3) Arena Rules
3a) All battles must take place in a battle box, regardless of weapons being used in the battle.
4mm polycarbonate is the minimum recommended thickness.
3b) The arena will be a raised platform with an area of at least 30 inches (762mm) square.
3c) At least half of the edge of the arena must be unwalled, to allow robots to drop directly into the ditch that surrounds the arena. 50mm is the recommended height for arena walls.
3d) The minimum distance between the edge of the unwalled part of the arena and the battle box (and therefore the width of the ditch) is 140mm.
From the AWS rules.
Re: Robots Live - Burgess Hill - 28th & 29th April 2012
That's a cool arena! It would be fine for battles, but as they said aws (the main formal competitions) cant be held in it. But casual, play battles or competitions would be fine in it, as long as there's no spinners, but that's cool.

Kanopener's triumphant return to robotic combat against 3 mighty flippers.

Re: Robots Live - Burgess Hill - 28th & 29th April 2012
Would still say Kronic won that one as it did some good attacking of all three opponents and Kan Opener blindly focused on Kronic so would've lost the opportunity to score more points on the others.
If this were a RW first round melee though Kronic would be through and KO second....

Re: Robots Live - Burgess Hill - 28th & 29th April 2012
Hi All
Did anybody video the third place fight off between Big Nipper, Can Opener and Tilly? I think we got so far into Can Opener that I think it may be pregnant!

Re: Robots Live - Burgess Hill - 28th & 29th April 2012
Again?! Well I suppose it has been a couple of years since you last knocked her up at Barnsley :)
Re: Robots Live - Burgess Hill - 28th & 29th April 2012
I think I filmed all the fights on both days, they are all being uploaded as I type.
I havn't got competitor lists for them yet but the have numbers to show the order they were filmed in.
Anything you want adding to the main descriptions please let me know.
That goes for anyone who has a robot in any of my videos.

Many thanks to robots live for organising another great event at Burgess hill, congratulations to team bud for taking all 3 places on the podium  . Had a few good fights but had a valve problem which after it was sorted worked really well, but blew a hydraulic fitting clean in half on the RAM and a motor melted and blew my wotty :(.
Very expensive weekend .....well still cheaper than going shopping with the wife !
Maybe get the lems on now ! See you all soon.
Re: Robots Live - Burgess Hill - 28th & 29th April 2012
Big thank you to all that came, we had a great turnout of robots and some brilliant fights, must be some sort of record for the amount of robots to fight during a show. Well done to Eruption for winning there first trophy, and Team Bud for 2nd and 3rd and winning the Feathers.
Big thanks to the crew as always; Ed W, Ed H, Dave, and Terry, Jenny, Jackie, Glyn and Graeme for helping out with the arena, merchandise and cups of tea! Also to the guys from Brighton Uni for helpig with the get in/out.
Kronic had issues with one of its gearboxes, so didn't run too well, but had great fun operating Big Nippers weapons.
Had a good audience turnout, so i guess we'll be back next year!
Next full show is Swansea at the end of September, but we'll be in Edinburgh in June and another TBC in July.

We've had a great time this weekend, really pleased that Eruption's got onto the stage of winning events now! Still a few issues to fix for future events though. Well done also to Team Bud, it was a really close final against Thor and Chuck performed really well, worthy winner of the feathers.
Massive thanks to Robots Live, this was a fantastic event and we'll certainly be coming again next year to defend the title!
Re: Robots Live - Burgess Hill - 28th & 29th April 2012
We had a really good weekend many thanks to all of the Robots Live crew.
Congratulations to Michael with Eruption and to Team Bud on all of your trophies.
See you all soon

That was probably me saying 'he'll regret buying that' ?
Its like if I was to take 13black into the arena now, everyone and his dog would want a piece of it
