The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
2 x Eteks, weigh a total of 18.9kg, and produce around 30BHp. They run at 48V, having been powered by 3x 24V TMC batteries, weighing a total of 7.5kg
You cant run packs in both series and parallel. Youd need 6, btw, for the two Eteks and the two NPC-1200s.
Plus, since when did the Eteks weigh 8.91kg?!?

When Matt wanted them to:proud:

-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
*9.4kg is still an underestimate. Plus, where are your mounts for any of these? Etek mountsd be 3kg each to sustain them in a vehicle like that!
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Name: Jaws of Hell
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions (LWH): 130 x 100 x 25 cm
Body shape: Tornado shaped, but with 6 wheels
Weapons: a hydraulic tearer. The idea is that the large blade that is edged on both sides punctures the armour of an opponent, and a 3000psi hydraulic ram separates them, causing a huge tear in the armour. The edge is carbon tipped, so Titanium is not even there as far as Im concerned.
Power: a pair of LEM 130s on 36v running through a Storm 2 transmission (with 6 vulcalon wheels, with small screws in them for that little extra)
Armour: 4mm Hardox and 2mm stainless steel
Srimech: invertible
Speed: 27mph
Strengths: vicious weapon
Weakness: Unique weapon, may be mis-understood
and for my realie, Ill have Hells Teeth

Haka and Hector.
Winner: ME! :proud:

Winner: Um, dont know.
Heat 10
Ram-Rod (19) vs. Cyclone Force 2 vs. Mute
As Mute, I shall flip Ram-Rod around a few times, and then attack Cyclone Force 2. Hopefully Ill get enough points to win over a judges decision.

The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Wooooo if people reject team ups
The Deer (29)(me) vs. Kick in the Teeth vs. Darth Dread
Woooo for hardox, i will grab either robot form the sides and rear, if i cant crush them i will just grip onto them and push them around and into the pit, but rember kody pneumatics dont last for ever, and if your axe is really that powerful have fun trying to get it out of the floor
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
I am so sure about that Kody. The only way Splitz will be able to do any kind of real damage is if the spinners weigh a dangerous amount of each machines 25 Kg allowance. Also considering each part will need to be small, she hasnt got enough surface area to get up a decent amount of KE.
Another thing I really dont get is your fixation that axes can smash hardox to pieces. Terrorhurtz can barely dent the stuff, and even Supernova couldnt do more than scratch it, so axes have no chance. Even if they are nitrogen powered.
By the way, some bad news for Dave W. Dan got to that idea first with The Deflesher:)
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Frank, how the HELL does a heavyweight beat four Ziggos?!
And Martyn, I have a flat hammer, so the only way I could get it caught in the floor is if the floor is weak. And, yes, I know, pneumatics are only temporary, but then this is a fic tourney :).
New tactics: Ram straight at the Deer and allow it to grab me at the front, then hammer it until something from the Deer falls out. Hardox doesnt prevent vibrations.

The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
quote:
pneumatics are only temporary, but then this is a fic tourney yes but they ae made to be as realistic as possible, so if the fight last long enough you will run ouy
Also your 4 ziggos are likely to damage them selves if they hit a hardox heavyweight they are lightly to shock them selves
If you ram at my front I wont grab you because i wont want to risk damage, i will also avoid the weapon on the other robot aswell.
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
MY four Ziggos? Youve got the wrong roboteer, Martyn! :proud:
And besides, Ill only activate the hammer when I KNOW Ill hit you. Also if you try to avoid my charge youll lose judge points for aggression.. For another fact, Darth Dread has excellent pushing power, but (reading from your stats) The Deer is just a bit more powerful than Darth Dread, so youll have a plus side there. Meh...never mind.
All right, no more arguments. Ive said enough, let the robots do the talking.

The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Frank, how the HELL does a heavyweight beat four Ziggos?!
Without too much dificulty. Ziggo is designed to slice and dice 25 Kg robots. If youre not doing much damage it doesnt matter if you have four or fourty Ziggos.
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Robin: Attack Wedginator first . Lift it OOTA. Then the same for GigaByte.
Starfire: Try and lift Lunch Box up, and shred its tires, maybe lift it OOTA. Watch for Bio.
Raven: Beware of Son of Ripper, and rip Glasgow Kiss tires and axe off. That axe wont be able to do much damage to my tires.
Beast Boy: Scottishly Fictional wont be able to push me properly thanks to my rounded bludgeons! :proud: All the same Ill attack Tsunami, because I wont able to attack Scott properly.
Cyborg: If Axe-O-Lotl even THINKS if axing me, Ill just drag him around the arena since I have the better power. Watch out for Wedge D.
Tazbot: Get the arm under Haka and lift him onto his back. Then push him against the wall and hold him there.
Cant wait, Dave. :)
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
I like the way some people assume things like their robot is unbeatable, Power is nothing without good tyres, overwise you will spin the wheels on the smooth-ish steel floor.
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Um, Dave, ANYTHING on steel floor isnt going to give you much traction. Its pretty hard to grip a non-grip surface.
Good point though.

