It was all over by lap 7 - more fun to turn over to watch Antiques Roadshow or something
Very nice race. I thought it was exciting till the end.
And way to go Raikkonen! :D
Kimi Raikkonen did a very good job. Still I think Lewis Hamilton did a magnificent job fighting back from 18th place.
Better luck next time.
Happy Halloween everybody - yeah I know its a bit early in the day for trick-or-treating but my night begins at 4pm so thought Id see if I could blag any bags of sweeties beforehand :)
So heres my party piece:
An Italian guy is walking alongside a riverbank in Italy when he sees a dog unconscious in the river and being swept away.
He jumps into the river and pulls the dog out onto the riverbank and begins to perform CPR on it.
After a minute of this the dog finally comes round, by which point a couple of passers-by have gathered to watch the mans heroics.
Impressed by the way he resussitated the animal, one of the passers-by says You must be a vet
To which the man replies, A vet, a vet! Im a bloomin soaking!
:proud:
(yeah its a bad joke but what the heck! :P)
The Peel P50 is a cool little car. I want one. :)
So do i Leo.
Did you watch top gear, when Jeremy Clarkson was driving round the bbc tower block?
Leo
i had an isetta bubble car it had a front door!!!
The Isetta is huge compared to the P50. :)
You€™re not wrong it had a massive 300cc engine only one cylinder. Many years ago I managed to fit 5 people in it! I did see on ebay a 50cc car made in Portugal It was Pig ugly but very small also there is a French company that made 50 cc cars in the 80s
about 10 years ago i had a secma funtech scootcar (french) which was a 50cc moped bolted onto a plastic body that has 2 wheels on the front, it was great fun and got looks everywhere i went in it, great in the summer, but it was so slow! i think now they are called qpods.

In Holland the Aixam is pretty popular since you only need a moped license to drive them. They were ment for disabled people but 16 year olds also have some interest in them.
But the sheer size, or lack of size rather, makes the P50 so funny. I could almost put it in my car as a spare car instead of a spare tire. :)
I wanted to make up a kit car that used a small motorbike engine say no bigger than 125cc but I could not find anything, with the €œeco blab€ these days I thought someone would make a kit car that would use a small IC engine or electric power. Dose anyone know of one like this????????
Well that link Adrian gave does have machines like that.
Have you seen the prices???????????
Eh no, should I have?
you can pick them up on ebay occassionally, a tidy newer one around 2002-2004 will cost about £1000-£1200,£600-800 for an older roadworthy one, or £3500 new i think, you can ride them on a cbt, with no helmet, £15 road tax, £300 insurance and about 60mpg, they did a 50cc 3 wheeler, 350cc 4 wheeler then 500cc kit cars which cost about £7000 new. only thing i would stress if you were going to buy one is that their is only 1 company in the uk that is a dealer, and if your buying new he is your best friend, but if you need replacement parts he isnt interested. you can buy direct from secma in france. mine i had years ago but they have never changed the design.
wish i kept mine it was a good laugh, probably a future collectors item as they are very rare. i never seen another one on the road.

I still think there should be a kit car company making a kit perhaps using the rear end of a motorbike that you can bolt on and drive, you could have electric reverse, and go cart steering if I carry on like this I might end up designing one!
How about wooden body panels I remember seeing a mini based kit they made 6 and 4 wheel versions that could have wood parts it was designed by the bloke who designed an Aston Martin.
There might wel be a market for it. But i dont know if a company is brave enough to step into this market.

hahahaha Memories of Brighton 04 anyone?
Do I dare enquire as to what happened ?
Ignorence is bliss David. It also gives you deniability. :)
well there is proof i am not the only one that did it. although i bet there is a small percentage that did what i did.
Anyone else done a search for FRA on google recently?
Apparently the FRA - The Flat Roofing Alliance is more popular according to google :)
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=FRA&meta=http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=FRA&meta=
more interesting than this forum at the moment too :)
Dont mind me, just checking the profile works!!!
On the UK version the Fell Runners Association is more popular than flat roofs. Makes perfect sense to me ..... drunk more beer, fell running :)
According Wikipedia, FRA stands for:
Federal Railroad Administration [Fat Yankee Controllers!],
Fixed Radio access,
Fathers Rights Activists,
Forward Rate Agreement,
FRAnce,
FRAnkfurt International Airport (IATA code),
FRAnkfurt Stock exchange,
Fell Running Association,
Frequency Response Analysis,
EUs Fundamental Rights Agency,
Future Rockstars of America (FR*A),
Feline Republic Alliance [WTF?]
And no Fighting Robots Association! Do we not have a Wikipedia page?
Speaking of Wikipedia, who keeps editing the Robot Wars page back? A few days ago I changed a bit about Sgt Bashs armour being replaced in series 3 to series 4 (which is correct, I have checked in RW Magazine) I go there today and its back to its original (wrong) state.

errr..... the Wiki Elves?
Mike, are you talking about the change from Steel to Fibreglass? because Sgt. Bash did have a Fibreglass shell in RW3.
I am sure Sgt Bash had his steel replaced with fibreglass after series 3, as they had a competition to win part of it in the original RW Mag. He had his bigger claw upgrade and shell upgrade before series 4.

Something that clearly only works to make one look a bit loony judging by the reactions of passers-by. If you did get fooled and try it, what would you get for 500? A slapped face no doubt :uhoh:
