The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
Hmm, good tactics there Paul...cant really be bothered to think of many additions myself :proud:
Heat C:
Ill use a pair of lifters for this fight...Ill try and break Infusions traction with the forks, and take it kicking and screaming over for MeCannibal to rip apart (or more likely, the forks will be scattered to the four winds and MeCannibal will destroy itself on contact with Infusion, but thats life :P)
Heat E:
I may, instead of trying to take out Clawdius srimech, try and grab on to it with the axe and (in true antweight fashion) wrangle the thing into the pit.
Heat H:
Storm can go for Salamander, while I regret not entering a better realie (like Flirty Skirty or Broot) and spin around hitting things.
Good luck people, mind the shrapnel on your way out :proud:
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
Heat C
Please Joey - try to stop Infusions ring before pushing it into me, as I dont want to MeCannibal to be torn apart. Try and push it into the wall, and then push under the ring and keep it from spinning again, then shove me into it so I can do what Tempest did and break the spinning rim. Exertion is properly easy for us to deal with, at least easIER than Infusion, but we should take out Exertion with relative ease. Ill start by tearing the scoopp, then you can pit it.
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
Uh...yeah, whatever you say :proud: although chances are well get creamed anyway...I may use the arena wall as a sort of makeshift brake to slow the thing down, that could work.
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
You might want to think twice about ripping that Titanium lifter off no issue and taking out Exertion with relative ease
My tactics for this battle will be to drive into MeCannibal and make it shock itself out... I also still do not understand how the skirt works or functions, or more importantly what its purpose is or why it is powered. I also would like an explanation of how the skirt does not get in the way of the blades.
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
Perhaps youd like to explain that yourself, Paul.
Battles coming very soon. Working on the second one right now.
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
Yes! I will explain. The blades reach out longer than the skirts does when raised, and so the blades are fitted neatly above it.
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
Everybodys here and waiting...no longer! Its time for...

Round 1 Battle 1
Firefly & System Shock vs. Sonic Boom & Door Stops
From Team Operation Destruction: Firefly...and...System Shock!
Fireflys got some sting to match its glow. 8mm titanium armour, some serious power, and a lifting plow/wedge that strangely enough works both ways up. System Shock could cause a shock, or possibly fizzle out. 4 LEM130s give it plenty of power, but the strength of those skirts are questionable. Its weapon is a static scoop and its main armour is 4mm Hardox.
From Team Dunno: Sonic Doom...and...Door Stops!
Quite the noise we may have from axlebot Sonic Boom here. Stinger-like shape and a dangerous axe-head weapon. The hubs are 10mm Hardox but the wheels are wide and, though thick, are still vulnerable. Door Stops aims to stop its opponents, clusterbot style. Each is an invertible wedge: 50kg each in weight though could spell trouble for it, but the 2 LEM130s fitted in each Door Stop seems to halt that problem.
Roboteers, stand by...
Booth #1: Liam Eliot, Jamie McHarg
Booth #2: Daniel Stickler, Frank Goacher
In the arena for the house robots we have the all-new, all-evil Exa-Gore-Ic Evo with the sadistic claws and almost unmanageable 400kg weight. Oh, but there is also...Taki-san, front lifting wedge, rear cutter, should be fun...but not for the opponents! Of course, the arena is not without its own hazards! We have a pit (and trigger to open it), flame pit, floor flipper, skills saws, Discs of Death, and of course€¦the refbot, The Watcher to watch over everybody and see that there€™s no foul play€¦which is, really, in vain. :proud:

Activate!
