Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Alex M, until you prove to be infallible, I suggest you calm down when people make mistakes. I cant see how the mistakes Alex made affected the fight, so I ask again, what damage was done? Hes already apologised so let it go.
And Alex H already said how he copies stats. Word document + floppy disk. Its not hard to figure out.

Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Now what did I do... :uhoh:
And please inform me where I made a non-enlightening comment with obligatory reference to ARC. I cant seem to find one in this thread, or is it just me? And since when did I have so-called hate crimes against Americans? And for the record, why are you defending Americans so much... or is that a rhetorical question? :)
Calm down and re-read what I said. I think youll find my intentions were stop getting in a rage about everything that you are involved in on here or simply get lost. And I think the part about the insults is self explanitory. But just in case, it means think about what you are calling people. Especially those that know a damn lot more than you do, have a lot more experience and have put a lot more into vapourboteering over the years.
Fire your caps lock at me all you like cause I wont back down. Get it out your head Im a crazed racist and get a grip!
That is all for now...

Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
You only ever state the word blade throughout the stats - I always will take that to mean the first thing that comes into my head, if it said bar I would have got that, however it didnt. Without the picture, which Ive already apologized for, I am justified here.
Finally, please stop acting as if Im doing this to spite you alone, THREE people in this heat of four did not have stats which answered all my questions, and you did not suffer as a result compared to a certain other person. This included Richard, who is one of the most respectable people on here.
Anyways I am intending to continue this tournament without hastle.

Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Alex M, Anthony and AJ have said this to me so its about time I say this but my own way of saying it which is not shape up or ship out but stop moaning or youll get kicked out of the bloody threads.
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
How exactly are you going to do that Tim? And before a real arguement breaks out, Tony isnt involved in this at all - so dont start winding him up.
I hardly think we are going to be kicked out of threads (which I beleive is impossible anyway). Especially since you havent been kicked out of any yet with your numerous spamming intentions.
Alex clearly stated that if detail wasnt there he would assume it. He missed the picture of Alex MacWs bot but appologised and got the idea right anyway. Whatever shape the wheel pods are, it lost the match and that is that. Now shall we carry on with this tournament? :)
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Sorry I was just annoyed about his moaning.
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Sorry, but still. If you had insufficient stats, you could have said that and asked for more specific onces before you penalized me for it.
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Stop moaning, its not like it will affect you in real life, or you have to pay to enter.
Let it go and move on, like someone once said, the answer is in the looking glass.
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Well, my computer breaks down for almost a week, and when I come back this is what happens.
Ah...can you feel the love buzz?
Dave, leave Alex alone. Hes apologized about it, and that should be enough for you.
End of story. Now, can we all play nice and just let the other Alex right?
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
One last thing.
Stop coming back to FRA, its not like it anyone cares about the 500 times youve left, or the 500 times youve come back..
If you say you leave, leave. Like someone once said, dont overstay your welcome.
Nice to know Dave can still give people his awesome opinions.
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
I never offically said i am leaving :lame:.
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Oh please. Do you remember anything? At the end of Spanish Inqusition and The Random Thread you said you were leaving. Stop avoiding the truth and just face it.
What will it be? Will you stay or will you go?
I am fine with either option. Just make up your mind and stop flip-flopping like Kerry.
Alex, may I ask in advance if there is anything wrong with Walk Idiot Walk?
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
When are the ROBOTIC fights starting Alex? Oh yeah the other Alex you dont see me moaning because of the stats change do you.:new::-)
-
Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Bloody hell, are you blind? Theyve started already! Just wait and get off of Alexs back, it hasnt even been a week yet!

Acid Burn vs Flank Attack 2
Acid Burn; no way those massive claws are going to survive blows from Aarons bot. :proud:

Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
I think Im able to survive some hits; while it may not be as powerful, I was able to survive and beat Tengu. So, that should count for something.
Im gonna try to box rush it before it can do anything. It has an 8mph top speed, so it shouldnt be very hard; he isnt really going anywhere. After that, just clamp and pit my friends, clamp and pit.

