You'll need an adaptor and on/off valve -it is in the rules -, as pin valves have the disadvantage of opening the bottle when screwed in.
Easier solution is to buy a bottle with On/Off valve integrated.
The tread on that bottle is compatible with 1/2 BSP 14TPI, meaning you can easely buy parts that fit it.
any idea where i could get an adapter?
Paintball shops look the best option.
But, straight from the rules.
9.6 Remote Isolation Valve
Gas cylinders that do not incorporate a valve (for example: the gas is released as soon as the cylinder is
screwed into it€Ÿs mating pneumatic connection) such as found on disposable welding bottles and €žfizzy
drinks€Ÿ machines must have an additional remote isolation valve accessible from outside of the robot.

Sorry if I've caused offence. All I'm looking to do is replace the pin valve with an on/off valve.
NP..
Mario ...however might have been a bit peeved at my typo
Phew...managed to edit the a to an o.
Same difference, not an adaptor, but a full replacement of the valve then. Simple solution, ask the local paintball shop.Quote:

postage is a bit OTT
Sorted the tank, anybody know where I can get a cheap, small reg? I've looked on eBay and there's a few but they are mainly for fish tanks?
Also, for a behemoth style wedge plate on a featherweight, what material would people suggest? Im thinking 2mm Ali?
2mm Ally won't be strong enough. I would go 3mm steel, 5mm ally or 3mm Ti.
Hmm, will have to see what the weight comes out like.
Can anybody help with the reg?
most people use a small regulator called a trevor regulator or a victor regulator as normal regulators are annoyingly large and don't like liquid co2.
send trevor a pm, he'll probably be able to sell you a trevor regulator
A Victor, as we know from KHz ,THz and Envy, is a rather large regulator.
For feathers, a Trevor is your best bet.
Suppose this is a stupid question but what's trevor's username on here?
mightymouse I think
Thanks, I've just sent him a message
i'm not sure if he still regularily checks his pm's. you might want to send him an email
I've got in touch with Trevor so all is good!
I'm having trouble sorting out the thread sizes etc. I have the tank below (with an on off valve and I'm guessing a standard paintball tank thread) and the solenoid valve. I'm confused about the thread sizes etc (will I need adapters etc) and I'll be using the trev reg

Also, how much does a trev reg weigh?
a lot less than any commercial version.
I can imagine! But seriously, does anyone know?
not enough to matter probably
i've weighed one but i can't remember how much they weigh . i don't think they are more than 300g
I'm going to be so borderline on weight it's unbelievable!
My Trevor, without CO2 nut, is 112 gram. And I guess I can remove a few more grams if needs be.Quote:

Just about to order my push fits from technobots and I want to double check a few things. If I want to order a stud for a Trevor reg and I'm using tubing with a OD of 10mm, I'd want a 1/8 10 BSP stud correct? And the solenoid valve is 1/4 BSP so I'd want 1/4 BSP 10 items?
YES
Thanks
