Re: 2010 Featherweight UK Championships - 3 Days September
Both robots done and should be ready for the fun :D
I think the idea of no fight no points seems fair, the chance of either one of our robots getting a knock out means this rule won't apply by default. :uhoh:
Looking forward to seeing everyone's efforts on the drag racing side, it may get me interested in making something next year.
Re: 2010 Featherweight UK Championships - 3 Days September
Got boner running well, it's insane on two speed 900s with lipos! Got a slight alignment issue on the ride on racer with the clutch, hopefully a quick disassembly and realignment should sort that out. Stock racer is good to go and I haven't built a modified yet but have plans for a VERY crude one.
Incidentally does anyone has a spare male connector for the non ride on racers I could buy off you at the event?
Re: 2010 Featherweight UK Championships - 3 Days September
Aftershock 2 is finished just needs charging and some gas and its ready to go.
Whirlpool still needs work doing to it- motor needs replacing just opened up the old one and the gearbox is completely smashed got a spare but its being a real pain to replace since i can't get the wheel or mount off the old motor. If I can get that done then it needs some more anti spinner armour fitted.
I will also be bringing Whirlwind along to have a go in any whiteboards.
Finally the dragster is finished made a few changes this year- now its 4WD with some very nice new wheels fitted so its looking good.
Also I'll be camping thursday/friday/saturday just a small tent, Dad will be coming along on saturday as well.
Looking forward to it now- just hope I can finish Whirlpool in time.
Re: 2010 Featherweight UK Championships - 3 Days September
Just given Drumroll II its first spin-up. Well, semi spin-up; I was holding the motor with my hand so didn't feel safe taking it up to anything more than 1/3rd throttle but it goes like stink at that 8)
Some balancing is in order as it does have a bit of wobble to it but first I'm off to mount the motor in place so I can do a full on test :)
Should all be ready to go in two days.
Re: 2010 Featherweight UK Championships - 3 Days September
Well it took a while but Whirlpool is running on all 4 wheels once again not sure if I'll have time to fit any more armour but at least its moving.
Just got to pack everything up and we're ready to go, even found a full gas bottle so Aftershock 2 is ready to enter the arena with a few days to go- must be a record for us
Re: 2010 Featherweight UK Championships - 3 Days September
Hi John
Sorry there's going on since your question ... Toony spinny thingy , as you put it, is working fine & has been ready & waiting for 2 weeks now .... It just wants to play. I believe if I'd had this disc on Scorpion Evil I would have killed Tiny Toon long ago.
Looking forward to the event
See you all Friday
John
PS There is going to be a form for every machine that will need filling out so that judging can be monitored completely.
Good Luck to all
