There's going to be some air-miles earn't in that fight one way or the other !
Can't wait !!! Even with a great robot like Thor pulling out, it just turns the Heat into something equally amazing.

What is Faux? And is TMHWK2013 any different from last year's Tomohawk?
TMHWK is getting some changes, like less leaks in the ram, a smaller buffertank, other batteries and easier acces to the parts inside.
will come down and meet some more people and catch up with others, will it be ok to pay one entrance fee for charity and then resides in the pits. :)
I'm sure we can arrange that - head to www.robotslive.co.uk to buy your ticket and then PM me the confirmation email and I'll add you onto the list for pit-passes.
Merlin has pulled out of Heat A leaving Robots Live with just Kronic as their robot in the competition. This means that 'Alien Destructor' from The Netherlands now moves into Heat A alongside Big Nipper and Faux. First round fight and our number one seed is taking on a robot they've never had to fight before..... the line-up just keeps getting better :) !
They may have met in Genk, in 2005 (?).
Head over to the Facebook group for the event to see the Robot Wars LEGENDS that are judging this event

Just announced !
Yes, we remember Genk very well and the good battles we had there. I remember Alien Destructor getting impaled in the side of the arena for quite some time and people trying to find a crow bar to get it out. Is Alien Destructor still using pneumatic tyres, as we still have two of the old ones that he gave us that we shredded at Genk? I remember a youth hostel that we stayed in at night where people had strange eating habits. I will never forget people with ham and cheese sandwiches and putting chocolate hundreds and thousands on them, and a local Chinese takeaway that seemed to put broccoli in everything.
Also if you didn't get the first two showers in the morning, the water was cold after that!
Yes, AD is still on pneus. And the chocolate (hagelslag) is still on all kinds of sandwiches :-) It's one of my favorites, anyway.
1 week left! Gravity 5.3D is waiting for it :)
Waiting to get its ass whipped.
When come the last Info to the Event, by e-mail?
The last e-mail was for 4 Weeks, but it still lacks information exactly where you actually got to go!
Thinks I'm from Berlin and turn Drive Thursday already going on, then information is difficult to call from!
Hallo René,
Sportspark
University of East Anglia,
Norwich,
NR4 7TJ
https://maps.google.nl/maps?q=Sports...nl&sa=N&tab=wl
http://www.fotos-hochladen.net/uploa...m7593x28fc.jpg

Quote:
We will be sending out packs to teams in the coming weeks with 3 x Pit Passes per team
Information will be out this week :)
Because I´m opening a pub at september 11th I´m not able to come over this year ... but next year if I can find the time we´ll be back with Hades & Brutus ... have a lot of fun and hope to see some trophy´s in Belgium ... !
That mean tomahawk isn't attending?
I think Marien is bringing it.
Tomahawk is coming.
Yep, TMHWK will be there with less leaks and more ground clearance :-)
Don't mention the ground clearance, the flippers might like that ;)
That depends on the state of the arena floor, doesn't it?
Roboteer email has been sent out, if you've not got it - please send me a PM (do not just post here in the thread !).

Everyone should have their Roboteer emails now, those who asked them to be re-sent have had them re-sent. You should also have your hotel confirmation numbers, the hotel has the same information sheet as you have been sent via Email so there should be no issues upon checking in with people not having a room if they're on the list !
Ed
Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday. Been a long time. ;-)
Lets see how the flippers and axes have changed in 2 years !
Also got some ex stuff for sale which will bring with me - http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/thre...ut-ex-team-kat
Safe trip over to my EU friends - see you Sunday!! :-P
I just wanted to say a massive thank-you to all of the Roboteers this weekend for coming together and creating an amazing event - the audience feedback that we've had via email and twitter says it all
"@RobotsEuroChamp that was totally awesome ! Thank you to everyone involved for a thoroughly entertaining show"
"@RobotsEuroChamp having a great day for neils b'day just waiting for Goliath to go ape sh*t"
"@RobotsEuroChamp awesome competition
"@RobotsEuroChamp it was truly amazing, Very enjoyable and such a wonderful city, Thank you"
... I could go on, but you get the idea.
We're just adding up the numbers (and taking off some floor repairs) but we're well into multi-thousands for charity, and we have asked the Charity to let us know what the money you all raised for them will be spent on.
Congratulations to our winners Toxic2, second place Manta and MeggaMouse for a hard-fought 3rd place.
I have about a million people I need to thank, but Alan from Robots Live needs to be singled out for all his support from start to finish of the event, from the planning stages, the publicity stages and the event itself. An immense amount of time and effort donated by Alan all of which made this event possible. I also need to thank Paul Morris and all of the team at the Anglian Radio Group who supported the event from the start and used their time resources and money to help us. All of our amazing Judges who did a great job, Dave Weston, Ed Wallace, Rob Grimm, Terry Miles, All of the Nippers, Tim from Storm who did a fabulous job helping take the arena down and thanks to them we were just about out of the venue by 9:45pm.
But mostly, a thank-you to the roboteers - it was fabulous to be able to put on such an event, offer a prize fund, support the cost for attending teams (Europeans) and stick you all in a hotel for the night and STILL be able to give thousands to charity. Each and every one of you deserve to take some of the credit for this weekend.
We've already started getting emails from the audience asking us for the dates for 'next year' so they can put it in their diary..... watch this space.
I was only there for the saturday but i had a great time. Lots of robots and good fights. Congrats to old Tight Arsed Tezza for winning the comp and Nipper boys for the challenge nut win. I think you done good Ed....I really hope you do it again next year and also hope you raised a shed load for charity. Its been a while since so many robots were at the same show, it was a good comp feeling. nice to see the euro lads too.
Thanks to Ed and Alan for arranging the event I hope all the many many hours of work put in will raise lots for all the childrens charities, all of the media attention that was achived for this event really has put our hobby on the map again It really was an excellent job done and I am proud to have been involved any way I could to help. HaHa cheers shane ! As for the competition thanks for the people who supported me when I won, normally something goes wrong for me and I get stuck or run low on gas but this time the robot was working fine.
I still can't belive it ! but tbh I was happy anyway just winning a fight every now and then, but for once I got to the top and its all made better by knowing we all took part in improving the lives of many children and I am proud.
congratulations to everyone else aswell.
Thanks again To Ed and Alan hope your proud too.
Ed and Robots live, thanks for the great show, we really loved it!
Also great to meet all the roboteers again, and see some amazing fights. (* robots almost hitting the roof!!)
I was a little bit disappointed in Gravity 5.3d, but its clear we need more testing. We love to come back next year?!?
Next year, oh god people want me to go through that again :( ? !!!
practice makes perfect..
A victim of your own success Ed :).
Late I know but had a great time dispite Bulldog Breed being a absolute pain all weekend, never quite wanted to work fully but I know exactly what I changes I will make to improve reliability and general power. Massive thanks to the guys in Team Tilly and Lero for their efforts to get Bulldog Breed in the arena working the best it could. Also massive thanks to Calumco for being my team mate for the weekend, we have done a lot of work together on the robot as well as he has put in time of his own, I wouldn't have Bulldog Breed the way it is without his efforts.
Absolute highlight for me has to be getting the chance to fight Tornado, though Bulldog Breed wasn't working the best it could, just having the chance to be in the arena with such a legend with a bot under my control is brilliant, not to mention the fact that DTK and TAN were there too, some real history in that fight!
Massive thanks as usual to the Robots Live crew and to Ed for making it all happen, feels good to have been part of an event thats done such good for so many people :)

and
3.Fight Toon Raider 2 (GB) vs. Iron Awe 5 (GB) vs. Beast (GB) vs. Luzifer (D)
From the videos and pictures I've seen, it sounds like I've missed a real gem of an event! If there's another event like this in the future, definitely going to get down and watch - congrats to all the roboteers and crew!
Also, was watching a few videos back and I was wondering - why are there two Dantomkias? (Well, one being called DTK)
this accidentally posted twice, apologies!
