows without sponsors this trip is beyond my finances at the moment.
Dave I don€™t know if St Hammer would qualify I think they are more concerned with wheeled boxes crashing into each other, as that would be a bit boring for the viewers to watch. The Saint is a lot of bad things, but it has not to date been described as boring so hopefully it would be ok.
Lj Only 9 Heavies that doesn€™t sound that many to me either perhaps they have €œSilly Politics over the pond too!!€Â
I still think we should lay down a challenge 10 on 10 Ten of their best to ten of ours. With the new arena that Craig has perhaps we could do it.
:)
Saint Hammer certainly isnt boring. But then, I never found all pusbots boring. Maybe Im just too forgiving. lol.
craig, ye just look on the RFL forum, they MOAN more then us! there will be more robots attending there they just havent signed up yet or realised its there best chance of getting the sport on TV again - but ye i priced it all up today for 2 of us and its alot without sponsors but iv got my dad to think about it but got another more important event to think about before battle bots  battlebots should just put 10 grand a side to take over 5 of our bots but without a TV deal set they prob havent got that much :/
push bots r boring for the TV thats why there not allowing them but it depends you can get them to have weapons which make them abit better kind of like sewer snake and storm
and 10 v 10 vs USA - we would kill them we would just let KO get megabyte though lol
its not going on TV, only the College comp is going on TV
ye but its being filmed so there is a chance of it going on tv - they may even just flog the edited tapes to just make abit more money
more of a chance of going on TV then any other event organiser atm
john, have u ever shipped over a robot? i can get beast shipped for free but dont know how long it would take? and with a more important event coming up times limited and cant see it being a week to get shipped?
When I took Spitfire to the States we stripped it down completely and took it as hold luggage. With 4 team members this is quite easy. The complete chassis was wrapped up and this was counted as a single piece of luggage. Various parts have to be carefully wrapped and or placed in different suit cases but this is by far the easiest and cheapest way to take your bot over the pond.
Mike.
registration closed, dont recognise any of those robots.
Surgeon General was the one that bust up KillerHurtz in 2001.
Bender was at BB in 2002.
Megabyte needs no introduction.
Eugene - nice machine - fought Storm II at RoboGames last year.
Warrior (Spinner/flipper) - another interesting machine from Team Whyachi, has been round for a while.
Diesector is a well known machine from Donald Hutson, used to be a super heavy.
I don't get how Diesector is a heavyweight now...
shows how out of touch i am with battlebots
Any news???
See the BattleBots Twitter page for a couple of pics of the arena coming together.

oh god, Twitter. lol
Thanks for the pics though, John. Looks almost battle-ready. :)
