That would be mine. :P
But if it displeases you, I will change that Generic skin, since theres no way in hell you would join for the hell of it. :P
EDIT: Generic skin has been modified.

Cant really see how you can run an axe off a rack and pinion from an electric motor...otherwise good.
quote:
One problem: B42s dont really exist. :-O
Aaron brought in a farfetched idea about B42-500 MagMotors a few years ago and generally everybody accepted that they were real...until people did some researching and found out they didnt exist. The closest thing to those are BFA42s, but theyre not as powerful as LEM200s.
The B42 series of Magmotors did in fact exist, they use to be branded under the name of Bxx-yyy (xx replaced with the model number 42 in this case, then yyy winding rating, 500 in this case). They changed the branding of the motors over the last few years. Research would have lead you to http://web.archive.org/web/200308271...m/B42.htmhere.

Feel free to help me get my bots (possibly) ready for Robot SMASH!! Series 2.
ROFL
Didnt Liam ban you completely from his tournaments? I guess you must have dropped your contact lens, because you cant read.
Get out.
OK, so I thank everyone for helping me with my heavyweights. Now, I need a little bit of help with my other-weight robots.
Wrangulator (FW)
Weight: 10 kilos
Body Shape: Diamond Shaped, a bit like Eye Of Newt from the Series 3 pinball tournament.
Speed: 20mph
TC: 0
GC: 0 under each wedge, 4mm otherwise.
Wheels: 2 inner.
Power: It has similar to what powers Rip.
Armour: 2mm aluminium
Colour: Dark Grey.
Weapons: A wedge at each end, tipped with a miniture blade. Because of the way the wheels are positioned, the robot can tip from one wedge to the other. The robot also has spikes on the side of these wedges. To use these, it spins on the spot, lifting both wedges off the ground and lifting the spikes in the air.
Srimech: Invertable.
Strengths: Fairly powerful.
Weaknesses: Armour.
Little Big Bot (LW)
Weight: 22 kilos
Body Shape: Looks a bit like Biohazard, without the skirts.
Speed: 15mph
TC: 0
GC: 2mm.
Wheels: 4 inner.
Power: 2 12v batteries, plus couple Magmotors... the usual.
Armour: 3mm titanium
Colour: Yellow top, Green sides, Red LBB letters on each side.
Weapons: Nasty axe with Dominator 2 style point.
Srimech: Uses the axe for that.
Strengths: Weapon.
Weaknesses: Lack of experience.
Tom (MW)
Weight: 50 kilos.
Body Shape: Basic wedge.
Speed: 14mph
TC: 0
GC: 0 at wedge, 3mm otherwise.
Wheels: 2 inner.
Power: 3x 12v batteries, plus Magmotors.
Armour: 5mm titanium.
Colour: Painted after the cartoon cat after whom it is named. You work it out.
Weapons: Front flipper, which can throw five times the robots weight into the air.
Srimech: The flipper does that. It also has whiskers and a tail to prevent side and back strandings.
Strengths: Weapon.
Weaknesses: Jerry!
Octo-Push 3 (SHW)
Weight: 150 kilos
Body Shape: Box Wedge shape, basically. A bit like Minion, I guess.
Speed: 10mph
TC: 0
GC: 0 at front, 3mm around sides, 2mm where disc is.
Wheels: 6 semi-outer (protected).
Power: Same stuff Storm 2 uses.
Armour: 3mm Steel.
Colour: Aqua green, light blue and light green wheel protectors. The spinning drum has a light blue top and dark blue sides. Two yellow Octopus eyes are attached by springs to the robot.
Weapons: Front wedge and massive rear Drum, spinning at 1000 RPM. Think of it as Storm 2 meets Revolutionist meets Squidward Tentacles.
Srimech: ....you know, Im not even going to bother. Something that large would need a miracle to overturn, BOTH ways.
Strengths: Power, weapon.
Weaknesses: No srimech.
To be completely honest, Im thinking of giving Octo-Push a complete overhaul.
Either way, some advice from anyone would be greatly appriciated. If your name is AJ, Steven or Joey, then that would be especially nice, because all three of you have given me great guidance in the past. If your name is Mark Elam, then iss-pay ff-oay!
The armour on all of them is rather weak, and the vagueness with which you state your drive is as bizarre as ever :P Id go for S28-150s in LBB, and 400s in Tom...possibly 14.4v Dewalt drill motors in Wrangulator, thosed be good. The weaponry lacks any stating of power, and the ground clearance needs sorting; on Wrangulator it doesnt actually make sense with the shape, and with the others it needs at the very least doubling.
(its late at night, so I apologise if this sounds curt or irritable at all)
In my defense, these stats are older than some of my heavyweight ones. Of course theyre going to be vague. :lame: :proud:
Anyway, Ill try to do something with them later.
Make the drive on wrangulator like Bonx, 2 speed 900s @ 24V, That drive with the 100mm wheels and 8:1 reduction the speed is phenomenal (over 30km/h). With 24V nicads you still have plenty of weight left for 4mm hardox all over.
So, how does Blue Sparks look now? Overweight? Still unfeasable? Actually (Shock and horror) quite good?
Name: Blue Sparks
Shape: Box
Colour: Red, with blue sparks painted on the back corners. If youve played the Mario Kart games, think the ones you get when you drift-turbo
Weight: 110kgs
Dimensions: L: 110cm W: 75cm H: 30cm
Speed: 13mph
Turning Circle: 0
Armour: 6mm Titanium all round
Ground Clearance: 7mm
Movement: Titanium tracks with Vulkanon treads, powered by a couple of S28-150 magmotors powered by 4 NiCad Battlepacks at 48 Volts.
Weapons: A 30kg Hardox horizontal spinning disc powered by an Etek and 3 24v NiCad battlepacks. The 2 teeth are Hardox, and curve to a point to rip as well as bludgeon. The disc spins at 500rpm and deals out 94kjs of energy.
Scrimech: Invertable
S28-150 for drive might be a bit on the small side, S28-400 is better I think. Or Perm 080 pancakes, less space, lots of torque.
Sensible speeds for a 2 tooth spinner in the neighborhood of 50cm diameter is about 1500-2000. On 1750 rpm you get 120kj roughly.
Apart from that, a nice spinner.

