Thats alright, Steven.
Now I just need to see if Alex and Tom are going to enter, 6 more robots from Nick and Aaron, and Scotts entries, as well as one more team entering the Football! And you can still enter the Challenge Belt as well.

I dont know which have already been entered so... please choose any six. I dont care. Theyll be entered under my team, but in no other way be affiliated. Theyre just space-fillers.
And Annoying Box Rush will be done soon.
Well, I know Biohazard and SG have already been taken, and I already picked Overkill.
Thanks Nick - sorry if I seemed pushy.
Here are the six Ive chosen:
Voltronic
Tazbot
M.O.E
Nightmare
Vlad the Impaler 2
Battle Rat
As Chris said, Biohazard, Overkill and Surgeon General were already chosen, and I havent seen Crab Meat in action so I dont know how powerful its claw weapon is, (learned its a claw from battlebots.com) so I couldnt write accurately about it.
Here are the other real robots already entered if anyone else wants to know:

& for a bit of fun this last entry, Bender (BB4)
Events, Ill look through
For the following events alongside the knockout competition, Ill enter (if there is available space left)
Football: Little Sister & I need a partner for this. Any takers?
Challenge Belt: Hassocks Hog 2
you need 2 more entries Tom:
Black Chalkie Beard
Part names - Part 1 will be known as Black, part 2 will be known as Beard
Type - 2-way clusterbot, both parts are the same except for the colour and the linking method.
Team Name - Hampshire Hogs in a New Age
Team - Emma is the driver of part 1, Dave is the driver of part 2, and Steve is the weapons on part 1, and John the 4th member is on the weapons on part 2.
Mass - 100.5 kg. Black is 50.0 kg, and Beard is 50.5 kg.
Dimensions - Height - The chassis is 7 Cms high, the wheels are another half CM to each end to make this an 8cm robot. Length - 40 Cms, width - 30 Cms
Wheels - It uses 4, 80mm diameter sure grip breeze wheels, used on skateboards. There are holes in the top and bottom armour of area 0.0112 cm2; this allows the wheels to turn with ease, and to reduce the chance of an axe/crusher or forks getting between the wheel and the chassis. We replace the wheels after every fight, when we are checking the insides for wear and tear. Weight on wheels - 0.91 kg
Batteries - 20 BMC-3 NiMh 900 mAh batteries. Each is at 3.6 volts, so all together it gives 72 volts. However the motors are running at 48 volts, so we have some battery spare for those long fights. Total weight = 2.66 kg.
Current Workings - 6 of the batteries are kept for the weapon and the electrics on board. This leaves 14 batteries with a charge of 3240 C each, giving 45360 C in total. The motors use 35 amps, giving a time of about 7 minutes running time at full power. This leaves a good amount of charge left for about 10 more minutes at a lower power.
Motors - 4 Astro-Flight Cobalt 60 Robot Planetary Motor each running at 48 volts, and each giving a Maximum Continuous Power of 1200 watts, which in total is 4800 watts, in old terms, a pretty cool 6.4 horsepower. Which in my view is enough for a robot like this. These motors have a diameter of ~ 5.3 cm. Total weight ~ 4.1 Kg
Gearing - As well as the motors gearing, we are using a simple 2:1 shaft to reduce the speed of the motor to a good level. Total weight spend on gearing ~ 2 kg
Weapon - The only weapon is a set of front swords, which are 2mm thick at the rear and are a tad under 0.5mm at the tip. These swords are lifted and dropped by the use of 4 rodded linear actuators. The arm itself can change in length for the battle; can be 10 cm to 50 cm. The arm can be lifted and dropped with ease, so it doesnt matter if Black Beard gets flipped. The good thing about this weapon is that, you can€™t flip the robot by them. If a wedge gets underneath and flips the swords, the swords will lift and fire. Total weight on weapon ~ 6.75 kg. The cool thing about these swords is that as they lay flat or at an angle, depending on which way the robot is facing, they can flip full bodied spinners because of the lack of a wedge. The swords can lift 250 kg up to 60 degree. Therefore we can self-flip the robots over.
