Jack

oh bugger, my feather is mostly flat edges :?
Just to give you it's size at this time, it's 21 inches long, 15 inches wide and 9cm tall.
It may have a lot of air space but think about it, it will be difficult for robots with axes or crushers to get at my components.
I was never going to leave my edges flat, I'm going to put them in a angle, somewhat like sloped armor.
And with all the components and armor (5mm Aluminium Plate) in place, it weighs 11.7kg.
its twice as long as mine!!
no inuendo intended :proud:
my feather is only 32cm long (not inc claws) but all the parts weigh around 13 kg
if you can gut it all in the weight limit then go for it, but i would bring the wheels closer together if you can because that will be a nightmare to turn
mine is about the same size but only 4kg
just shove on a load of hardox
thats your awnser to everything nowadays :(
double post
someone needs to add some weight :)Quote:

If it's only 4kg make 2 more and create a 3 way clusterbot
for the cost of that i might as well just put some 6mm hardox on it
True, but a clusterbot is more fun.
ye, just put some 6mm hardox on it, its a simple thing but normally most effective
Me+Jonny+Harry= SUPER-EPIC-WINNING-CLUSTERBOT-TEAM
if your serious then yes :proud:
if not, oh very funny jack :uhoh:
(we should stop jacking this poor dudes thead ^^)
but yeah i dont see any reason why not, i just need to be really lightweight lol, me and Jonny had basicly started anyway :P
awesome :D i can see us hitting the roof if we meet a decent flipper in the arena :uhoh: i will commence work on my part this week hopefully, just been bogged down trying to get some antweights going for the o2 recently
also i sent some money yesterday but it keeps coming up with the words (as my dad said) epic failure, so i will try again today
i'll pm you my paypal info again jack just incase i got it wrong the first time
jack and jonny, what kinds of feathers you building? maybe we should have a theme or summat.
you can have your thread back now mate :P
mine shall be a ram bot, not gonna try and incorporate a weapon into 4kg.
by the way we should make a build diary for our cluster so we can stop hijacking this thread lol
you make it then :proud:
last time i post here lewis, sorry 8)
any update on your build?
ours or his
Well either.lol
It's been so long since my last update. I have been building Rukia little by little and trying to work out how to do this and that.
OK this is whats been done.
The chassis has been cut down but not by much because of that actuator acting like a fat man, taking more than half of my sofa!
And I have moved the wheels closer to each other.
Got my bearings mounted and soon to make my drive shaft for my motors.
And yes my robot looks big for a FW, well more like a obese FW but a good looking obese FW.
I should be ready for the events in October and I'm getting a 2 wheel drive rambot ready as well.

robot 2.jpg[/attachment:n5edimjj]
It's looking great! I plan to build something very similar, only with 4 drill motors for drive and not such a fancy actuator! I hadn't realized someone had already got going with a four-bar lifter in a FW. I feel like I'd be copying you if I kept my design... :uhoh:
Ah well. We'll just have to battle it out when the day comes. :)
Again, looks great. Please keep us updated!
looks really good, it should be able to self-right?
Update
Well bad news for people who were looking forward to see Rukia at Kidderminster, is not going to happen.
The reason is due to the wheels not been in line properly and yes I have tried to fix this, but no it needs a new base and new plastic (Nylon 6) why?
It's because RG1000 is crap end of.
Rukia.jpg[/attachment:ovdoe7sf]
But have no fear I have been working on my 2 wheel drive rambot and there's not much to do on it.
It's name is Mr. Pink, yes I'm going into Reservoir Dogs here.
It has 2 speed 900's to drive it.
4x 12mm Nylon 6 bulkheads.
And 4mm aluminum plate base.
Here's a early build picture of it.
Mr Pink.jpg[/attachment:ovdoe7sf]
as i may have said before, the 4wd feather is massive!
I can just picture *cough* M-M... Mr. Pink ( :o ) hurtling towards another robot so quickly that it launches them into the air. Please make it fast. A robot like that has to be fast. It just, has to be.
Hahaha, I can't wait to see something move. Update us often!
it's just big boned!Quote:

I have weighed Mr Pink at this time and he weighs 4.8KG for now.
And the armour is harddox.
Looking very very cool. May I ask, why Mr. Pink?
Are you having a srimeck or just hoping you don't get flipped?
Looks (in shape) a bit like La Machine, which was an awesome robot.
Why not I say.Quote:
