Um...um...Achilles to get his revenge from MN1? :proud:
GeForce 4.0 vs WORCK: Now Im up against it. Actually, when I looked at who had won through to this round, one of the robots I wouldnt liked to fight was GeForce, becuase of my Envy-like shape, I can get under it quite easily. I actually going to try and flip it about in the centre of the arena, because his flipping power will steadily decrease every time he self-rights, and try to get him with his back facing the arena wall.
This will either prevent him from self-righting, this allowing me the win, or he will self-right over the wall and land on his wheels - so he cant get back in.
Good luck AJ
Biatch Beater vs Hoof
Im going to go with Biatch Beater here to break up the Sheppard design.
Starstorm 2 vs Cosmic Thunder 2
Starstorm isnt that good if a wedge gets under it, and I reckon Cosmic Thunder will get under and toss him out!
Wedge Devolution vs Achilles
I DONT KNOW.... :lame:
Ah Aarons drum machine.
Im going to remove the skirts, but I have a little speed advantage, so Im going to try to break free and attack the sides, where once under Im going to waste no time in pushing it towards the nearest wall to toss it over. Hopefully the carbon fibre will hold out long enough (but has anybody ever tested carbon fibre against a spinner?). But basically thats my aim, use my extra speed to speed away from trouble.
«GeForce 4.0 vs. Worck»
Same tactics as usual - get under that 5mm clearance, get its wheels off the ground, push it towards the wall and launch it right over the top. Wedge to wedge I have more power to get under it, but this shouldn€™t be needed as I will be aiming for Worck€™s sides. To be able to flip me, Worck needs to get a run at my skirts, get under them, then drive me up the wedge and then operate the flipper. This is not going to be easy at all, and I expect it to have minimal attempts at flipping me. In contrast, I should be able to keep attempting to throw Worck into orbit. Its a case of rear hinged flipper vs. an unskirted robot and a front hinged flipper vs. a skirted robot.
Elsewhere I think Biatch Beater, Starstorm 2 and Wedge Devolution will be going through.
I DO have skirting AJ - thats what the wedges are, very strong skirting, but theyre not fixed so my robot can move, as they have Titanium hinges, but are made of 3.25mm Hardox, and link at the corners.
And my robot is based on Envy, except with a MUCH more powerful flipper and the wedges. It can get under everything no trouble, and its 30cm in height. Im 15cm in height, so getting under you is no issue, and flipping you is no issue, as you can flip high - I can flip FAR! Plus, one advantage is I have more flips than you, and every time you attack, youre flipper decreases in power.
Plan remains the same - get under, flip him a bit to weaken his flipper, and then carry him to the wall (he wont slide off my barbed wedge) and just toss him over, but make sure I toss him into the pits.
Good luck AJ
Paul, you state neither wedges or skirts. Therefore, you do not have any. What does height have to do with anything? How often does Envy have to get under skirts? My flipper flips heigh and far. Your flipper also decreases in power every flip.
Keep trying...
No - my flipper is powered by CO2, yours is powered by Nitrogen. And I DO have wedges (Check the bit in bold):
€ WEIGHT: 100kg
€ ARMOUR: 5mm Hardox for the body and flipper. 6mm Hardox for the scoop. There are hindged wedges on the sides and rear of Worck made of 3.25mm Hardox. Behind the armour, all the way around Vulkanised rubber to shock-proof it against spinners.
€ SHAPE: A low wedge shape.
€ MOTORS: 2 x S28-400 MagMotors at 36V = 12HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 4 Vulkanised Wheels.
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 70CM (H) 15CM (W) 70CM
€ COLOUR: Black for the flipper and barbs, white for the body.
€ WEAPONRY: A forward hindged flipper, running on a single 750psi ram running on CO2. The gas is contained in 2 x 2.5kg bottle, giving me 20 flips per fight, and the gearing on the ram 3:1 means we have 1300kg of flipping force! That should mean on a forward hindged flipper that I can flip almost everything OOTA.
€ SPEED: 13mph
€ GROUND CLEARANCE: The wedges, which join up at the corners of the robot, make the ground clearance effectively zero, but underneath the wedges is 5mm of clearance. The wedges are held on by Titanium hindges
€ STRENGTH: Near impossible to get under.
€ WEAKNESS: Low speeds.
You see?
This is what I saw several pages back:

GROUND CLEARANCE: The wedges make the ground clearance effectively zero, but underneath the wedges is 5mm of clearance. The wedges are held on
I forgot to finish that sentence, but when everyone was saying there were flaws in the specs, Martijn let me put it right. Its on the home-page of Kody and Martijn in the section for this tornument.
