can you can e-mail me as soon as the Zeobots are getting close to production please Paul.
We are building loads of machines at the moments, and it might be easier for us to buy them in instead of building them.
cheers

Hi
Just to let people know. I finally finnished off the hobby that has been being built since the start of this thrend. I have added a picture to my profile.
Hope you like it
Regards
Ian
a bit Cutlet-copy I think :)
It was alwasy going to be a cutlet copy from the very start. I was so impressed by Cutlet that I said I wanted a mini version. Just a pitty mine is not as spectacular.
I have changed the armour a little bit on Cutlet (more sqare like EWE2) So people dont get confused with Ians bot :)
Its a huge compliment to be copied anyway. EWE2 had ideas robbed from Dantomkia and Gravity.
Ian
I was sick when you changed it Ian because I had just cut out the shape and I could have made it just like cutlet.
What a shame.
Regards
Ian
i have hobbyweight (6kg) under construction, i got it moving under its own power just few hours ago, it will have EV warrior powered overhead bar spinner... :proud:
ev is 1.5kg. thats not much weight left for your bar
will be interested in seeing that run if you can film it....
bit of a 6kg fan you see, I have quite a few
it will make its debyt in our next event in finland 20th of november... then i have video, i expect much damage, one guy is making his 6kg robot out of 4mm acrylic! really, acrylic, not polycarb!
and his another robot is 1mm acrylic...i think that is some kind of joke but lets see :P
(note: his previous robot didnt have reverse!)
Ah, now that takes me back, took us a little while to get our robots to reverse when we first started... *cue flashback scene*
Sorry to revive an old thread but I thought Id turn your attention to some new 6kg robot kits which would probably be an excellent start for a young person to get involved with roboteering. I would say, from seeing these kits close up, they would make great fun for anyone from 8 to 80!
The Robo-Kits are 6kg fighting robots fully adaptable for different events. The chassis is made from a super-strong combination of precision welded steel panels, while weapon attachments can easily be added or removed. Each kit fits many different attachments such as spikes, scoops, hammers, and possibly in future, active weapons. The kits are really ajustable in any way you could imagine, without the user ever having to get out a hacksaw. Also, you dont need to go into the fuss of getting any electronics! Each kit comes complete with EVERYTHING you need to make a completely versatile combat machine.
Just go to http://www.robochallenge.co.ukwww.robochallenge.co.uk and use the contacts page (http://www.priorycastor.co.uk/web2/contact.htmhttp://www.priorycastor.co.uk/web2/contact.htm) to ask for more info.

Thanks Ewan, Ill have a look.
Failing that Xbotz.com can build robots to your exact specification.
wheres the fun in that :)?
James? Is it just me or did you buy robo-challenge.com and redirect it to your xbots site? see http://www.checkdomain.com/cgi-bin/checkdomain.pl?domain=robo-challenge.comhttp://www.checkdomain.com/cgi-bin/c...-challenge.com
In my opinion this is certainly just as bad as the incident with RobotCrusade and the KanOpener website.
Re Gary - Its a shame that not all people can afford to buy all the tools and materials to build a fully functional fighting machine. This is certainly an excellent chance for those who dont have the time or cannot afford to build from scratch. Some of the features of the kits, such as some really effective and origanal drill mounts are really worth every penny.

Didnt see your post Ewan, I put somthing simaler in another thread, then got an e-mail of a certain some one calling me a s*it stirrer.
Fair point Garry lol.
Paul, Out of interest have you had any trouble with the motors and gearboxs on the Zeobots?
Paul e-mailed me for anyone interested...Hes sold more then enough of the zeobot drive trains and never had any probs :)
there were a few robots running them on saturday and ran well.
I have had a breif look at the zeobot motors, and if i am correct, they are the same that i used in the origional PloughBot. They were good enough for what i needed them for at the time, and if there are many of them in a robot then thye should be ok. When i used them, they had steel gears, but Wayne (trilibium) used some in trilibium and kept on stripping and breaking the gears in them as they got changed to tuffnell gears. I dont know if that is the case with the zeobots though. Are they the tuffnell gears Paul? The motors from RS?
And Ewan, its not just you
Are Kilobots (1kg robots) stillin existance ? Thing is, I was given a metal case from a project my mate was working on, but screwed up, and I thought it would make a great 1kg robot (too small for 6kg), so do they still exist ?
check pic on profile, its the current finnish 6kg champion..

thats evil looking
is there any competition in the 6kg category/are there any comps?
Germany is a good Hobbyweight fighting country.
And 1 new Dutch machine did prove to be very evil.
VERY evil. So evil feathers shied away from it.
any uk event can run 6kg robots, in with the feathers.
for dedicated 6kg fights, we need more people to build them.
i am willing to build one if there are some more people intrested in building one
I might be able to make one , though it would be very basic .
April 8th and 9th the GRA (Germany) organises a competition for (a.o.) 6 kg Raptors.
June 18th DRG will do that in the Netherlands.
bit too far for me but if there was any competition here i would definitely build 1

The evil Dutch raptor. Without armour 4 kg.

WOW! Seriously impressed! :)
Bring it over here to fight the feathers, would be fun :)
Mario, Dat is een kwalijke zaak!... Je houden dat dingtje in Belgie!! :)
Geoff, that machine is Dutch, and I deny any influence on that builder.
This machine is build with the German raptor rules. these outlaw any high strenght RC motors- like Astroflights- or bigger than size 540, and voltages above 12V.
LiPo batteries arent allowed either.
Another dutch builder has announced to build a simular machine, but featherweight, and using state of the art batteries and motors.
BTW, good dutch, only the verb is wrong. houden is for multiple persons like you lot in this case it would be houdt.
I stand corrected, damn verbs!!
(Looking forward to seeing that new Dutch feather though!)
ahhh, you spoiled the suprise
and dingtje should be dingetje

@Mario
In the Raptor-Class motors are allowed up to 750er,
but not modified.
Batteries are limited to 12 V, but LiPo and LiIon- batteries are possible(11,1V)
@all
If you are interested you can find the GRA-rules for Raptors here:

This 6kg-class was made to give beginners with a low budget a chance to start with this hobby.
Dirk
Mario tries to deny that he had and has any influence on that Dutch lad, but he omitted the fact that several visits and travels together have already happened...
:proud:

With LiPo batteries its not exactly low budget anymore now is it?
But still, its a nice weight class, all be it to small for me. Looking forward to MMM 4 in april.
I found my first LiIon-pack on ebay, 1Euro + 8 Euro shipping.(notebook batterie)
That´s low budget i think, isn´t it?
In all classes it´s possible to buy better parts spending more money.
So we have some limits but not too much