:)
The flow is much better than it was at the UK champs it seems.
funny leo cos everyone thought the same tho i havent changed a thing it must have been the warmth of the day.. there is a buffer being fitted shortly. :)
Well it definitaly looks a lot more powerfull there than it did at the UK champs (although you did get some nice flips in there as well). Specifically the selfrights.
Does anyone see any problems with these bots?

Locomotion: 4 Vulkanized rubber wheels.
Armour: 7mm Titanium/Vanadium alloy
Speed: 20mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm all around due to skirts. 5mm without skirts.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: A very big 6000psi Titanium/Vanadium alloy crusher. Powered by a Vivoli pump motor, it can come down with over 6 tonnes of force.
Srimech: The domed shape will help it self-right. If that fails there is always the S28-400 Magmotor powered self-righting arm built into the back of the robot.
Does anyone see anything wrong with these vapours?
Yes- no tournaments for them to enter
Besides That!?
I dont think the build rules allow hydraulic pressures higher than 3000psi.
(God Ive been getting rational and sensible lately :P)
Roveress Evo - Youre not getting 5.5 tonnes without using hydraulics.
Side Swipe - Whats the bar made out of?
El Camino - Is the skirt one piece of metal? If so, this robot is grounded. Besides, FBSs dont really need skirts. Also, how can it be a dome shape, and invertable? You want it to be a cylinder.
Bubble Blaster - Other than the hydraulic preassure mentioned by Joey, I dont see any problems.
Ok Frank....

I also was looking at The Oddessty threads, and wonder...
WHERE DO YOU GET ALL THOSE CHEAP B****** POWERS!?
(Message edited by corsair_lightning on May 21, 2008)
post removed - did that when I was feeling bad
I will say that five S28=400s and a hydraulic crusher and titanium that thick would put Bubble Blaster overweight.
(Message edited by joeychevron on May 21, 2008)
And the same place that Tom Roper learned to say:
WTF, Mate?
Another of my odd technical questions:
If I had a three wheel arrangement (two driven via seperate motors at the rear, one castor at the front), would it be feasible to have a setup where I could switch between using car type steering (with the rear wheels moving as one and the front castor doing the actual steering) and tank type steering (with the front castor being passive - I might have to have it made of nylon or something so it didnt create too much friction(would this mess up the steering?))
I was thinking about it, and I thought it might give me the ability to retain control at high speeds while still being able to get out of tight spots.
It would take some work to get right, but sure, it could be done.
Go away, Mark.
Yes, Im going to say that in every post directed at you, until you LEAVE!!! :P
Well, Kody...
TOO BAD!!
Im not leaving unless the mods ban me, which they havent!
And its those comments that prove you are an immature brat. :P
Mark, myself, Kody and Martijn have been discussing your case by carrier pigeon, and everyone here knows the mods can ban you at any time, which should be anytime soon
Mark and Kody, I suggest you 2 just ignore each other, its easy to do.
No, Dave. If we ignore him, hell just use the entire forum as his own personal spamming board. Like Timmeh did.
We need to drive him out. :P
But what about the rest of us Dave?
Dave, I think thats a great idea.
That way, I dont have to listen to him consistantly spam this:
Go away, Mark.
Why do you think hes saying it
but Dave, if Im gonna ignore Mark, how can I still follow those lovely battles hell post in VRW2?
Can anyone examine whats wrong with these two machines Ive recently built? If so, Ill do my best to correct them. Any advice is welcomed :) ffffff>Except for Mark - he cant give me advice, as pretty much no-one will take it - DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU CANT BUILD A VAPOUR YOUSELF!!!!
IZZHARD