Here we are, starting the tournament fresh off with four great newcomers! Two of them are at it immediately as the scoop of Firefly connects with the axe head of Sonic Boom. Not that much of a boom, though, as the axlebot is thrown off its own trajectory and settles to the left of Firefly. The lifter turns and tries to get its weapon in there but Sonic Boom is proving too hard to catch with its shape, possibly why Daniel has quite the smirk on his face. Sonic Boom turns and gives Firefly a tap with the axe head, lifting it just past the side, but Firefly now has the axlebot right in front of him and without further ado drives right into it. Putting his plan into action Daniel brings down the weapon. BANG! The hit glances off of the 8mm titanium, just missing the top right wheel, and now scoops up the axlebot, who can do nothing now as he is being pushed towards the - BZZT! A little glancing blow from the arena saws seems to bring Firefly€™s straight line path to an end, as Sonic Boom wheels over and tags one of the Door Stops.
Now it€™s Frank€™s turn to play, as both Door Stops charge down the approaching lifter. One of them slides onto the lifter and becomes beached on top of it, while the other somehow slides under the lifter and beaches Firefly. Firefly definitely seems stuck, but isn€™t daring to use the lifter just in case the Door Stop on the lifter goes to use the pit release button€¦which is something that Sonic Boom is heading towards! System Shock suddenly bursts to life for the first time in this match. Liam seems jumpy, realizing what is about to happen, but Sonic Boom has already hit the button and the Door Stop is pushing Firefly around, trying to line it up with the pit. With an almighty CRASH, System Shock barrels into the Door Stop€™s side, not only freeing Firefly but also scooping up the Door Stop and smashing it against the wall! WHAM! It€™s become an all-out war! Daniel and Sonic Boom already know this as it speeds on over to System Shock€™s spot and gives it a smack of the hammer, but foiled by the 4mm Hardox. Meanwhile, Firefly has the OTHER Door Stop by the scoop€¦AND IT€™S DOWN THE PIT!
One part cluster down, another cluster and its partner to go€¦and WHACK! Another shocking blow, proving that Sonic Boom is really all that it says on the tin. A nice dent has now been made on System Shock€™s top, as Firefly barrels in€¦to see Sonic Boom back off. The 22mph speed carries Firefly too far and it ends up rear-ending System Shock, allowing Sonic Boom to have a go at Firefly€¦but Firefly isn€™t the one holding an opponent in place and turns around to chase him down. WHACK! Sonic Boom gives Firefly€™s lifter a nice juicy hit on the left side but only a small dent is made. In response, Firefly scoops up Sonic Boom and mashes it against the wall! WHAM! The axlebot goes flying at a subsonic speed across the arena, crashing into the wall near one of the Discs of Death, and with the axe head in front, guns down the nearby System Shock, who still has that Door Stop trapped. WHAM! Firefly is too late to intervene as Daniel slams into Liam€™s bot forcing it away from the cluster, separated from its partner.
A minute and a half to go now. Frank decides to bully System Shock rather than end up like its brother, on the wedge of Firefly, and powers towards Liam€™s creation. System Shock is apparently having some control problems and is spinning around a little, meaning the Door Stop smacks right into the side of it, and hitting the skirt€¦and going over it! Sonic Boom is there however and dodging a charge from Firefly smacks into System Shock€™s front end landing a hazardous blow directly on top! WHACK! At that moment, the yellowish blur that is Firefly cascades into the Door Stop€™s own side at full force sending it reeling across the arena but just in front of Firefly, who is following. WHAM! WHAM! Right against the wall! And€¦up goes the lifter as the Door Stop is beaches again€¦WHAM! Sonic Boom mashes into it from behind, jolting Firefly and causing it to lose control of the Door Stop, who falls down€¦OOTA! Frank sighs, shrugs, puts down the controls, and starts to tap his foot rhythmically.
An unfortunate ending for Frank€™s clusterbot, but it€™s about to get even worse for his teammate, Daniel, as System Shock barges in and smacks into Sonic Boom€™s own weapon before it can swing down! WHAM! Daniel wiggles about to get free and does so, but not before System Shock sandwiching his weapon between himself and Firefly, who backs System Shock off and makes a beeline for the axlebot. Sonic Boom spins around to go all thwackbot on his arse but unfortunately catches a flying Firefly across the scoop and spins himself onto it. Immediately Firefly gets the lifter going but Sonic Boom merely falls off of it - OH!!! It seems he has wedged the axe head €˜neath the lifter before it went down! Is this good news or bad news? System Shock doesn€™t care what it means, and it smacks into Sonic Boom, not doing much but dragging Firefly behind it a little.
