For heavens sake dont let John clap eyes on that thing..
It may well weigh 180Kg but I still cant see that stopping him challenging the European Space Agency to Stick it in the arena if you think its hard enough!
(Plus I dont fancy a bill for £410M!!) :uhoh:

It has a 2 year trip of at least 36m miles to get there and has to negotiate the martian landscape and everything else it comes across........
Yeah! Its a picnic compared to what it could encounter within 2 secs inside the XFM arena - a black spinny thing racing towards it could be the last thing seen through that webcam it carries :proud:

All ready to go with slightly revised machine coming out at a startling 11.7kg
Revisions are replaced front armour and homemade linear actuator for the claw instead of direct rotary drive. Ill record a test video this afternoon but wont get it online till after the weekend.
Ill only be playing in the cadet class with this machine - its a fragile thing :)
See you all there

550 miles and 2 and 1/2 days later....
Really enjoyed that. Rach is so shattered shes still in bed, but I just wanted to thank Ed and the XFM crew and attending roboteers for a really enjoyable weekend.
It will be a while now until we can make it to another, but look forward to our next one whenever that may be.