Flipping Hell (4) vs. Panicking
Acid Burn vs. Flank Attack 2
Flipping Hell vs. Panicking
3€¦2€¦1€¦Activate
Both machines, with their brisk top speed, get off to a quick start, however, Panicking, as the slightly quicker gains the advantage and dives around the side, plunging the sharp forks into the arena floor beneath the aluminium avenger that is Flipping hell. The forks raise and the wheels of flipping hell are raised from the ground allowing Panicking to dash forward, slamming the unfortunate fourth seeds into the invulnerable tungsten walls. The sparks flow outwards, however, the heavy impact knocks Flipping Hell free from the grasp of its opponent, and a sharp veer to the left brings the dread flipper sliding beneath the hinged skirt of the other machine.
Immediately the weapon fires and no doubt Martyn is currently living up to his robots name as he watches his machine glide serenely through the air and impact, not quite so serenely, into the thick tungsten walls about 10 foot up, then fall to the ground for another nasty blow. Panicking sets off again, however, this time it is noticeably more sluggish in its movements, a motor would seem to be damaged by that heavy inpact, and to be honest, after such a nasty attack, its surprising that it€™s not more damaged than it is.
However, in some ways that one blow was enough, as now, lacking the manoeuvrability it had before Panicking is easy prey to a second attack by Flipping hell: this time however it positions itself between Panicking and the pit. Now, in a single smooth motion, it drivers forward, plunges its wedge beneath the skirts once again, and then launches Panicking.
Panicking glides through the air once more, slowly twisting as it moves inexorably onward, over the pit, until it enters the gloom on the far side of it, and thus its true fate remains unknown, as the few that speculate of an area beyond the pit tend to believe it to be an area outside the arena and thus doesn€™t count.
Panicking falls to its doom (probably€¦)
Flipping Hell advances to the Heat Final!
3€¦..2€¦..1€¦.Activate
Acid Burn begins to whir, its vast, devastating shell blurring in a seemingly unstoppable arc, menacing in the extreme. Flank attack charges, jaws wide, ready to engulf its acidic adversary. However, the maw of Flank Attack is not broad enough, and instead as the jaws close around Aaron€™s machine, it tears. There may have been some confidence there from beating tengu elsewhere, but the power acid burn possesses dwarfs tengu€™s to the extent that it is irrelevant. The panels themselves are too tough to be damaged, however, the sheer force tears them free, ripping the bolts and screw that hold it in place from the chassis, leaving open hole in the claws - in this instance the rubber proving bad in that it let the teeth get more purchase upon the claws. Acid burn doesn€™t relent, the uses the sheer force of its power to tear apart its foe, devastating the chassis. Flank Attack is literally shredded, the clatter of metal hitting the ground echoes throughout the arena, and smoke begins to billow menacingly forth from the carcass of Flank Attack.
Acid Burns sears its opponent and Advances through to Heat final!

Vapourbot Grand Championships 2006
Well I already discussed this with Kody, but basically as there isn€™t a great deal of point in writing out an entire tournament that€™s 2 years out of date I€™m going to do something a little different. I don€™t want to just do straight dull hypotheticals, so I€™m basically going to write a short several line fight summary of most of the remaining fights and conclude the last few fully.
So First on the Agenda:
Flipping Hell vs Acid Burn
The fight starts tentatively as both robots are particularly vulnerable to the super-charged weapon of the other. However, the 360 degree attack of Acid Burn proves the deciding factor and its first hit against Dave€™s machine rips off a whole vast panel off the left hand side with its first hit as well as shredding the chassis beneath. Flipping Hell survives a few more hits before being judged to be immobile and thus out of the competition.
Acid Burn advances to the semi-finals
Semi-finallists:
Tempest Evil-er-oution (1)
Infusion
Metal Sonic Spin Dash (3)
Acid Burn

Heat E.
Stratos Fear (5) vs. Hell Machine
Hell Machine dominates much of the match by out pushing the less manoeuvrable axle bot, however, the axe weapon does minimal damage to the seed and in a late game turn of events Scott€™s machine catches under its opponent and launches it near the edge of the pit edge of the arena, which, disoriented by the flip, Dave accidentally reverses into sending him out the competition.
Stratos Fear advances to the Heat Final.
Back to Rock 2 vs. I.D.S.F.A
The saw on Back to Rock proves to be ineffectual early on against the titanium, producing only a few minor cosmetic scratches. In contrast the rear disc on I.D.S.F.A puts several more noticeable dents in its opponent. Despite its saw being bent out of shape half way through the fight due to a clash with the disc it is the scooped front of Back to Rock that allows it more control, eventually allowing it to pit I.D.S.F.A.
Back to Rock 2 advances to the Heat Final:
Back to Rock 2 vs Stratos Fear
The far larger weapon size of Stratos Fear proves its undoing, allowing Back to Rock 2 to consistently outmanoeuvre its opponent slamming it against the wall, while the few attempts to fire the weapon that Scott€™s machine does make at most only glance off the sides. Eventually Martijn manages to angle his run in such a way to push Stratos Fear into the pit. Back to Rock follows it down but it still advances to the semis.
Semi-finallists:
Tempest Evil-er-oution (1)
Infusion
Metal Sonic Spin Dash (3)
Acid Burn