Armour/Chassis - Hardox 600. 4mm on top and bottom to stop axes and crushers. The sides of the chassis is 15mm. Total weight spend on armour, taking density to be 8000 kgm-3. There is 5 kg of steel bars used to strengthen up the chassis. The front and bottom plates can be removed for ease of repairs. The top and bottom sit into a groove in the robot, so that they can not be ripped away by a well aimed spinner. The chassis is the side armour, so it cant be ripped away when hit by a spinner. The front armour and rear armour are 20mm Hardox 600. Total weight on armour -
Top & Bottom - 6.96 kg
Sides - 6.72 kg
Back & Front - 6.72 kg
Strength Bars - 5 kg
Speed Controllers - This robot uses a Victor 885 speed controller. We use the power at 30 volts. A mixer is used with a gyro to help with the control. Therefore in theory, Black Beard can turn on the spot and we can stick it where we wish to. Total weight on speed controllers€™ etc ~ 1 kg
Colour - Both robots have the original unpainted look, with the robots polished before the war, meaning by the end of the fight, the polish would have been wasted. To tell which robot is which, Black has a black arrow on both sides (the arrow on the bottom is different to the arrow on top), Beard€™s arrows are painted blue. All 4 arrows have dots in then for no reason; except for we bought the wrong paint. Total weight on paint/polish on each robot - 0.1 kg
Electrics - In total, 570 grams are spend on the wiring, the electrics are fitted into the robot by a local electron, and however we do have a wiring diagram in the tool-box. The wires are designed to restand high currents. Every system has a fail-safe, so that the robot is safe. Total weight - 0.57 kg on each machine
Skirts - 2mm titanium skirts run the length of the sides, designed to fold over when invertible. The hinge is mounted in the dead centre line of the side, and the skirts are a bit longer than the height (4.5 cm) to allow then to rest at an angle. The convex sides should prevent the skirts from resting flat. Total weight = 1.26 kg.
Power-link - A panel in the top and the bottom slides across, opening up a secure location, where you have to turn a pole 90 degree to access the link, by pulling it out sideways. This method is the best for robots, as it can be accessed from the top or bottom. As a power-link doesn€™t come into the weight, no weight is spend. The saved weight goes onto the arm.
Shape - Invertible box, slightly convex sides, and rear to stop landing onto sides/rear.
Velocity - Doing a quick calculation using the linear speed of the wheels give the top speed to be around 12 mph. This is assuming that the coefficient of friction of the arena floor is 1. The acceleration due to friction is pretty fast, compared to most vapourbots. It gets from 0 to 12 mph in a tad under 1.5 metres.
Suspension - To stop being damaged when hit by a spinner or rammer, everything is designed to move in it€™s own free will. The wires are able to do this. In addition, there is an inner sub-frame of the chassis which is built for strength. Total weight spend - 5 kg.
Ground Clearance - 5mm all over without skirts. At the front the swords make it zero, but no scoop to save weight. The swords are mounted at the bottom of the robot, but when flipped the swords rest at an angle to act more like a wedge. Side skirts reduce the risk of flipping, but nothing will stop those powerful flippers.
Turning Circle - Something really low, like 0.1 μM. As this is a tiny displacement, we shall assume it€™s zero.
Linking Method - Due to the new NBSFL rules about clusterbot, Black has a loop and Beard has the actual method, which is like Gemini (a sprung loaded gate). Total weight on both robots - 1 kg
Compactness - These robots are more compact that anything, with all the important areas (batteries, radio control) in easy to access places. Thanks to the removable top and bottom plates, the chassis is spilt up into different areas and is easy to work on, because of the diagrams.
Summary - Annoying little compact clusterbot, designed to be as annoying to other robots as robot-lee possible. Thanks to Steve for the parts name. Perfect handling, meaning all around protection.
Strength - The centre of mass of the robot is in the centre of the robot, meaning perfect handing. Armour, clusterbot, hard to get underneath and flip.
Weaknesses - The torque disadvantage from the small wheels, meaning it€™s going to be out-pushed. Non damaging weapon. Clusterbot rules. Swords aren€™t going to get robots out of the arena.
2 more entries for what?
You need a total of 8 robots. You only chose 6.
Oh, OK, heres my final list
My entries are
Terrorhurtz (RW7, see http://www.robotcrusade.comwww.robotcrusade.com for pic & stats)
Hassocks Hog 2 (RW7)
Dantomkia (RW7)
Infernal Contraption (RW7)
Little Sister (BB4)
Aces & Eight (BB5)
Killer B (BB4)
& for a bit of fun with this last entry, Bender (BB4). BTW, in the pic on http://www.robotcombat.comwww.robotcombat.com on the Nov2001 heavyweight robots report, in the pic of Bender, is the (how shall I describe it?) flappy thing a lifter?
My entries for the side events are
Football: Little Sister & I need a partner for this. Any takers?
