HAHAHA loving it.... come on then whos in the next one ? ?
Did any of you guys get paid for doing this? :)
Wow, what a fantastic programme, loving the twist about the losers only having a toolbox.
1 question to the Smiths: Why didnt you just use Grim Reaper and flip it out of the garden? :lame:
i liked the bit where the hockeys said they would use gravity , ah if only, can you imagine gravity relocating the shed
Great episode, looking forward to the ukrobotics ep even more now :)
James
From the trailer, it looked like next weeks show is the Buxton one. Teams were the Twissells (Frog and H) and the Fletts (Dawn and Mark). Im particularly fond of the machines in that show - a very distinct air of whimsy about them. Though again, it was chucking it down on the showdown day, harrumph.
Me like the look of the fruit flinger one :D
Never mind getting paid - I would love the kind of house that, when you pull away an appliance from the wall, it leaves absolutely no mess behind and the wall is spotless :)
Heh. Good spot, Karoline, I honestly hadnt noticed that. Though, curiously, theres nothing faked there!
Mind you - any team capable of doing the show really should have realised that their washing machine was the most powerful motor around, and hence should have planned for that to come out. One suspects a fair few swaps happened in the days before the crew rolled up, and I wouldnt blame anybody for that. Indeed, washing machine disembowelling sequences were second only to angle-grinding sparks as most common camera shot. :)
Something like 1.5 million viewers, incidentally. Which is right in that grey area between sinks without trace and recommission at once. Down from the two million watching Top Gear, but matching Bremner, Bird and Fortune on C4. Fingers crossed that it grows.
Also you must remember that a new Frost was on the same time on ITV1...
...The first in about 2 years and last for another few months.
I decided to miss frost to watch Mechanibals and i enjoyed it... it was great :) even my friend watched some
Well Ive had a few days for the show to sink in and I must say I thought it was OK... just OK.
The show seemed a little rushed but at the same time it didnt feel like there was a hugh amount behind each part to make the show longer.
The show just never seemed to really start properly and came across a little weak to start with.
The principle of the show is great and I think the content was there to make it what it should have been... post-production has let it down (imho).
I did feel that the drama of the situations came across well.
I also felt that the machines in this show were a little un-eventful. Both went through some pretty involved ideas, of course the show never really developed these to give the viewer the insight that the teams would have had... Whos idea was the vacuum clutch :)
An hour slot would do it far more justice, the ability to delve just that little bit deeper into whats going on, it was a little too glancing
James
Maybe 50 mins like the slot for Horizon to get into a little more detail of the building and a little less into the fact that they were using bits from the house - we knew that already as it was explained at the beginning and it is the whole point of the show.
BTW I will be checking the make of everyones washing machine and what colour their bog and seat is
imho they should have used the same method as with the scrapheap challenge. interview, watch the build, take some time to explain the idea. it would help.
i think an hour slot would be better too :)
A few details on http://www.buxtontoday.co.uk/ViewArt...D=1208088>this
Oi Jonathan, if we cant spill the beans nor can you. Ever heard of a NDA? Cor, you TV types.
Mike.
BTW, come to an event one day. You would like it. And if your a really really good boy I will even let you drive Dantomkia.
Youll note, Mike, that I very carefully revealed nothing that wasnt already in the article. Well, apart from Worzel. :)
And... drive Dantomkia? Really? Me? You crazy fool, have you any idea how useless I am with R/C gear?!
so whos on next? I dont like having to wait to find out.... This weeks was better than last weeks in my opinion but still needs to be longer
Now I wonder where the Co2 spud gun and and the gas cooled beer chiller came from? LMAO. Excellent show.
Mike.
Jonathan, you couldnt be any worse at driving Dantomkia than Mike :)
According to my Sky+ info next weeks show is 2 families from Wales making contraptions to cook and serve a hot dinner.
Why? I thought thats what men were for :proud:
WOW Karoline you know a man who can cook? :proud: Pass him my email address and tell him to get in touch :)
No I dont - thats why Ive been living down the chippie for the past year :proud:
LOL tssss men... any men who can cook?
Yes I know some, Jamie Oliver, the bloke who does the Fairy Liquid ads who can never keep his big mouth shut, and that annoying, angry red bearded twit (deliberate spelling mistake) whatisname Anthony Worrall Thing
Im gonna stay put in the chippie :)
oi less of the red bearded please some of use cant help having abnormal coloured hair :)
at least youve go it to complain about!
Mike.
My cooking is better than my welding. But thats not saying much, sadly.
It doesnt matter if a man cooks it or welds it still tastes the same :lame:
The only thing i know men to cook is beans on toast... eggs at a push
oi! I can cook water i can
Mike.
You dont cook it fool, you only need to heat it up! Tsk!
Hey Jonathan, ever thought about a roboteer based cookery programme? Kinda like Brainiac but with bigger and better explosions :)
how on earth do you cook water ???
Have you ever tried Mikes boiled water pot roast with steam and drips?
lol no ... tasty is it?
Maybe we girls could start a cookery thread. There was one on the original RW forum. I know I posted quite a few recipes.:) I think I still have them somewhere.
ok ill start one on there general chatter for you lol
I dont know about Mikes meals, but his breakfast was very welcome and tasted great.
