Meh, the pit route sounds fine. I think its Sgt. Bash in that route. Still, Ill chance it. Will probably get further than if Tira took the other routes. :P
WORCKS tactics:
Ill avoid going down the middle, as Ill most likely get under the seesaw rather than go over it. Ill take on the ram-rig, as the Sentinal will go over WORCK and allow me to travel through safely.
1: There is no sentinel
2: I assume the seesaw to be infinitely low
Just saying, I dont think the sentinel was ever on the ramrig route before anyway.
Change of plan:
Ill actually go down the right route, as I can possibly get under quite a bit and put it down the pits, and also, WORCK isnt very wide, so that should help.
Tempest will go for the middle route.
FIRST, FROM ETOBICOKE NEAR TORONTO, IN CANADA, TIRA III!
This titanium armoured fighter is protected by front scoops and side and rear skirting to prevent her being flipped, and she has four wheel drive fron two Lynch motors with a further two powering the weapon. Shell spin her way into the competitions nightmares with a three toothed 25kg front flywheel, and has a top speed of twenty miles an hour.
FROM GEDDINGTON, BALDUR GAMMA!
The smallest machine in todays competition but definitely a tiny terror, with a front actuated interchangable scoop constructed from Hardox and flexible titanium foam to absorb energy from impacts and get underneath opponents, propelled by a robust 48 volt Lynch motor drive train with four wheels protected by Kevlar and tungsten, reaching speeds of 17mph.
FROM GAINSBOROUGH, TEMPEST EVIL-EST-OUTION!
Tempest sports an outer spinning ring as its main weaponry, eighty centimetres wide with four hardox teeth to rip up opponents with a force of eighty kilojoules per hit at 1000rpm. The two wheel Magmotor drive gives it a somewhat slow top speed of twelve miles an hour, and its invertible with 15mm Lexan armour protecting the electrics.
FROM ORPINGTON, WORCK!
A front hinged low wedge flipper with a name that apparently didnt mean anything until I badgered Paul about it, Worck runs from S28-400 Magmotors with high pressure carbon dioxide gas on the flipper ram giving about 20 flips on a full tank. It moves at thirteen miles an hour with the main body being protected with titanium skirts and a Hardox bodyshell.
FROM STAFFORDSHIRE, RIPPER!
A Hardox-clad yellow and green beast with Bosch motors powered by NiCad battery packs powering the two wheels to rwelve miles an hour, it rips with a front full pressure carbon dioxide gas powered flipper and self righter, and apparently only cost 600 pounds to build.
FROM BEDFORD, CRIMSON THUNDER!
Finally, this red parallelogram box wedge is the fastest machine here at 30 miles an hour, driven from four Lynch motors and Vulkalon coated tyres to provide the ramming power which is its main weapon. Armoured in hardox, flipping doesnt bother it since it can run both ways up and can defend itself with skirts on the sides.
Gauntlet coming up sometime or other, I may drop the intros for the next one since theyre a bit of a pain to write.
Quick question:
Would anyone be particuarly offended if I semi-hypoed the gauntlet and trials for this heat and restructured the final as a S4 style heat (three-way melees at the start) ?
(I wouldnt cop out of everything; Id still write all the battles for this heat and the final)
Its just that I find it easier somewhat to write battles rather than events, and also almost nobody has stated their choice of route here, and those that did specified the route that I by default send people down...I think Ive found the reasons people stick to writing straight battle tournaments :proud:
i wont be offended :)
....right, after the overwhelmingly massive response to my question, I shall assume nobody has a problem with me fast forwarding things a bit, and therefore anybody who complains will be ignored. Fair? :lame:
GAUNTLET:
All went down the left hand route.
TIRA III: Got stuck on the starting cage coming out for about twenty seconds, and after freeing herself, got held up by Killalot at the start of the route and was pushed back, although Kody did manage to rip the house robots breastplate a bit.
1.5 metres
BALDUR GAMMA: Was able to dodge Killalot easily, swerved to avoid Sgt. Bash and almost ended up in the pit, but was inadvertedly freed by Bash when he tried to push Baldur into the pit, and got across the line.
COMPLETED in 27 secs
TEMPEST EVIL-EST-OUTION: Held up by Killalot about halfway down the route, who picked it up and flipped it to little effect, but then pinned it against the wall.
7.25 metres
WORCK: Managed to get past Killalot, but was held up by Bash and ended up with half of its drive wheels in the second pit, before Killalot came back down and pushed it in.
11 metres
RIPPER: Was pushed back by Killalot, but fought back and managed to slip past, before dummying Bash to get to the end.
COMPLETED in 38 seconds
CRIMSON THUNDER: Was picked up by Killalot, who beached it on a wall and cut into one of the wheels, but Danny got some traction and managed to get down and straight into Bash, pushing the house robot out of the way sideways but failed to stop afterwards and went straight into the second pit.
11 metres