Use the Ming 2 style front to slip underneath the back of DTK, slamming him into the fence and hopefully breaking summat in the process.

HEAT 1 / 2
ROUND 1
1) Bulldog Breed (3) VS She Loves You VS WHIRLIGIG 4.0
Rev up. Kill whoevers nearest. Moving on... :proud:
2) Dantomkia (30) VS Tanto 3 VS Twist of Fate
Ill take Twist of Fate to be sent tunnelling out of the contest :proud:
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Bulldog Breeds Tactics:
Go for She Loves You, the low wedge of Bulldog Breed should easily be able to get underneath She Loves You. Team up with Whirligig 4.0, so Steves machine can do some serious damage to She Loves You before I flip it out of the arena or down the pit. I shouldnt have much problem with these plans. :)
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Whats Tanto 3 like then?

Ill take Twist of Fate to be sent tunnelling out of the contest:proud:

If so, do you have any pictures of stats.
Clovers tactics
Gamma Trident: Attack GeForce.
Splitz: Take out PRPs wheels.
Kick in the Teeth: Get under The Deers side and chew up its tires.
Balderdash: Flip Firestorm over and over again.
She Loves You: Take out Bulldog Breed, the axe should penetrate the armor.
13 Black: Go for Crashing Bore, coz if I go after ArchAngel then Ill be
ripped to pieces.
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Yeah, it is the Hells Teeth from RWE2. Type in Hells Teeth (robot) into Google and youll get a pic near the top

The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
IIRC, it was triangular, red and had quite a powerufl disc. Edgehog beat it up quite convincingly though.

The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Hello, Hello, Hello, and welcome to another season of Fight against robots, this time it is called NSTT, so what is there stopping us from beginning the war.
The last war saw Clawdius Decimus Murderous come though the champion, beating Son of Ripper in the final; will Steve be the first to hold onto the cup?
HEAT A
Coming in for the first heat this year are 6 robots, hoping to claim the first place in the semi-finals, but which of the famous 6 will it be?
Melee 1
Bulldog Breed (3) vs. She Loves You vs. Whirligig 4.0
From England, and the third seed, Bulldog Breed. This time, entered by Matt M. It has Hardox and titanium armour, with 2 WD and flipper at the front. Bulldog Breed is strong enough and the flipper can introduce others to the arena camera track but will the 2 wheel drive be out pushed by the clones of storm 2 these days?
IN FAR 8: Came 4th, after beating MusterBot the Clusterbot, Terrorducktyl, Ceros-Icarus, Just Plain Simple, and Tsunami 2.
From America (?), She Loves You. Entered by Clover, and named after a Beatles song to swing the Steve vote, She Loves You is a rare walker in these days which isn€™t a spinner. Instead it has an evil looking double ended axe, which moves on it€™s pivot, so someone has been reading Danny€™s designs :). She Loves You looks like to be an Anarchy style walker, so it isn€™t the fastest robot in the arena today, but will the roaming axe be enough for it to survive?
IN FAR 8: Didn€™t enter
From Scotland, Whirligig 4.0. Steve€™s spinner is back, the runner up from the 7th war is back, updated now to take on the latest competition. This time, Steve has gone down the walking route and stuck some shuffling pads on the 4th generation. However, Steve thinks it€™s unfair to have the extra weight, so he has stuck to the 100 kg wheel limit. However the legs on top might get hit by axes or crushers, but who can get close enough with the LEM 130 powered shell?
IN FAR 8: It was 5th seed, but the world was shocked when Just Plain Simple pitted Whirligig 3.0 in round 1.
All three robots are in the arena for the first fight in the new war, as the steel surface looks nice for the first time.