Challenge Belt: Hassocks Hog 2
It doesnt mention any lifter on Benders profile on battlebots.com, Tom, so I imagine its just a wedge. And your battle record last tournament is correct, but 2 of your wins came from Marabunta being a heat finalist, so your Vapourbots obviously arent that bad!
Infusion will be a little late. I have to draw it up to find out if it will fit in the weight limit.
Will try to get the others in here tonight.
Sorry Tom, as much as Id have loved too, Ive already picked two robots that work together, so, Im sorry, I cant join you.
Also, its great youre back.
Thanks guys, BTW, my other win came from (the recently demised) Octopush in Round 1 of its heat. When battleboard is posted, Ill make my tactics. Now on the football matter, is there anyone who would like to be my team-mate please?
I will, i will enter with panic 3 gti 2
Done!! OK, Martyn, Ill accept.
Rich, Bender did have a lifter in BB 5.0, at the back to lift the rear end up to lower the disc at the front.
Yep, Matt, but the version of Bender Im using is from BB4.
It had it in BB4 as well, when it fought Little Sister in Round 1.
Ladies and gents, the Doomsday Project is now complete! :proud: In a few moments, Andy J will post the stats (many thanks!), but first a little challenge for you:
The proper inspiration behind The Doomsday Project is not from an RW or BB source, but something more unusual. Whoever can discover the true origin of Doomsday will receive 300 of my Virtual Pounds and 2 million Brownie points. :proud: The stats will give away a clue or two to aid your quest
So here you all go...and HUGE thanks to Scott Anderson for helping with construction :)
NAME- The Doomsday Project (HW)
SHAPE- tall scooped front with a front Bigger Brother-style spatula, sloped sides and a steep wedged rear. Basically, think along the lines of La Machine or Tsunami with fixed skirts and youve got the jist of it
COLOUR- deep black with a gleaming red eye on either side of the main weapon
WEIGHT- 95.9kg. Weight check below
DIMENSIONS- about 95cm X 75cm X 40cm
SPEED- 15mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- virtually 0mm at the front (due to the scoop and blade) and at the sides and rear (due to side skirts, 10mm underneath)
ARMOUR- 4mm monocoque Hardox all over, including the skirts
WHEELS- inside robot, 4 x custom aluminium wheels
POWER- uses 2 x LEM-130s running on 24v for the main drive motors and 4 x 36v Battlepacks for batteries
WEAPONS- The fun part. The key feature of the Doomsday Project is a large vertical disc sticking out of the scoop with holes drilled in to keep the weight down. Weighing about 20.4kg and composed of 4mm Hardox, the 50cm diameter flywheel has 2 teeth and is powered by a 48v Etek motor. It can reach top speeds of 3000rpm in approximately 4 seconds...and can produce round about 149kj. Ouch. Past cool, eh? :proud:
SRIMECH- Down the rear wedge and stretching a little bit onto the top of the bot is a Cassius-style CO2 arm. Powered by 2 x 2.2kg CO2 fire extinguisher tanks, the 145psi buffer tank (1.1kg) can last for around 30-35 flips, which should be more than enough for self-righting in your average fight. If things get really bad as well, the arm can be used to flip robots attacking from the rear, before swinging around and bringing the disc into play. The sloped sides also prevent the bot being beached.
NOTES- flies the Scotland flag. Also, written in red on the underbelly is Today, Knothole. Tomorrow, the world!
STRENGTHS- VERY powerful weapon thats damned hard to damage, tough construction, good traction, fast & effective srimech, tricky to get under, pretty good control
WEAKNESSES- so-so manoueverability
WEIGHT CHECK:
DISC:
Total Weight = 30.9kg
Total Weight with holes = around 20.4kg
Weight of Etek = around 10kg
TOTAL WEAPON WEIGHT = 30.4kg
-------------------------------------------------
MOTION:
Wheels = 1.5kg each, 6kg overall
Motors = 3kg each, 6kg overall
Batteries = 2.85kg each, 11.4kg overall
TOTAL MOTION WEIGHT = 23.4kg
-------------------------------------------------
ARMOUR:
TOTAL ARMOUR WEIGHT = around 37kg including side skirts
-------------------------------------------------
SRIMECH:
Canisters = 4kg
Ram = 1.1kg
TOTAL SRIMECH WEIGHT = 5.1kg
FINAL WEIGHT: 30.4kg (weapon) + 23.4kg (wheels & motors) + 37kg (armour) + 5.1kg (srimech)
= 95.9kg
Robotica?
