Battlebots in the UK?
well thats thinking political, I left the FRA committee therefore i dont do political. Should Mr Roski and Mr Munson deside to run an event in the UK I will be there to help in any which way.
As far as im concerened Battlebots Inc is USA based and doesnt have much idea as to where or what to host in the UK and will be looking for help surely thats where the FRA caomes in.
The RFL and FRA are not alike. FRA is to robotic combat as the FIA is to motorsport as FIFA is to Football etc, the RFL is a league which gouverns itself,as a example (sorry Jonno) its like Jonno going off and doing a league without going by any FRA guidelines. Battlebots is the USA equivelent to the FRA. RFL is the USA equivelent to Roaming Robots.
And for my last point I received the email from Kevin Smith FRA sec not battlebots. I know how the FRA committee runs so the FRA has been in contact with or has heard from Battlebots otherwise Mr Roski or Mr Munson would of posted here.
that said i do agree with Karolines point but you need to start knowing the facts not the freightened animal approach. We should be thankfull there still thinking of us and not forgotten about us totally, one would assume they would bring there big names over which would proverbly include the legendary Biohazard. No offence intended to the cancelled World Championships but Biohazard would make one hell of an oppenent over Megabyte or Sewer Snake.

I dont think that an indication of interest, by email or any other way, constitutes a binding agreement. If we dont indicate interest, then it is quite likely we will never see a detailed set of proposals to respond to. Im interested and have sent an email to Battlebots saying so.

Beware, anything received and sent from an e-mail program called Lotus Notes can be called a legally binding agreement as it will never be deleated but stored on a file server in sweeden forever.

Battlebots in the UK?
Oh no!!! Ive emailed an interest in UK based competions to battlebots, does that mean they can come to my house in the middle of the night and snatch my robots away. Perhaps theres a mass grave of heavyweights in the desert near Las Vegas....

lol, Craig. I tend to agree with Geoff and Karoline, remembering the problems suffered with a certain UK TV company with RW and Technogames contracts, I am dubious about entering an agreement with an overseas company without being very cautious. My conern is not that it would be bad for the sport or that our robots would be pinched but that what it would mean for the existing live shows that we all enjoy doing at weekends.

One would hope that battlebots has the sense to realise that UK roboteers go to alot of live events and if it came down to either but not both then I know what I would choose, so i doubt they would even try getting us to sign an exculsivity (or whatever) contract that limits us from appearing at other events.