1
ACTIVE!
The first movements of the new war, as Whirligig 4.0 starts to spin it€™s spinner up to speed, as Bulldog Breed is moving for the early kill onto She Loves You, which is moving at full speed towards the middle of the arena, looking good with it€™s axe turning around ready for the kill onto Bulldog Breed. Matt turns the screw and drives into She Loves You€™s front. The axe fires, so does the flipper, as She Loves You is send onto it€™s back, Clover quickly self-rights the beast, but not before Matt can drive into it once more and tries to place the first robot over the fence. The axe turns on it€™s pivot and fires, and hits the front wedge of Bulldog Breed, making a tiny hole. Matt responses and flips She Loves You over, a 360 degree flip, as the walker lands on it€™s legs.
Matt quickly speeds away before Whirligig 4.0, which in this time has been walking towards the party at full speed, spinning around the 100 Kilojoules mark, as Steve doesn€™t want a repeat of last year€™s demise. She Love You turns and tries to get away, but Clover knows that Whirligig 4.0 will get her machine in the end, as the axe turns around to hit into the flat disc. She Loves You is quickly flipped over by Bulldog Breed, straight into Whirligig 4.0€™s killing zone. Steve€™s spinner burps with the food, and gives back She Loves You, now without the axe, as it lands, bent in a number of areas.
Clover€™s walker is stuck on it€™s side, as Whirligig 4.0 walks away, happy with another death. Bulldog Breed can€™t leave the poor walker on it€™s side and pushes it towards the edge of the arena, and before Ref can count out She Loves You, it is over the fence, and sitting on it€™s legs on the tracks.
Cease
She Loves You, flipped and sliced, finally put to rest on the camera
Bulldog Breed (3) and Whirligig 4.0 move onto round 2.
Melee 2
Dantomkia (30) vs. Twist of Fate vs. Tanto 3
From England, and 30th seed, Dantomkia. Entered by Richard this time, the Hardox flipper which holds the title for most OOTA€™s in robot wars returns to hope to stick another robot out of the arena. The high pressure arm has placed the famous Behemoth, Chaos 2, Panic Attack, and Hydro-disc out of the arena to name a few. It has now Hardox to stop spinners. However the rear foot can be damaged in melees if Richard isn€™t careful.
In Far 8 - Got to round 2, after beating Rippoff Again, it met it match in round 2, when it was pitted by Panic 3 Gti.
From England, Twist of Fate. Entered by Frank, the world€™s most famous retired-active vapourbotter. Twist of Fate is a world€™s first, it€™s a full bodied drill. The front end spins around it€™s self as it tries to drill into things, however it is stuck against Hardox and other metals. The idea is that you can€™t be attacked, but Twist of Fate can be flipped over, but it is fully invertible as it rolls with it. However due to the metal floor, if flipped onto it€™s nose it could cause pain.
In Far 8 - Didn€™t enter
From England, Tanto 3. Entered by Matt F, who fancied being behind a powerful beast. Tanto 3 is the most powerful rammer in Europe, has very strong armour and is very, very, controllable with it€™s very fancy speed controllers. This version has some weapons to choice from, but I don€™t know what they are, so we will have to guess. The reliability has been sorted out, as the armour is thick enough to restand a nuclear blast. Weakness, is that there is a large gap between wheel and armour, so an axe could get in their.
In Far 8 - Got into round 2, via the flip of Panic Attack. It almost beat the champion, frost byte, but broke down.
Tanto 3€™s front weapon is the Ming style double wedge which lifts.

1
ACTIVE
Could you ask for a faster start, as the power from Tanto 3 is put down at once via it€™s on board Traction Control, stopping the wheels from spinning, as the machine of Craig D moves off in search of Dantomkia. Frank is looking for Tanto 3, and Dantomkia is looking for Twist of Fate. The first attack goes for Tanto 3, as it slams into Dantomkia€™s front, and the machine of Michael goes straight over the top. Twist of Fate rams into the side wheel guards of Tanto 3, and makes a lovely mess of the protective strips that hold the metal together. Dantomkia gets around the rear of Twist of Fate and flips it over, rolling it back onto it€™s wheels. Tanto 3 turns and drives into Dantomkia€™s side, driving it across the arena.
The arena wall shakes with the impact, as Dantomkia comes away, quickly flipping Tanto 3 over onto it€™s back. The wheel guard protective strip is handing off, looking very drilled. Twist of Fate comes across the arena, but Tanto 3 runs away onto another attack onto Dantomkia, which has opened the pit release. Twist of Fate follows Tanto 3, but can€™t catch up. Dantomkia is slammed into the wall, and a follow-up attack by Tanto 3, sees the flipper into the arena hammer, which comes down with some force, hitting the top of Dantomkia. Twist of Fate comes in, and makes a start on drilling into the rear panel of Tanto 3. Matt turns on the spot, and rams, getting underneath the front end of Twist of Fate, as it is pushed across the arena. Dantomkia starts moving, but all the ramming has had it€™s work on the new machine, but it is still moving.
Tanto 3 turns, out-pushing Twist of Fate, which is making a lovely mess of the wedge, and it ends up 6 feet into the pit, a quick break, sends it down head-first, the drill hitting the wooden floor of the pit and digs itself down.
Cease
Twist of Fate digs out of the competition
Dantomkia and Tanto 3 move onto round 2.
Round 2 Draw
Dantomkia (30) vs. Whirligig 4.0
Bulldog Breed (3) vs. Tanto 3
Tactics, Predictions, did you like round 1?
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Wooty tourn debute there, Mr Dave! :) Ich heise superfantastisch after those duels :proud:
HEAT A
ROUND 2
1) Dantomkia (30) VS WHIRLIGIG 4.0
Once again, Whirly faces off against DTK. Heres hoping this goes the same way as all our other meetings :proud:
Tactics here remain simple as ever - avoid the flipper, rev up and shock-kill, since I doubt Ill be cleaving through the Hardox shell today
2) Bulldog Breed (3) VS Tanto 3
Could be a good match-up and Ill take the Bulldog to just outlast the shover and flick it over the fence
-
The Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament
Bulldog Breeds Tactics:
Get to the side of Tanto, Ill need to get a quick side attack as its a fast machine, but so am I, I can also get an attack from the back too. Once I get under it, either immediatley get underneath it, and dump it down the pit, or out of the arena. I do have the capability of doing this and should be able to stay away from the front. :)
