yeah although there's not really enough of the shaft sticking out to do it (that bolt is only on a few millimeters so needs to be trimmed down. and the sprocket cant be moved up the shaft as its too small. I could put a bearing on the boss of sprocket I sopose. Will worry about that later.
thanks though, its a good idea though

just did a quick test a 12 volts and its pretty powerful and fast! its gonna be great at 18 volts! although im going to have to solve the issue of the impacts on the frame, may need to stick some rubber on it!

Quick video, although its badly edited, and pretty rubbish, oh well ill put up a better one ones its working.
I have completed fitting the axe, and shaped the axe a little as well (although that was after I filmed the video.

As you can see it was only driving in one direction as I was running it off a car battery, and was very wobbly as I was trying to film it while crouching and operating the axe.

Re: Team Bodge Job

yeah, im surprised at how powerful it is, and i have the parts to change it to 24:1 so I might give that a test sometime. The chain also provides 5:1 reduction. and yeah im not gonna leave them open, im making a new top and back, and keeping the old parts to use if the axe breaks.

That's amazing! Really makes me want to get my axe built. To echo the other comments, I never expected a GR02/drill motor arrangement to be that effective. And all this time I've been messing around with beefy scooter motors and Bosch 400s
To get your video to work, you need to have the full unaltered Youtube address within those [youtube] brackets, rather than just the abbreviated address. Doing so will embed the video, like so:
