I would mildly suggest that based on the comments in this thread so far, the main cause of any conflict would appear to be The Space Centre staff being unprofessional, or least vague, about the status of the arrangement (or lack of it) with RR. On the face of it it seems more likely that this is the case than deliberate sabotage. With respect Shane, although youre obviously entitled to your opinion, whether RL or the Young family merit your outrage depends on what their understanding of the situation and their intent actually was. You dont really know that. Nor do I of course... If The Space Centre led them to believe that there was no contract in place with RL- as the copied email above suggests- then from an ethical point of view RL tendering a quote seems reasonable enough. That said, given previous upsets it might have been an idea for RL to check RRs understanding of the situation to avoid any possibility of this kind of conflict. Business is business of course, but I think it is unwise and insensitive- not to mention devisive- for an EOs not to check with each other if theres a possibility of conflicts with venues or dates. Itd certainly make for a happier community. All just my opinion of course...
John.

I think John W. and John F. are both saying the same thing, and I would agree with that. The main blame is bad communication with the venue.

Taking a look at the posts above, I sort of get the picture here, and I am inclined to agree with John W. as well. If The Space Centre did not handle their dealings with Roaming Robots in a professional manner, then it seems unfair to put all the blame on Robots Live and let The Space Centre get away with it.

not that i know whats going on but all that springs to mind is competition is healthy in business it helps keep you on your toes, i would blame the space centre personally from what i have read. but i dont know the full story. i would love to see e.os work together on an event it would be one hell of a show with all your gear you guys have.

Tom, since RL took over the event of that location the EO could also have been RL.

yeah sure it is. of course its bad communication. thats why if the venue did contact rl or rl contacted the venue with or without a signed agreement in place its still wrong diddly wrong from wrongton street, wrongsville. planet wrong. the thing point you miss is that robots live should have got in touch with roaming robots and discussed the situation. but they didnt.
kody you advertise an fan fic event called death to all event. i then do the same event called death to all and then the fra say to you that you cant run your event cos i am doing it. you would have thought i would have contacted you about it and disussed it. but i thought NOOOOO. i dont like you kody so sod you i will just go ahead with it.
jonno has the event. the venue then contact robots live. robots live know jonno is doing the event but the venue says to robots live can you do it cheaper. then robots live say yes we can but dont phone jonno and tell him whats going on as its his event. sod him we dont like him. lets face it if they did have anything about them and thought about what damage it will do they would have at least done something like phone or mail jonno. there are no excuses about blaming the venue and bad communication. so i conclude that the youngs intention was to do the event without letting anyone know till they had it in the bag. if you ask me the only decent thing to do is let the venue suffer and no-one do the event. if its the case that the venue did do deliberate sabotage and the robots live know what they have done is wrong then pull from the event and discuss it with roaming robots and come to a mutual agreement. but this is a cruel world and it aint gonna happen is it. MONEY really is the root to all evil.
