Nah that's cool, Carcinus' claw capacity at its most open is 700mm-800mm 8)
Really I am surprised how high off the floor do they grip? You can hold my wheels while I thrash you with the sword!! :proud: :proud: :proud:
To be truthful, they're not very high off the floor, maybe about 60mm? I'd be aiming to grab through the holes between the spokes :)
However, as you've said, if I grab your wheels you're free to whack away with your sword!
In truth the wheels are very floppy so as soon as you grab them they will tend to spring free, if you could get the arms through the spokes then you would line your robot up perfectly for a quick lesson in sword fighting
Hehe, indeed! Either way it would be an entertaining battle, and can hopefully take place in an arena soon :)
dont the wheels need to move for the sword to come over?
my crusher might cave a good go, its VERY VERY VERY long and has a razer style beak with behemoth like plow, so i can get under you and clamp and pit :)
failing thati could just oota you with the new flipper bot, or hack you to bits with prodigys axe :P
If the wheels are held in place (say, by the claws) then if the motors try to turn the wheels there will be no driving movement. Using a 'path of least resistance'....err...thingy, since the motors can't turn the wheels, the next easiest thing to move is the body, so it will swing over when the motors are powered up.
EDIT: Analogy is the word I think I'm looking for.....'path of least resistance' analogy
With the Old Seraphim (that ran at Swindon) I had all the flippers try to do something but most could hardly get that height the ones that did reach the underside of the Seraphim just about knocked it up on one wheel for about 1 second then Seraphim just drove over it!!!
The pushers are all too low and Seraphim drove over them too. The only robot that would have any effect on Seraphim other than spinners would be Little Hitter. But I am happy to exchange blows with that one anyday.
Here is a video of the old Seraphim the new one is over twice the power!!! and speed!!!!!!!