Wedga Revo 2.0 (6) vs. Hus
Wedga takes under twenty seconds to finish the vast €˜Hus€™ - easily getting round the side of the huge robot, who, lacking a srimech is unable to recover from the first flip.
Wedga Revo 2.0 advances to the Heat Final
Axe to Fall vs. Walk Idiot Walk
The far faster Axe to Fall reaches its foe before it up to speed, although still knocked back on most fronts, however the axe does absolutely nothing to the 1.2cm of hardox covering the walker. However, despite facing a seemingly unstoppable juggernaut Axe to Fall eventually emerges victorious despite sustaining massive damage after the walker K.Os itself after accidentally hitting one of the arena€™s indestructible metre of tungsten walls.
Axe to Fall advances to the heat final.
Axe to Fall vs. Wedga Revo 2.0
A high centre of gravity in Martijn€™s axe bot prove the fatal flaw as Wedga dominates much of the fight as the scoop easily gets beneath its foe on numerous occasions, sending the robot flying. Despite this there are a fair number of heavy dents in the top to testament Axe to Falls attacks, even a few full punctures where the blade struck the same place repetitively. However, eventually Wedga manages to get under its foe and pit it.
Wedga Revo 2.0 Advances to the Semi-finals
Semi-finallists:
Tempest Evil-er-oution (1)
Infusion
Metal Sonic Spin Dash (3)
Acid Burn
Back to Rock 2
Wedga Revo 2.0 (6)

Heat G.
Killotine: EVO (7) vs. BIACS-LE
Killotine easily dominates the fighting, BIACS-LE€™s huge clearance making it easy pickings for the front wedge allowing it to be slammed around the arena. Meanwhile the axe of Killotine easily decimates the fibre-glass coating over its opponents. The large disc of BIACs does get a few glancing blows in however it only does cosmetic damage each time. Eventually however BIACS loses manoeuvrability after Killotine€™s axes breaks through the titanium mesh beneath the fibreglass and punctures the batteries.
Killotine: EVO advances to the heat final.
Mega Masher 2 vs. Pure Evil: Return of the Disc
The powerful spinning weapon of Pure Evil easily shears through the 3mm steel of Mega Masher, the first hit buckling the chassis itself and the three subsequent hits end the fight, mega masher finding itself unable to attack its opponent properly without damage.
Pure Evil: Return of the Disc vs Killotine: EVO
The fight is one of the closest thus far, Killotine proving by far the more aggressive for most of the fight, ramming and axing its opponent with great tenacity. However eventually the thicker armour of Pure Evil and more powerful weapon lead to Killotine, despite its attacking, to be immobilised to after shocks to the internals.
Semi-finallists:
Tempest Evil-er-oution (1)
Infusion
Metal Sonic Spin Dash (3)
Acid Burn
Back to Rock 2
Wedga Revo 2.0 (6)
Pure Evil: Return of the Disc

Heat H.
Chalkie 3G (8) vs. Manic Monsoon
Chalkie is outclassed when it comes to manoeuvrability and pushing power and for much of the fight is merely slammed around the arena, the few hits of it€™s axe weapon it does get in prove ineffectual against the hardox. It is eventually unceremoniously pitted.
B2B vs. Catus Catus 8.1
B2B easily outmanoeuvres its feline foe, who finds it difficult to get its direction weapons into play. Mid way through the fight Catus does manage to get a hold of B2B in its jaws, however, it proves short lived as the grip is released when it doesn€™t achieve much and B2B makes its escape and shortly after the feline is pitted.
Manic Monsoon vs B2B
Manic Monsoon dominates much of the fight due to its stronger pushing power, however, a misjudged charge almost ends up with Monsoon in the pit later on. However, it narrowly recovers and after being flipped a few times and eventually succeeds in pitting B2B.
Semi-finals:
Tempest Evil-er-oution (1) vs. Pure Evil: Return of the Disc
Infusion vs. Manic Monsoon
Metal Sonic Spin Dash (3) vs. Back to Rock 2
Acid Burn vs. Wedga Revo 2.0 (6)
