We almost won both featherweight competitions until the arena stopped us (well done Stu!:wink:)

We will be getting our revenge at colchester though with an improved Aftershock, more reliable Shockwave and hopefully the all new Whirlpool Evo:).

the winners....1 of them being envy. remember mark its the robot that flipped you out of the arena. envy running well now and thor showing its potential. enjoyed this event very much, not cos i won but it was a good atmos and a really good show with some good fights. unlucky to beast. unlucky i stole :) the storm troopers were cool and the darleks actually looked like real darleks. well done roaming robots for a great show. well done kan opener some good driving goin on there. one more thing. big up to my brother kevin who went home with a dropped jaw. he loved it.

Two fantastic shows, and a continuation on what is looking like a fantastic year ahead for Roaming Robots.

Our newest addition to the family, the daleks and Star Wars characters went down a storm... hopefully we will be seeing more of them as they added so much to the intervals when the robots were being loaded.

Time for a couple of weeks off to enjoy fatherhood, before getting ready for colchester where our new house robot will be officially launched, plus a few other things along the way. :)

Do we know what went wrong with big nipper yet, very unusual, it looked like expensive smoke !!

err yea, it got Kan-Opened!

Mark was saying that one of the mosfets blew along with a capasitor that evaporated.

Sounds painful :proud:. Ive seen the best bits - I think its AWESOME!

All over Big Nips, so you should be after we lost steering 20 seconds into the fight.

Personally I think that The Saint should have won :) since Kan-Opener went for a disabled robot for the whole fight :)

After watching Tonys vid its clear we lost drive to one side after being slammed againsts the arena sidewall by KO and was unable to steer. It just got worst from there.

Not looked at the damage yet, other that at the event but looks simple enough to fix. Just replace the FET board for that motor, clean up the black stuff and with a bit of luck nothing else will be damaged, wiring looks intacked but will know more when we look at it this weekend.

Is that all it took for Kan-Opener to take you out?

I think this was a class event in terms of the fights, some really good ones, and the new format is working nice with a mixture of fun and competition fights!!!

I know I was nervous before fighting Thor and i missed that with white board fights!!

How was hammer time Jonno? I didnt get to see it again!

it was a LOT of fun.....

The first fight, it was running good. But couldnt hit anything as I kept missing.

The second fight i tried only using 2 batteries, and the hammer was lame!!

But looking forward to playing wih it at colchester.

Hi All,

If you would like to look at my profile you will see all the damage caused and what caused the damage. It would appear we lost a segment out of the motor armature which it looks like may have stalled the motor, smashed all the bushes causing the speed controller to set on fire. So sorry Tom Im afraid you cant class this as one of your kills. If anybody out there has a spare armature for a MAG S28 400 please let us know.

thats just unlucky glyn. supposed to be well made them mags. mind you big nipper has had many fights.

Actually Shane that motor has only been in Nipper about two years. It was used for the weapon in chip before we bought so I dont know how old the motor is I just know it was well used before we bought it.

Cheers Geoff, Graeme has already contacted them and they say they cannot get an armature for 6 weeks plus delivery time to the UK. I wish it was just the Speed controller now :sad:

from memory, the replacement armature isnt all that cheap i seem to remember its almost as expenisve as a new motor, only mag parts i have left are the bursh housing

btw is that a Robots R Us controller?

Armature and brushes are less than half the cost of a new motor, it also recked the brush housing but have one from little spinner that will do the job. Yes its a Robots R Us controller, first one weve actually blown up in the robot.

are you running the mags on 24v? maybe the Robots R Us controller is ok on the lower voltages, mine didnt last 30secs on 48v