Jamie smiles and pushes forward, sending Sonic Boom onto the arena saws! OOH!!! No matter how thick the rubber is, it can still be shredded, and now strips of rubber litter the floor after that affair! Firefly now drags Sonic Boom backwards, showing the superior power as Sonic Boom tries to pull back futilely. Futilely it is indeed, as Firefly changes course for the pit. System Shock is waiting right near the pit - HE€™S FREE!!! Sonic Boom has the axe head dislodged - OH! System Shock has him, however! And€¦any moment now, BOOM! Just when Sonic Boom thought he had escapes, Liam was there to finish the job and dump him in the pit.
CEASE!
Door Stops is stopped from progressing further, while Sonic Boom€™s wavelength is cut short.
Firefly & System Shock advance to Round 2!

Round 1 Battle 2
Achilles & Wedge Devolution vs. Orka MK4 & Another Night at the Bar
€œFrom Team Vengeance For All: Achilles€¦and€¦Wedge Devolution!€Â
You€™d be hard put to find Achilles€™ heel: it€™s quite the pneumatic and hydraulic flipper with 4 S28s powering the drive, and improved armour, however you won€™t find it to be too damaging, as with his partner, Wedge Devolution. The Devo has yet to really devolve, though. Its LEM130s and CO2 weapon power are able to get the job done countless times, and 4mm Hardox armour is a plus as well.
€œFrom Team Various Dinowarriors: Orka MK4€¦and€¦Another Night at the Bar!€Â
Orka MK4 jumps in with a splash, good speed, good armour, and good power. Its lifter and claw weapons can work in conjunction, and it has a dorsal fin to right it. But it€™s never a party without Another Night at the Bar, who has a deadly 75kJ spinning bar which hits low at all times. The armour is tough, and centered more around the bottom half, but it€™s doubtful to be of use here.
Note: Achilles will use its pneumatic system for the flipper this time around.
Roboteers, stand by€¦
Booth #1: Alex Holt, Steven McGregor
Booth #2: Christopher Mason, Martijn M Benschop
Our new house bot, Damocles, 350kg, and with the four spinning drums, enters the arena for the first time, and Ancalagon the Black joins him, dragon-like, much heavier at 800kg, and with those deadly discs and jaw with flamethrower-like capabilities.

It€™s a god versus a whale, as Achilles and Orka come to blows. However, that€™s all they do, as both blade and scoop cancel out and grind to a halt. One can smell the burning rubber the ground is making of their tires as each works to move the other away€¦and it seems that Achilles is winning this battle, as Orka is forced slowly backward. All of a sudden he moves much further backward, as Achilles finally finds room underneath the scoop, and sliding under it gives it a toss. FLIP! Orka is launched about halfway across the arena, bouncing off one side and onto the other, before coming to rest on its back. Achilles is all over over this one, and mows him down just as the dorsal fin srimech comes into play. Unfortunately for Alex, Orka€™s landing is not directly on topp of the flipper, and before Achilles can react, Orka falls off the wedge completely, and off to the side.
Wedge Devolution and Another Night at the Bar remain quiet as their partners continue to fight it out. Orka is off towards Achilles€™ rear left side, trying to pryy under the skirt, but a quick whirl from the PTT5 champ finds Orka touching noses with him again, and again it€™s in Alex€™s favour. FLIP! With an almighty heave of the flipper, Achilles throws Orka into a direct 360, where the whalebot lands right on all 6 wheels before getting another shove from Achilles but again the clearances stalemate each other. Chris can€™t seem to win a pushing match with Alex and so backs away, letting Achilles push him€¦oho! He€™s feinted to the right, and Achilles has blown by! Chris takes the opportunity that€™s given to him€¦and is successful! He€™s gotten under the right hand skirt, and now the entire side€¦and now the claw comes in! Achilles is trapped, and Alex knows it.
