How many you enter, save me a spot
One problem. There arent 30 people who make vapours. If I were you Dave Id make it so 15 people enter 2 machines.
P.s, Martyn agrees and wanted to be mentioned.
Tom: I agree with Aaron, but what ARE these new motors?! :P
Ok People: As Frank suggested, I will have 2 robots per person, but please bear in mind, you can gang up if that is a tactic, but when it comes to who goes out of the two, thats my choice.
Also, Walkers get the extra 20kg for batteries like everyone else (Heavyweight walkers are normally 200kg, so 20kg is added for batteries or gas, depending on your choice)
Spots have been saved, and the stats have been taken down, only 6 robots are in, another 24 left to find.
in that case (if the cluster rules 100% out) ill have angel of the abyss and ramthrax.
stats in the place i said before
Ill enter, save me 2 places please. :proud:
Seeing this is the kind of match where you need to be able to stay away from trouble while inflicting it yourself, I think my best bet would be Team Slippery Bastards. Or, as everyone else knows them, Tempest Evil-oution and The Disc 2.
Name: Tempest: Evil-oution
Shape: Disc shaped
Speed: 15 MPH
Ground clearance: 4 mm all round
Motors: The two wheels are powered by Bosh 750€™s at 24 volts, but the weapon is powered by a B42-500 magmotor at 36 volts. These are powered by battlepack NiCDs.
Wheels: Two. These have only semi-good traction, to prevent it staying near the opponent after striking. Again, they€™re stuffed instead of pumped.
Weapon: Full body spinner, can reach speeds of 2000 RPM. The thing has six hardox teeth, two at the top, two at the bottom, and two in the centre, and each tooth is 15 CM long, and slightly hooked at the end, with a little sliver of diamond at the business end. In case you€™re wondering I did some experiments and I found that€™s the best shape for the bouncing off. This way, no matter which way its running, there will be two teeth near the ground. This is important, because it means no matter how gentle the slope of an oncoming wedge, a tooth will hit it before any serious pushing/flipping can be done. Along with its deliberate bouncing which throws both it and its opponent away, its literally an anti-push robot. The spinning rim of the robot weighs in at 35 KG, and all in all produces nearly 60 KJ€™s when at full speed.
Armour: 5 mm aircraft grade ali for the rim, 1 CM grade 5 ti at the top and bottom.
Srimech: Runs either way up. If the weapon is running, it cant stay on its side.
Extras: Deliberately bounces off of things it hits, so that its just about impossible to push, and also has time to spin up to a damaging speed again. There is rubber tape at all places where two pieces of metal join, and it has rubber shock pads mounted at strategic places on the inside, and the important components are foam mounted, allowing it to absorb its own impacts very well.
There is a 5 mm ali €œshield€ over the wheel mounts. This STOPS AXES FROM HITTING THEM MATTY!!! Under the shield is a counter-weight, allowing the shield to spin around once Tempest is flipped.
Strengths: Damaging weapon, it€™s very reliable, is hard to predict and cannot be shoved around.
Weaknesses: Is also pretty hard to control. Wheels are exposed to axes, but are stuffed so won€™t take too much damage from them.
Name: The Disc 2
Shape: A vertical spinning disc, supported by a framework and two large wheels. The components are all inside the wheels, which are perfectly round so it can€™t rest on its side. The framework is around the disc, and protects it from blows by horizontal spinners. The wheels also have a large spike sticking out from the centre, which prevents robots like Forcepower getting near enough to shove it around.
Speed: 10 MPH.
Weapon: 30 KG spinning disc, powered by a B42-500 magmotor and going at 4000 RPM. According to Aaron this will whack out around 52 Kj€™s per strike.
Armour: The wheels are made of 5 mm aluminium, over 1 CM rubber compound, over 4 MM Ti all around, with 2 CM rubber treads wrapped around and glued in place. The frame is made of 1cm Ti bars.
Srimech: Totally invertible. Controls won€™t even have to be reversed after flipping, meaning it can just go straight back on the attack.
Strengths: Very damaging weaponry, hard to attack as wedges will just go straight under the wheels and be hit by the disc, and axes and crushers will slide around the wheels as opposed to damaging them, plus Behemoth style scoops can€™t get near enough to shove thanks to the spikes.
Weaknesses: Quite hard to control.
Random fact: Will retire just as soon as everyone works out how to get rid of it.
Oh, in that case
Name;Smudge 3.142
Weight;120 kilos
BS;Drillzilla type walker
Movement;8 banks of feet
Speed;30mph
Power;6x 24v Batteries
Armour;8mm thick titanium with a 2mm thick fur covering
Weapons;Interchangable (see below). For this match, I will use set-up 1
Srimech; Can change depending on set-up (see below)
Strengths;Interchangable weaponary
Weaknessess;Take a guess...
Weapon/Srimech set-ups
Set-up 1;(the one I will be using) a massive Gravity style flipper covering most of the robot. It acts as Srimech and guards are added over the banks to stop them being attacked
Set-up 2;A giant Kat 3 style axe. It can still right and the guards are there again
Set-up 3;A set of Kan Opener style pincers. The robot runs inverted here without guards
Set-up 4;3 vertical cutting discs, like Pussycat, spinning at 3000rpm. Again the robot is inverted.
Remember though, I am using set-up 1
[Movement;8 banks of feet]
Banks? Why banks? I thought they were cash machines not used on a robot?! :S
