Just about finished the second wheel pod, only framework, and weapon left to make, we have some time next week end, but that's about the last time we have before the champs, hope we can finish it!

Reienforced 3mm steel wedge made, and frame made, we will screw it together tomorrow. http://s1111.photobucket.com/albums/h46 ... napbucket/
And we still haven't made the spinning weapon, or bolted the weapon together, so we are going to try and do that tomorrow, but tomorrow is practically our last day of building, which is quiet annoying, but hopefully we can do little jobs here and there, during the week before the event, or assemble it there :?
And we are still looking for a better hub, and were switching to a plane steel bar, as attaching extra teeth will be time consuming and take up 5x the space. Any suggestions for the blade material though? As mild steel would probably be to soft...
Middle pod done, that contains the electronics. Mounting the wedge after lunch, and we will do more work on the spinner frame later. http://s1111.photobucket.com/albums/h46 ... napbucket/
Really looking forward to seeing Bruiser II in person. It's looking really good. I have been hatching similar ideas for my second machine! :)
Yeh, to be honest, I think at its current stage (with the wedge) it is worse than the old bruiser, it's weaker armered, weaker structurally and weaker drive, with a weaker weapon, lol, it's a bit of a fail, I dont think we can finish the spinner before the event, so Its just going to be a useless rambot... Should be able to get a drive video up tonight, or tomorrow, and show you what I mean...
Surely the motors give more power than 4 drills? I'd be surprised if they end up being worse.
Look forward to the drive video.
What motors are you using? Should have tons if grip with 8wd
I'm using a speed 900 replica, but it's on a 5:1 reduction (maximum reduction with chain we could get, and the replicas arnt that powerful. Also the wheels arnt grippy, so we may stick some rubber on it, to improve the grip.
what size wheels?
5 inch, it's huge, the hole robots to big, its like 40x50cm, every thing weighs to much. If we're going to build the spinner, I'm going to have to build it after school using very basic tools, I don't have access to and descent stuff till after the hols (which is to late)
