Looking gooooood! That bar looks like it will make a mess of most thing!
Its looking very solid - are we going to see a spin-up video?
If I can get it to work, of course :) Pretty big if lol
Will you have to remove the bar to get the top cover off to change batteries etc. or will you have smaller removable panels?
Yeah bar will come off.
Double post because reasons. Got the draw.
Massacre v Defector - EDIT, Hannibalito 4
Massacre v Drumroll 2 v Conker - Fun times if weapon works, bad times if not.
Endeavor v Defector v Massacre - My least favourite robot types (taking a guess at what defector is, flipper)
DB10 v No Toy v Massacre - Spinner and an axe. The axe could do some serious damage to me as thin top panel. Spinner could break stuff.
So I'm not particularly confident in my draws. Don't think I'll be qualifying this year but I'm so looking forward to the fights.
Defector is Hannibalito 4 under new ownership
Oh I see, That makes sense, cheers :)
Yay :)
Battle of the newly milled aluminium spinning robots, plus I've got to make up for the damp squib that Drumroll was in our fight last year!
This one will probably end up a role reversal lol. You'll be working and I'll fail
I'm innocent.
Om nom nom!

om nom nom indeed.
what? no full speed?
I'll leave full speed for when the 5s battery is charged and I grow a pair/find something to hide behind. I wasn't expecting it to actually work
Quite glad i don't have to fight this now!
Looking very good! :-) On 5S it should be even scarier!
And for hiding, I recommend wheely bins. Easy to move, fairly strong and big enough to crouch behind. :-)
Cheers guys :)
Hot damn son, dat spin, dat noise, dat helicopter, wow. Congrats mate, that's frigging awesome. :D
Looking good, with a nice short spin-up time! You might want to be careful though; I once did a spin-up test with just the motor and weapon mounted on the base plate and at near to full speed the whole thing took off! :uhoh: It jumped almost a metre straight up and punched a hole clean thru the 1" side of my work bench. if its not already held down, I would really recommend screwing the base to something heavy!
Congrats Harry, that is epic! The step-up you've made from last year's version is phenomenal and I hope every video camera is ready for our meleé with Conker :)
I reckon you might get some lift off that! Brilliant.
No pressure for it to keep working then!
Thanks for the concern Nick, I'll bear that in mind for the future. I'll shove it in the robot next time I need to do anything.
Jamie, Thank you for the kind words man :)
And yes, I fully expect Massacre to ping off into the stratosphere in the first couple fights.
For if it spins off and flips over, please paint something stupid on the base :D
Looks epic though, will hurt if anyone gets hit by that at full speed
Hey, what hight off the floor is that blade?
At the moment it sits between 70 and 75mm
Thanks; That's not so good for Mr Mangle so I'm glad we are not meeting up in the elimination rounds
Does that mean its tilted or that it depends on how tightly you do up the bolts or something like that? I would have expected it to be dead flat as everything has been lathed and machined but there may be some play in the parts.
And I can think of quite a few things to write on the underside of your robot, every pun and reference is worse than the last.
No its because I haven't stuck a ruler under it when its fully together yet so I can only approximate. Having a weapon that changes height depending how tight the bolts are doesn't sound like a good thing at all.
Looking forward to fighting it - twice :)
Wouldn't angling the blade make it fly?
Not like thats a bad thing tho
Sorry about that, I didnt quite get what you meant
In what universe would that be a good thing!?
And nope, no tilted bars for me, I'm not over keen on the idea. If I wanted a low bar height I'd have built an undercutter. Anyway, unless this robot totally fails I probably will be leaving the overhead style for the next one.
If the trailing edge of the blade was tilted up you would suck the bot onto the floor for more traction :)
