FRA elections 2009
Craig - At the moment all those listed above will get a seat. We have not yet agreed how many roboteer reps there will be, but it will be more than 5. So, until we have more nominations, there will be no election.
If we get more nominations, then an election will be called and the membership will get to choose the reps they want to represent them. The nominees with the most votes will then become a roboteer rep.

The list above shows the commitment of our roboteer members to their association and their determination to keep our sport on a forward path.
Both the out going and the incoming FRA executive recognise this and and conclude that the best way forward is not to have an election but to accept all nominations from paid up 2009 members.
It is proposed that all the above names would become your governing body members from the 1/04/2009.
Should any of our members wish to object to the above proposal, please post your comments here.

Whats the situation for the President?
I noticed Geoff has put his name forward to become a roboteer rep - does this mean is removing his bid for president?

FRA elections 2009
The Presidential situation is up to the new governing body to decide upon.
From my understanding Geoff is not removing his willingness to stand for the presidents office.

Just a small observation, correct me if Im wrong, with twelve roboteer reps does that give us a voting committee of fourteen? Committees should always have an odd number to prevent a tie occuring in a vote.
Trevor said there would be a vote if there were more than five candidates for roboteer reps, we now have twelve!
I believe the roboteers have the right to choose who represents them, there should be an election to select 8 or 9 from the list (depending on which gives an odd total).

I think Mikes right, there really should be an odd number on the committee. If Geoff does run for president and he loses and then remains as a roboteer rep, obviously not a problem but if he wins I think there needs to be either a replacement roboteer rep or we need to vote the numbers down to give us the odd number that we really should to have.

FRA elections 2009
Welcome to all the new reps, I am looking forward to working with you.
The new committee has some important constitution changes to make, so the first meeting will be a busy one.
Now lets ditch the politics and get down to playing robots.

FRA elections 2009
Hang about! the roboteers have yet to decide whether there will be an election or not!
The outgoing/ingoing committee (four people in total) may think that having all applicants as reps is the way forward but it is up to the community as a whole to decide.
First the committee cancelled the presidential election was when we had a candidate for the post, why?
Now we are told that they intend to cancel the roboteer reps election!
So much for democracy!