Its not the original American RW, is it Steve (you compared it to La Machine, but apart from its shape, its not much like La Machine)?
Will this replace Chameleon in the football as well?
Entries to the Football are now closed, but any people yet to enter (Aaron, Scott and possibly Alex) can still enter the Challenge Belt.
This may sound daft, but is it Steve thats the Sherlock Holmes fan? Hound of the Baskerville?
FYI, Richie, the only link between Doomsday and La Machine is the similar shape and as for Football, stick in RotRotB to replace Chameleon :)
And as for the Doomsday Inspiration guesses...way off! :proud:
Its Dr Robotnik, from Sonic, isnt it? :proud:
Its the cooker from A Grand Day Out, isnt it? :proud:
*ding ding ding*
Hot dog! We have a weiner! :proud: Scotty wins 300 virtual pounds from my account and all those lurverly Brownie points :proud:
To be more precise, the concept of Doomsday came from the Sonic toon they made back in 93/94. During this summer, I was channel surfin, trying to find the video for Michael by Franz Ferdinand :proud:, when I stumble upon the toon again nearly 10 years since its last broadcast. Id forgotten how much it rocked :proud:
As for the clues:
- The Doomsday Project - comes from the last show
Today, Knothole. Tomorrow, the world! - reference to the Hedgehogs home
- Past cool, eh? :proud: - oft used in the Hedgehogs vocabulary :proud:
- a gleaming red eye on either side of the main weapon - a reference to the last image in the final show. Yep, it still haunts me today :proud:
So the truth is uncovered, Scotty wins and Richie now knows what kind of puns to use in Doomsdays intro :proud:
Steve, might I suggest checking around 440 to 480 on Sky for the music channels :proud:
I did, but it was never on there, so I tried all the others :proud:
The God Channels a good laugh, too :P
Do you have all the BBC1 regions?
Steve, if you want Michael, just watch Q for an hour. Then youll find it. In fact, you cant miss it:P
Cool song too:)
As for Dr. Robotnik.... do you have a life:proud:
Some of my Entries:
Name: Mother Of All Bricks 2(MOAB)
Motivation: 8 shuffling plates
Speed: 18MPH
Weight: 10kg
Height: 150mm
Length: 550mm
Width: 550mm
Weapon: A single 300g 3.6v cordless screwdriver with a deadly sharp diamond tipped drill.
Drive: 4 x B42-500 Magmotors on 48v with two stage planetary gear boxes driving 8 shuffle plates which have 30mm wide by 450mm long strips of Volcalon rubber giving it more traction then any robot around! Each drive motor is producing 32HP each! Giving it a whooping 128HP (Take that Storm II)!
Batteries: 160 C Cell NiCD Battle Packs producing 48v @ 12amps!
Armour: 7mm Hardox 700 ware all over the robot, there is 58 KG in armour alone!
Notes: Invertible, Fast, Tough and has skirts made out of 6mm Hardox which are connected via 20mm silver steel pins and locks. The skirts are invertible and are torsion sprung with a force of 85kg, this works both ways up, no flippers getting under this baby :proud:.
Name: Gyrate
Motivation: 4 WD
Speed: 5MPH
Weight: 100.00kg
Height: 200mm
Length: 600mm
Width: 600mm
Weapon: The weapon to be honest is over kill. It€™s not there to win battles with precision or by advantage, it€™s there to win by pure ignorance and brute force. Gyrate features a 27kg 4ft long flybar, with two big teeth on the ends. The weapon is powered by three Husqvana chainsaws(same ones from Executioner 2) which produce 17HP at 24000rpm. The weapon is geared 3:1 to bring the 27kg blade down to a calm 8000rpm at peak. The blade according to the Team Cosmos Kinetic calculator, will produce 1.45 MEGA JOULES, not Kilo Joules, but MEGA! With a tip speed of some what close to 1500km/h, the weapon gives off sonic booms from the blade! Spin Up time, around 3-4 secounds. To sum it up, this weapon is not a toy, it has one purpose, to destroy anything and everything that enters its way, even if it means destroying itself in the process(the weapon that is). As they say, it doesn€™t matter weather you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning.
Drive: 2 x S28-150 Magmotors with 30:1 planetary gearing, geared heaps so the motors will take the strain and load.
Batteries: 20 x 3000mAh NiCD cells to produce 24v 3amp. Just enough to last a full 6 mins.
Armour: 2mm poly. The opponent has to get past the huge spinning bar first though!
Notes: A one Hit Ko Machine
Advantages: The biggest, most powerful spinning weapon around
Disadvantages: No Armour€¦..
Name: Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3.1
Motivation: Wheels
Speed: 18MPH (480MPH Tip Speed)
Weight: 100kg
Height: 170mm
Diameter: 0.8m
Weapon: The robot itself is the weapon. It uses its drive and a custom made micro processor system similar to that used in a fellow translational spinner called Cyclone Bot to translate itself around the arena creating a €œVortex of Destruction€Â. Using 9 Hardox €œenlightened€ teeth, it tears its opponent to pieces when the teeth collide at a sub-sonic speed of 480MPH. Causing certain death to the opponent.
Drive: 3 x B42-500 Magmotors running on 48v. The motors are protected with a current limiting circuit and a thermal protection system which will ensure the motors don€™t over heat. The drive system uses a unique variable drive system with load sensing technology which enables the robot to start rotating with a high gear ratio preset at 10:1 giving the motors high torque low speed. As the robot gains rpm, which is constantly monitored via wheel rpm sensors, the gearing then adjust to suit the load of the motors and gain further speed allowing the gear ratio to lower from 10:1 to as low as 1:1 at top speed. The gear ratio can also over drive thrown the ratio 1:2 giving the robot nearly double the original top speed and allowing far more energy, but this is only used when the opponent is at a distance where it can easily be disposed of. Otherwise, the drive is left at 1:1 maximum.
MDU 3 sports an advanced drive control system to that of Cyclone Bot as it uses motor and wheel sensors to travel and translate in the most efficient possible way, minimising energy lose. The drive will adjust ratio to suit condition if it is loaded and will change if need to translate at the full 18MPH (10MPH up on the last version since the robot size has decreased for faster movement, quicker spin up times and thicker armour). Spin up time is minimal and varies between 0.5sec spin up and 1sec when the system is suffering from battery voltage drop. At a mere 1/7th of its full RPM, this robot will be dangerous. 500rpm will have enough energy to throw robots out the road and allow it to continue it quest for domination. If people start ganging up on it (Everyone will, I know), the drive system will be locked down into 500rpm mode allowing the drive to have nearly maximum potential torque yields and it will force the opponents away till it can then safely power back up to full speed and deliver the force of the €œVortex of Destruction€Â. To ensure endurance during combat, everything has been shock mounted for maximum protection.
Batteries: 160 x 5000mAh D Cell producing 48v @ 15amps. The packs are protected by a system like the drive which give both current and temperature protection. The packs are re-enforced between the cells with thermal conducting Aluminium plates which support the batteries from the G-Force at max speed.
Armour: 6mm Hardox 500 with stainless steel welding. Built in a monocoque design with triangle shape and inner supportive bulkheads.
Notes: Invertible. Dangerous and soon to be, your worst nightmare. All within your precious 100kg weight limit. Approche Avec prudence.
Advantages: Ultimate handling, with the ability to strafe, dodge and attack with out changing orientation.
Weakness: Stevo€™s Writing :proud: j/k Umm, probably itself.
Name: The Ultimate Wedge
Motivation: 6WD
Shape: A wedge shape like Voltronic
Speed: 35MPH
Weight: 100kg
Height: 250mm
Length: 800mm
Width: 600mm
Weapon: A High Pressure top hinged flipper powered by a 80mm bore with 3 20mm Burket valves feed from a 3L buffer tank, using 2.2L of Liquid CO2. Well over 500kg of flipping force. This is not designed to be a big powerful flipper, but is used to launch the opponents over the arena wall or to momentarily disable them so they can be rammed again! Flipper sits on top of the armour, meaning when the flipper fires, the robot is still armoured everywhere.
Chassis/Armour: 4mm Hardox 400
Drive: 2 x LEMCO 200€™s! Bigger then the LEMCO 130€™s and they put out more HP!
Batteries: 160 x 3000mAh NICD to produce 48v
Notes: The robot is invertible.
Advantages: The SPEED! The Pushability! The Strength! Flipping good :proud:
Disadvantages: Having to keep your opponent in the arena long enough to have fun
RIP CAGE & INFUSION COMING SOON!
Isnt the doomsday project from a side saga of the original spiderman comics where the villian red skull tries to use the abandon doomsday device by collecting the several sacred keys of the original builders. Some reason I think Captain America gets involved in this.
FYI, Haka, I finally found the Michael vid in the end :)...and as for your last comment, I just have a long memory. Were all sad in our own way :). Why do you think were on this Forum in the first place? :proud:
