why does seed 1 fight seed 8 ? bit odd, why isnt this drawn aswell , should be picked out of hat.
I imagine on the draw at 8pm there might be trouble if flat robots get tiberious ?
The reason why 1 fights 8, is the advantage is given to the higher seeds, the seeds are kept apart so the first and second seed can't fight each other until the final. If we were to draw the seed positions then we could have 1v2 in the 2nd round, and there would be no point in ranking the seeds. Odds say you will beat Ripper at some point, it might be this weekend! :lame:
If anybody doesn't want to fight the robot they have been drawn against, they can forfeit, giving a free pass for the other robot.
Remember to be the best you need to beat the best !!

I know I havn't chosen Saint but in truth Kronic has flipped out saint from across the other side of the arena! All the usual suspects are flippers except Big Nipper but in the next round they will play with Iron Awe 5 and we know how that usualy ends :shock:
I think Eruption will be in the final.

Can somebody please clarify the rule regarding pinning for me please.After 30 seconds does the robot have to drive away or just release it's opponent? And is there a minimum time before it can attack again?
It is not permitted to hold or restrain an opponent for more than 30 seconds, for example, where a hydraulic crushing weapon grips its opponent, or one robot pins its opponent to arena side or floor, to do so is instant disqualification.
I read that as:
Releasing may be good enough if the opponent has the opportunity to get away, ie: wheels on the floor.
Probably need an official verdict, though.
Here's hoping Toon needs some ventilation holes?

A well fought and well deserved win from Big Nipper, 2 time champs now! Also congrats on second place to Will & Maelstrom, try and get one better next year! A well deserved 3rd for Terry and Toxic, and Alan and Kronic in 4th. Surprised to see The top 4 seeds all go out before the Finals, thought Ripper would do better IMO.
Also well done to Eruption and Toon Raider on the win in the Tag-Team comp too!
Finally got Skyfall working for the last FW fight, it took such a battering from Battle Axe early on that it's now retired until the rebuild is completed :twisted: . Project X will fight in its stead at Gloucester.
