Im having to reluctantly pull Stingray from the raptors, Ive not enough time and havent willingness to rush this build after a couple of late deliveries. Shame as I was looking forward to battling some of the other 6kg machines - will finish the build sometime soon though for future competitions.
Vertigo is nearing completion though with plenty of anti spinner wood :) see you all tomorrow, and lets hope for some half decent weather!!

Ed - no need to buy a ticket, ill make sure they dont make you pay lol. Last show on saturday is 7.00pm-8.45pm
Little Hitter will be there, managed to get it sort of moving but dont know for how long, regen braking works on both wheels, but not on both at the same time and when the transmitter turns on it calibrates for about 5 seconds then stops the wheels :).

Absolutely smashing event, regardless of the beating Kaizer, and to a lesser extent, Drumroll took. Now know what to improve on when rebuilding the bots.
As for the event, being completely honest, cant think of anything to improve on. Top notch event!
Was saying to Gary on the way home; even though the actual showtimes didnt always match the advertised times, as can only be expected from busy events like this, the shows themselves never fell behind. The organisation was so well thought out and superbly executed that there were very few delays (struggling to think of more than two!)
So I think a very big WELL DONE has to go to James and Grant Cooper and the rest of the Robochallenge crew for ensuring an entertaining and flowing event.
Congratulations to Beauty for claiming 1st place in the feathers!
And to Push n Shove for coming so close and taking home 2nd place!
Not forgetting the raptors which have effectively put Kaizer out of commission :lol:
Well done to Prolodju on winning the Raptor championship and to Nebel Werfer for claiming 2nd place!

Well, we arrived back in Belgium and Holland safe and sound.
Congratulations to Beaty and Prolodju on their championship.
Nebelwerfer will need a lot of work to get it back in order again, the impact of Prolodju was a lot more then I initially thought. The electronics are still ok so basicly all repairs and possible improvements are all mechanical and solvable.
I will defintly be there again in future events!

Great, and really safe event. Thanks to all event organizers and competitors! Id like to see more raptors next year to get a bit more fights with them. I didnt get that much damage on Pro-lodju, only the lower bearing needs changing, some bearing housing upgrades to prevent bearings coming out and sharpening the blade. I will be also making it faster to drive, now it was way too slow to get the best hits. :) We will fly back to Finland today and i really hope that airport safety checks will go ok, as they might be interested of robots and lipo batteries...

Great event, well organised barring a few minor details. Good atmosphere and good robots. Congratulations to the winners of the -sometimes quite spectacular- fights. Most of my pictures are on Leos laptop and I dont know when Ill get them but well put them online as soon as possible.
Thanks to John Lear for setting up his Palace of Knossos we could sleep in. He put it up in the pouring rain, bless him.

Big thanks to the Robo-challenge crew, it was a great event, ran as slick as any ive seen and in the superb arena.
Congrats to the winners Beauty and Prolodju.
Id not seen many feather/rapter competitions previously and was really impressed by the quality of battles over the weekend.
I would also like to say that I was very impressed with the perfomance of the robots from Finland. Purse, the feather is a very good flipper and well built. Prolodju is awesome. Viilake and Hyperion looked great too.

Theyre some pretty damn good pics of Nebelwerfer against Kiazer, captures all the good hits - although I didnt realise the battle lasted that long to get that many pictures. It seemed to be over pretty quickly :)

Yeah was quite an amazing fight Jamie, amazing that you were able to fight again. I like DB5 with a full pressure system on, shame it would be over weight.
Great event, exceptionally run. Thank you to everyone that made it a success. Im sure next time Robo Challenge put on such an event even more improvements will be seen and I certainly look forward to it. Congrats to all the winners and runners up for their well deserved places.
great event, we really enjoyed it, got some awesome fights on video through those nice clear polycarb arena walls, unfortunatly i havent got a digi cam yet only an old cassette camcorder that ive had for years. thanks robochallenge a well run event.
I was quite fortunate in the sense that Nebelwerfer smashed the two drill motors/gearboxes that were idle rather than the two that were driving the machine so thankfully it was just a case of swapping out the duffed motors and bending it all back into shape. But its now beyond repair after its last fight with Prolodju so time for a rebuild from scratch :)
And I agree - DB5 does look pretty cool with a full pressure system :)

I would Like to say a massive thank you to all who helped take the arena down after the event, also to the large amount of unrecongnised crew who busted a gut to put this championship on for you.

Congratulations to beauty who is now the European Champion after a fantastic performance through out the whole weekend. look after the trophy, it took me ages to make!:)
Also to Prolodju which looked brilliant every battle, congratulations on being the European 6kg Champion!
Other mentions must go to Push & Shove for there fantastic driving, certainly desevered to be in the final! Little Spinner who put on an amazing performance for the trophy and in my oppinion was the best i have seen it compete & certainly desevers a big title. Nebelwarfer whos destructive weapon and good driver meant it only lost one battle, unfortunatly it was the most important fight!
We hope you all had a great time, it will certainly be a memorable event for us. Thank you all your support and for the nice comments about our Arena and Event, they are all much appriciated thanks.

Fantastic event! We have good time in there and I thik that we come to next year. Thanks for comments of our robots! I was my self very surprised how well Purse and other finnis robots work.

JH-Q its ok, nothing expensive got damaged :)
Its more just a case of since the 2mm aluminium chequerplate chassis has been bent and unbent several times its now just no longer strong enough for robot competition, therefore Im going to rebuild it to cope with nasty evil powerful spinners :)

That mistake is made by loads of people first time they enter Raptor competitions. Then they meet robots like Conflict, Whopper, Basilard, Medusa, Nebelwerfer, and now the Finnish ones as wel. You learn quickly then that 6kg robots can pack a punch. :)
