The Killer Toad Tournament Special
I dont get why people love drum weapons so much, they never actually seem to do anything at the best of times, and certainly not against titanium. They lack the diamter to get up sufficient power to rip through anything much, vaguely scratch perhaps?

Ow I beg to differ. Blackdevil warzone punched its way straight through 2 layers of 3mm Stainless and bending the crankshaft behind it.
The only major drawback we had was that our drive was unreliable, but the drum worked like a charm.

Well in that instance would someone care to find me a video of a drum working well because Ive never personally seen it.

I spoke to the Stinger team sometime before Extreme 1 and they said that Tornados drum had sliced their hubcabs pretty good. Remember, just because damage isnt visible on telly doesnt mean its not there.

OK point proven that drums can be damaging and effective. I know when to admit defeat lol, however most of the damage done there was stuff that stuck out from the main body rather than armour on the main thing. I still dont think I have to worry too much about ripping through my titanium. Scratch it up a lot possibly.
Incidentally you dont seem to give any details on your weapon that would let me get a better idea - diameter, weight, dimensions and number/size/position of teeth would be nice...

Can I just point something out Alex - its something I learnt with D.V.D against Crash Bandi-Bot 3. Unless youve got an opponent made from Ali, you are not going to shred your opponents armour with a drum, but youre going to knock panels off that arent, or even ARE securly placed.
If that drum does damage you itll be easy from then-on.
For my match-up against SGO, my plan last time was to use spikes, to impale him at an angle suitible for me and pit him. I impale him, but at the wrong angle, the whole plan flipping backfired :proud:
This time, Ill use...
3: Front wedges, mounted in a similar way to those on forklift trucks, reaching out 25cm, and made of 8mm G5 Titanium, and of course getting thinner as it reaches the end of the wedges. The point of these is to ground other robots on them, and make them easier to push without resistance.
The advantage of this is the surface area rule, as because of the narrow tip, Im more likely to get under it than I would with the big wedges. From then on, use all 50 horses in my drive and slam him to hell and back...then dump him to Satan in person, by pitting him :proud: Im looking to avenge WORCK, MeCannibal and Knyfes previous loss.
Good luck Daniel

Its the same drum I used in the previous robot:
A titanium drum, with 8 pussycat style teeth, powered by a LEM-130 at 36v, it spins upwards to flip as well as rip. There is also a 3.25mm hardox scoop underneath the drum to give it 0 ground clearance, it is 25cm in diameter and spans for the full width of the robot, it weighs 8kg

Alex, do I assume your stats are at your usual site and for me to use the latest available stats?
Dan, I need stats for SGO
Andy & Steve, i need stats for both your machines

Ive got one for Timmy! It cracks me up every time!
Ive got a design which might work
Name: Fairground Killride
Weight:100KGS
Dimensions: 23CMX88CMX75CM
Shape: Do you know that fairground ride where it spins you around then up then down well that.
Wheels: 2 Small rubber grip wheels powered by 48V Eteks.
Motors: 8X48V Magmotors and 1 48V Etek.
Speed: 3mph
Turning Circle: Robot:0m Weapon:20m
Armour: 48MM Titanium and 36MM Hardex.
Ground Clearence: With Skirts 0CM all around without skirts 48MM Ground Clearence.
Weapons: A small Gyro Swing with hooks on the back of the seats. It spins so it twirls upwards hooks up the enemy flings them up then goes back down and goes both ways at 30MPH. In theory it can rip a robots armour clean seeing as it spins at 3222RPM and so uses up the 6 of the 8 magmotors just for the weapon.
Other: Its based on Maelstrom in Drayton Manor Theme park but even more deadly