What he doesn€™t know is that Wedge Devolution has broken the one-on-one suddenly and sped right towards Orka, ramming into its side with as much force as an F5 tornado. Another Night at the Bar registers this as a good time to act and does so, the bar spinning wildly. FLIP! Orka AND Achilles get sent for a trip along the arena floor, Achilles still held fast by Orka€™s claw, and both robots inverted. The dorsal fin comes up, but nothing is achieved as the combined size and weight of both of them is too much for the srimech to handle. Similarly, Achilles, knowing the bar won€™t do much good here, fires the flipper, but only nearly rights them, and they crash back down. They are interrupted by another grand slam from Wedge Devo, who smacks into Orka€™s top and tosses it. FLIP! Chris is forced to release Achilles now and does so; instantly, Achilles sails out of his grasp in mid-flip. Martijn however has had enough, and Bar plants a blow on the oblivious Wedge Devo.
CRASH!!!
A very decent blow, but it is taken just as well by the 4mm Hardox rear panel. In fact, it€™s spun Wedge Devo around and sent Bar flying backwards into the nearby wall! His attention diverted, Wedge Devo attacks Bar, smacking into him and giving the axlebot a good taste of the flipper. FLIP! The left set of wheels is vaulted into the air, crashing down as Bar is inverted now, the axle actually rotating to keep the bar hitting low, but that doesn€™t faze Steve. What does faze him is the form of Orka ramming into his rear! WHAM! The skirt is rammed with such force that it flies skyward, though still holding strong onto the main body, but it€™s allowed Orka to get under Wedge Devo and€¦in turn, allow Achilles to sneak in behind Orka itself and toss it. FLIP! Wedge Devo is actually flipped itself, but it€™s Orka who takes the full force of the flip, sailing straight over the stricken Wedge Devo€¦AND OVER THE ARENA WALL! There€™s no hiding that dejected expression on Chris Mason€™s face€¦
With his teammate gone, Martijn€™s bot sprints away from the incoming Achilles as Wedge Devo rights itself. The bar spins up quite quickly, and he€™s ready to face his opponents. Steve is confident in his bot€™s earlier ability to take a full hit and keep going like nothing happened, and so moves in again, this time trying hard to make sure Bar hits the front. Bar swerves this way and that, but Wedge Devo keeps the rotational direction inline, and scoots straight into Bar€™s direction of rotation.
CRASH!
Not a major hit, but it had the effect Steve wanted: Bar goes flying up and over top of Wedge Devo, who is still looking just fine, and straight in front of Achilles. The orange wedge amscrays into Bar€™s gut immediately, burying it onto the wedge, and there€™s nothing Bar can do now, all 4 wheels are off the ground, and€¦FLIP!
CEASE!
Orka MK 4 gets all netted up in the business, while Another Night at the Bar goes home to sober up.
Achilles & Wedge Devolution advance to Round 2!
Next up:
Infusion Helix & Monolith vs. Bigger Brother & Shrederator
Mechavore & Flipping Mad 7 vs. The Rock & Life and Death
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
My tactics are already up, but here they are for a reminder:
Mechavore & Flipping Madd 7 vs. The Rock & Life and Death: I say that we deal with both robots in a clever way. Mechavore lacks a scrimech, so well send in Life to overturn in, while The Rock and Death will keep Flipping Mad at bay, as my axe should puch some nice dents into that Titanium. If Life can get Flipping Mad on its back, then I can hammer the base panel and immobiliise it that way.
Good luck everyone
The Crash & Burn Tournament: The Dual Duels
OK, now Im confused about MeCannibal again :proud: and I do actually have something to add to those tactics; if Flipping Mad refuses to pay us the courtesy of dying, Ill use Death to grapple on to it and do a kamikaze run to send us both down the pit.
Good luck people :)
