YEEEEESSSSS!!! That means all the work i have done wont go to waste! Should have checked earlier really but I have made worse mistakes
It is looking like the first ever BW battle will happen in the next few days, it will be filmed so everyone can see the damage
in the UK at least
who's fighting, tom's FBS and 180?
180 vs gimp vs Fetish ( Daves vertical )
All you need now is a bar spinner and a drum and you've got all bases covered!
I'm planning on bulding a mini nst style bar spinner
Rocky is an ex drum if that counts? I may make a frame for the drum, but it would be to heavy and ineffective. That's why I stoped making it and changed the design.
Well I am adding another vertical spinner to the mix... sorry to ruin the pattern but here is the design of my beetle weight... a mini-conker, as yet unnamed...

Daves vert isnt called Fetish, Its called RPM
The armour is steel
That's it, I'm making a BW Drumroll! Dunno why I'd never given it much thought before now, but got a fair few parts handy for it so will try and churn it out once Flatulence is up and running.Quote:

Do an event when I've not at uni and I'm there. Fancy my chances against all of them so far!
Talk about selective quoting :lol:Quote:

Mine is going to be NOT a spinner! Mine will be an axe, and quite a substantial axe if I can get the 900 relica on the weight limit.
I wish, should've done English or History of art!Quote:

Wow, that would be powerful! I did axe testing bolted straight to the shaft of about a 500 size motor, that went straight though a biscuit tin, and pretty far in to plastic.. If you pull it of David, it would pretty damn awsome!
Handy if you ever need to fight a biscuit tin.Quote:

Little video of 180 hitting Sloth. I got about half hours worth of footage but just edited it down to a short video of 180's good hits.

We was playin for a good couple of hours and both robots stood up to the punishment really well. 180 did some sweet 360 style gyro dancing.
Hey guys.
I'm just wondering what I should use to control my brushed weapon motor for my beetle, considering its size ? There will not be enough room for a pair of decent relays. Would those 12A ones that look like ant controllers be of any use ?
A modded 25a brushless controller should do the trick.
Few more pics of rpm

Changed my mind on bar or disc well for now and gone with narrow drum that is going to have hardox or p20 teeth
thats friggin cool
Thanks more pics to come over next couple days
That is awesome!
You guys seem to be pumping out fantastic (looking?) machines at the moment! Really really cool. A teeny bit jealous, I admit.
Quick question:
If Beetles will be following FW rules with regards to links, lights, cradles and sharp edge protection...does it follow the same rules for Lipo's?
I ask because I can't fit a 2mm base into my design, and I dunno how thick anyone elses bade is on here...
Just break the rules, Its more fun that way.
Rpm's base is 1.6mm titanium
we can be more lenient with the rules when it comes to things like baseplate thickness for lipos, We are using really small lipos so it shouldnt be an issue, Just dont have them exposed.
There isn't actually a rule about the Li-Po base thing, there was just a forum discussion. Besides I'm pretty sure it was to protect the arena floor in case of fire.
But let's face it, any battery can go up (NiCad, Nimh, Li-Po) and if the floor is Hardox then what's the worry?
Maybe in the HW arenas I could see an argument but the RoboChallenge one your BW one?
